As a Black woman from the U.S., I faced poor customer service and discrimination. My tour guide, Tomaso, was rude and condescending. First, he ignored me and other people of color in my group by not speaking to us or even giving eye contact at the beginning of the tour. Second, Tomaso told me that I wasn't allowed to record videos as this was the owner's rule and he demanded that I delete any videos from my phone. I felt that he was singling me out and trying to embarrass me. This "policy" was not shared in writing or verbally in advance. Also, I've seen other guests post videos on social media, even days before my visit, which included Tomaso's face. The energy of the tour felt unwelcoming. During the tasting, no one followed up to ask how I was enjoying the wines or if I was interested in purchasing. It felt like the establishment didn't care about my business. Next, the staff said I could take photos with my wine in front of the amazing terrace view, then they refused. The castle shouldn't schedule tastings right before closing if guests will be pushed out. The only reason I didn't leave a one star review is due to a good experience with an outstanding staff member. Sole was very nice and offered me a ride to my car! She's the kind of employee who should be rewarded for going above and beyond and providing wonderful service to guests. Overall, the castle was beautiful, but the tour was dry with no enthusiasm and the service was lacking. Some staff seemed more concerned with showing attention to white guests and heading home than providing a memorable visit for everyone. I envisioned a once-in-a-lifetime experience that would leave me feeling enlightened, supported, and valued. Instead, I felt dismissed, excluded, and disrespected. I will return to Tuscany, but to a different winery that prides themselves on excellent service and fairness for all.

Our driver Massimo was extremely personable and provided great information and history along the way. As a local he was very familiar with Florence, Siena and the Tuscan countryside overall. We stopped for a couple hours in Siena to see the city and then in another small city in Tuscany. We were then taken to the Casa Emma winery. The tour there was very interesting and we sampled four wines pair with some cheese (sprinkled with their amazing balsamic vinegar) and other light fares. We thought this might be the winery that tour drivers take their English passengers to as there were four other groups there during our visit who all spoke English. The wines at the winery itself were great but priced somewhat high so we only got one bottle and that aforementioned balsamic vinegar. The trip back goes through a more historical roadway (versus the autostrada) which offers truly incredible views. On the way back to the hotel we needed a quick restroom break so our driver stopped at a local grocer that has a large wine selection. He helped us pick our three other wines from the region that he enjoyed that were very reasonably priced. This was a nice unexpected stop on the trip and we appreciated his adaptability and wine recommendations! I'd highly suggest both the car service and Massimo for your transportation needs while in Florence. They were reasonably priced and Massimo was a pleasure to ride with!

On the day of, our driver Marco showed up on time, and beyond exceeded our expectations. He was informative - telling us all about the areas we drove through and he was just an overall great person. Special shout out to Marco for making our day so memorable. During our day trip - we visited two smalls towns to begin with, then stopped at a local family winery for lunch and a tasting. That was the BEST stop of the day - Sant'Angese Winery. We had a private tour of the winery, and the food for lunch was amazing. Not to mention their wines, olive oil and balsamic. After that, we stopped at another winery, enjoyed tastings in a cave, then headed back to Florence. Highly highly recommend Chianti Drivers!! Grazie mille a Sabrina and Marco!

The winery, tour and the history behind it was awesome! On the tour, you are able to see the beautiful estate, including the wine barrels and vaults. To see pure Italian wine, direct at the source, was an awesome experience. Our tour guide was great and explained so much about the wine, owners and history of the estate. Although the tasting of this wine was completed at the final destination (not recommended to drink and drive a vespa), it was so good! If you are able to tour this winery, do not miss out!

We had a wonderful time and she went above and beyond to make our tour special. We started by having some Prosecco while she told us some history of Ruffino and then we decided to do our tour by tasting one wine in a different part of the estate. We were able to try one wine while learning about Ruffino's many awards, one wine while in the wine cellar in the basement with the oak barrels and one wine while out on the beautiful landscape. Our tour was supposed to be 90 minutes but it was about 2 1/2 wonderful hours due to the attention Greta paid to our tour. We also had two non-drinkers in our party and they still enjoyed the tour. I cannot say enough how wonderful our experience was. It is definitely worth it. Make sure you e-mail/call ahead and book a tour, if this is on your list! Greta thank you for a wonderful day!! Our final day was a visit to this winery based on the suggestion of our wedding planner. It was absolutely beautiful and one of the best experiences we had on the trip. Unfortunately the majority of our 20 people crew were very, very hungover from partying the night before so we called in advanced to ask them to switch the tour with lunch so that everyone could eat first and then take the tour. They were extremely accommodating (thankfully!!) and while everyone arrived very quiet and cloaked in their sunglasses, they were all lively, laughing and enjoying themselves once the food started coming. The winery also makes their own olive oil and as much as I ate during my trip to Italy, their toasted bread with olive oil and salt was hands down one of the best things I had. I'm still missing it! The staff lived onsite and gave us such a family greeting we felt right at home. Their wine was also divine. We moved on to the tour after lunch and our guide was very informative and patient with some of our crew who fell a little behind. It was so interesting to hear about their process for both their wine and olive oil. After the tour, there is a small gift shop with very affordable prices (we all expected the wine to be much more expensive). They gifted my husband and myself with a bottle of wine and olive oil as a gift for our wedding which was so sweet. A fantastic experience overall!
