I've lived in Nappanee for 20+ years. I love this small city! Great community, plenty of doctors, services, stores, great schools, great churches, etc. We've got one of the best Mexican restaurants around, a great breakfast restaurant, coffee shop, a great family bar/patio restaurant, and now... RUHE 152!!! We've needed an upscale dining restaurant for such a long time!!! We finally have it in RUHE! The atmosphere is stylish, cool and relaxed. The staff is outstanding! And between the chef and the brew-master, they've totally nailed it!!! The interesting brews are awesome, and the menu is amazing. They've only been open a short while and I've been four times already! Love this place!!! read more

So good. Best burger I've had in a long time. Tried a pomegranate martini and it was excellent. Good beer and great fries as well.

I got the cornbread stuffed pork chop and it was perfect it was crunchy and the mashed potatoes were so smooth. I was a little curious when seeing that there was tajin on my pork chop but it was delicious. My boyfriend had a cheeseburger and he said that the burger was super good and the fries were done perfectly. We also got the chocolate raspberry cake and it was delicious. read more

Only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because of the (what I'm assuming was) manager. The food was phenomenal, and the wait staff did an amazing job. The atmosphere in the building was terrific! I was absolutely impressed by everything! However, we were a half an hour into our reservation and our orders still hadn't been taken, which we didn't mind because we were enjoying the experience, when I'm assuming the manager came to inform us that we were only allowed a two hour window because our party was so large. The way it was presented could have been done in a more discreet manor instead of being announced to the entire restaurant. I also feel like that type of information would be nice to know upon making the reservation several days in advance. I didn't like feeling rushed to eat as soon as my food got there because we were almost at an hour before everyone had their orders taken. Again, everything else was great and we will absolutely go back... there were just a few things that disappointed us. read more

Great atmosphere, Better food! Being from the area, I've been waiting forever for a classy place with great food that I don't have to drive an hour to go to. Ruhe is everything you want in a night out....if you like locally brewed drinks, they have plenty on tap everyday, including many of their own brands! The food is fun and well done...a lot of different tastes to try, often in new and exciting ways. You think you've had a BLT? Well, I had the fried green tomato with bacon and greens in a bao bun...and it was delicious! The spiral fries were great as well...and were the tempura deviled eggs and the goat cheese dip we had for appetizers! It's a beautiful place inside, with attentive servers and wait staff. A breath of fresh air in rural northern Indiana. Bored with the tiring local restaurants in the Lake Wawasee area, we drove to Ruhe152 for dinner (30 minutes max from the lake). The decor is very nice. Reminiscent of a big city bistro. All the food was excellent and the staff attentive. I had the ribeye, perfectly cooked. Daughter got the salmon, wife got the cobb salad. Son got a hamburger. Was there during Labor Day weekend. Though their reservations were filled, we got seated immediately. I highly recommend this place especially if you want some different than your typical small town restaurants. It's worth the drive. read more

What a great microbrewery with great food to boot! Every beer in our flight was spot on. Bourbon glazed tots for appetizer was the bomb. We shared the meatloaf with the port glaze and tapioca cheese fritter on the side with the Yukon gold mashed... yummm. Sorry for no pictures but we just dug in. read more

This isn't really a burger and fries place but mmmm the burger was nice and juicy with good flavor and fresh toppings. The fries are equally as yummy with their unique shape. Side note-try the special ketchup! It's also a really restful classy atmosphere. read more

Went for the first time with the family and had a very good experience. The tipsy tots and flatbread appetizers were delicious, and the bartender did an A+ job on the cocktails. Moved into the Draper, and my wife who does not like beer even enjoyed it. Entrees were flavorful, and they had vegetarian option for one of my daughters. Finished with the raspberry chocolate cheesecake - good sized portion for splitting and creamy rich. Make a reservation, as the wait is long on the weekends. Definitely worth the drive out of South Bend for dinner! read more

Much needed restaurant in Nappanee. We sat upstairs because the live guitar player on a Fri nite was too loud for conversation. Nice, hip, atmosphere. Service was good. Had the Ruhe burger and the Bistro burger and both were good but a tad over cooked. That could have been our fault by asking for medium although server said that would be a little red. Sweet potato tots were excellent in that I could actually taste sweet potato. The tempura deviled eggs were yummy and very different. Would definitely return. When people go out for dinner it's not necessary for the restaurant to have loud live music or any loud music. People go out to relax and chat. Nice in the background. read more

Today a group of friends gathered to celebrate birthdays. Upon arriving at 11:10(opening at 11) we were told there was an hour wait. Which we waited because I had been told good things. Once seated we were greeted quickly by our server and had drinks and apps in a timely manor. The tempura deviled eggs were amazing. However the pb&j tots were horrendous and cold. We ordered our meals and most of us got burgers. I ordered mine medium and the others ordered medium well. They all were completely well done and dry. Didn't have much flavor to them. I got the sweet potato tots with my burger and they were cold. Another person in our party got the blt Benidict and that was cold as well. The only saving graces were the pork belly flatbread. And the cocktails were good as well. Later in the day I found out that today was there first shot at brunch. So maybe trying it out another time and seeing if things are any better. read more

My wife and I went in for a late lunch. The place was not busy, so we were seated promptly. The decor is quite nice, looks like a complete renovation of the space. The piped in music was very annoying, some variation of the Star Wars cantina theme arranged for a dance club...it never seemed to end, and the next repetitive track on the playlist was equally annoying. We placed our orders and food was delivered promptly. My well done burger was flavorful, though barely above room temperature. Fries were the same- tasted fine, but barely warm. My wifes food was the same- tasted fine, just not warm. Not sure how that happens when the food is delivered promptly to the table from the kitchen. I may go back to sample the beer, and may try the food again, but was a bit disappointed with our first visit. Hopefully our visit was not typical, I'm hoping for success for this new addition to the Nappanee scene. read more
