This is the odor of Family Dollar. Family Dollar is a place where products go to die. Do you really need a plastic fountain in the shape of a German house? Do you really need a cheap-ass CD player that was made in Bangladesh? Do you really need candy that was discontinued at Wal-Mart and has an expiration date of two monthss ago? My answer is a resounding, "NO!" The sign outside proudly proclaims that you can get milk here now. What freakish cow did this milk come from? How sad that the cow worked so hard to produce milk that ends up in this pit of hell. I feel sorry for that cow. Poor cow. Avoid it at all costs, before it sucks you into the fold and you become one with the machine...

Like downstate meets Catskills in an approachable accommodating space. Thought and creativity clearly goes into how they select their ware, and I'd not be surprised to see all the young dudes sporting tight street sneakers and smart-looking jeans come the last snowmelt of spring. All turned out leaning on Main Street lamp posts watching the world go 'round. They've been open a month. I ask a question about the product I'm standing in front of, and she says, "What?" but doesn't move from her spot. Yes some of the items are expensive but they are all hand made products and local. They have some local soaps that are made with essential oils and they are one of my favorite products to buy. I buy this place out every single year. The hand soap with orange essential oil is absolutely the best. We also bought a beautiful hand cut cheese board. Each year we come in and they have some newer items, all of which area beautiful.
