When Wifey surprised me with a Cooperstown trip I knew it was going to be an amazing weekend and there really ain't much about the trip I wouldn't give five stars...including Mickey's Place. Great business to order throwback fitted ball caps. They have a great selection and the prices for hats are better than any other hat company I've ordered from. So, I was a little hesitant to order from Mickey's place because of their posted return/exchange policy. I received one of the Mets '62 heritage series hats which was a little small and came with a soft brim instead of the firmer brim I was familiar on New Era hats. Clyde responded to my email the very next day and explained that older versions of these hats had softer brims. He then located the next size up in the newer version with the firmer brim and waived the shipping to send it back out to me. I also picked up one of the NY Giants Heritage hats. These are 50% wool and 50% polyester and shrink up nicely after a bit of wear. I definitely prefer these to any of the 100% polyester on field hats from New Era. They are hands down, the best fitting hats I own. And Mickey's Place has, like, all of them. While I have historically ordered from the Hall of Fame store (which also has excellent customer service), the selection at Mickey's Place is excellent. I would definitely recommend shopping here! Looking forward to visiting in person this summer and snagging one of the Brooklyn Dodgers heritage caps. read more

Well I saw a hat I really liked on the Mickey's Place website so I wanted to know more about how that hat looked in person so I called up the actual store in Cooperstown NY. I got Vincent on the phone and let me tell you... this guy was great. He took such good care of me. Not only did he go downstairs to look for something for me... but he found a hat that I have always always wanted. He kindly took my info and sent me all tracking information and before I new it... the hat was in Los Angeles in my collection. More like 3.5 stars than four, but didn't want to lower it down to three. Here's the deal, I love baseball. I love collecting baseball caps, particularly ones of the 'Cooperstown Collection'. I have a bit of a big dome, so selection is limited for me. Knowing that Mickey's Place has an extensive collection that I could try on in person during my recent visit to Cooperstown (first time in 18 years), I was pretty thrilled. That thrill lasted until I went in there and there were three college-aged kids working the counter where the large wall of hats are. I'm in my 20's, I'm not some curmudgeon, but I was pissed with the piss poor service. The three kids spent the time ignoring myself and other customers, spending their time texting and being generally surly when asked to grab a hat. Sorry, but your job is to get the hat I'm looking for. That's it. You work in the coolest store in a tourist town, have a Coke and a smile and chill the eff out. As far as shopping there goes, I'm going to stick with the website, even when I go back to Cooperstown. The store is great. A little cramped, but you can't beat their extensive selection of stuff you generally only find on a website. They destroy the Baseball Hall of Fame gift store, by far. This is what the HoF Gift Store should strive to be like. Should have been a 5, but 1.5 stars get knocked off for piss poor service. I hope the website treats me better! read more

A few days back I attempted to order a hat from this website and was given a notice that they couldnt calculate my shipping fees so I decided to order the same product elsewhere. Today I found that I had been charged 3 times for the same item. There was no confirmation email about the charges or an alert of any kind. These are some seedy business practices by either a bunch of charlatans or incompetents. Their contact number doesnt even work. I have filed a claim with my bank and hope to be refunded soon but this is unacceptable and I urge anyone to think twice about ordering online from this sketchy business. read more

I've been looking for a Boston Braves hat forever, they had the exact one I wanted with the green visor,and a stitched " B ". I ordered it on a Monday night and it came Thursday afternoon wrapped nice in sturdy box undamaged I was impressed,the hat was not crushed.. WOW . I will definitely order from them again the selection of vintage hats that the run off the mill stores here don't carry is perfect,so nobody will be able to copy the hat easily which is hard these days due to the net. The pricing is actually even with the stores you just have to wait for delivery,but they sent me a coupon for free delivery next time so they've hooked me.. I was in Cooperstown for the 2016 hall of fame induction and this was the first store I ended up stopping in, and it also ended up being the best. I LOVE that they sold shirts for all the minor league teams, I've been looking for a good Vegas 51's shirt for a while and the one they had here was great, I liked it better than the ones I found on the Vegas team's website. They have a good hat selection too and a decent cards section. The prices were pretty fair. I didn't get to check out all the stores in town, so personally I would check out other places before I went back here, but if you're new in town definitely hit this place up! read more

I've been to Cooperstown twice in the last two years and Mickey's Place has got to have the best overall selection of baseball hats and shirts of all the places on Main St. Their minor league baseball hat inventory is especially impressive and second to none. They have a huge assortment of Franchise fitted hats which I like a lot over the standard baseball hats. My really cool find on a recent trip was a Wright & Ditson St Louis Cardinals shirt with a logo of a cardinal in a pitching stance which is an alternate logo from the fifties. read more

Mickeys Place is the place to go for a baseball cap from the past,also the current team caps on and off the field,there also the minor league teams which no other store in town had. Don't miss the Yankee musuem in the rea of the store or all the stuff hanging from the walls,pictures, signed basebals and lots of info from the owner ,who's a wealth of info on basball. The store has all the baseball cards your mother threw away. If your there in season there's a hotdog joint in the basement and a bench outside holding some of the locals who give out tips on where to go in town,ask for Sara when stopping in as she really runs the place , not the owner Vinnie, who just says he does planning and clean-ups. read more

NEVER again. I ordered an item online, paid like 50 dollars with the shipping. I received it in the mail, only to find that it was damaged. So when I called to see how to go about exchanging it, I was informed that I was the one who had to pay to ship it back to them, regardless of the fact that THEY were the ones who screwed up. They were completely rude, and didn't care one way or another if I was a satisfied customer. They had a very, "sucks for you" attitude. read more

Bad business. My girlfriend and I spent the afternoon in town yesterday and purchased two items at the store. When I got home I noticed the shirt I purchased as a gift was defective (must be a second). It's 2 hours round trip to Cooperstown from my home. I called and asked if they would hold the size I need for an exchange and I would be returning to the area in 2-4 weeks. They refused as their policy is to hold an item for only 24 hours. Bad managerial decision. Mickey strikes out with a runner in scoring position. There are plenty of other stores in town who treat customers much better. read more
