Recently while in the Biloxi/Gulf Coast area I did just that and stayed at Chateau Blessy and it was an EXCELLENT choice. The owners, Walter and Katherine, made me feel like I was at home and apart of their family. Chateau Blessey like most properties on the Gulf Coast received damage from Katrina, however was one of the only that survived. The history the owners shared was wonderful as well as the overall hospitality. If you visit the Biloxi/Gulport, MS area, either for business or pleasure, and do not stay at Chateau Blessy you are missing a wonderful experience. We stayed in Key West, a studio that's great for a couple, and used the free bikes to ride across the bridge to Biloxi (kayaks are provided, too). Everything was neat as a pin and well-maintained. Considering a move tonight! Its location is THE only thing going for this place. It is OLD. It is not well maintained. Went to Walmart for a fan as its window unit wouldn't handle the 82 degree night heat. There was condensation dripping from the ceiling. There was no shampoo. No full shower door. Two towels. Rotten steps. Dirty porch. The room was small and the bathroom smaller. If asked to describe the place in five words: "It is old and overpriced."

Recently spent 3 nights at The Hemingway. The rooms are well designed and appointed. Location is good, except for the train that roars by early am and late on the daily. Room had an ice bucket but no ice? "The Inn's" coffee shop never opened for the 3 days of my stay. The real problem with this property,Hemingway, occurred on day 2 and 3 of my stay when it was impossible to enter the property. I, and others, were left standing for over 30 minutes while "management" tried to have "someone" come over and check why the keyless entry at the property's common, and only, entry point was inoperable!! I only got in because some other guest exited the entry point. This made my dinner reservation impossible to keep and there where NO alternatives open for dinner in town!!! The owners/managers made no real apology and of course no other accommodation was offered for this inexcusable situation. At these prices you would probably be better served staying at The Roost if you are determined to stay in Ocean Springs, at The Pearl in Bay St Louis, or The Grand Hotel in Fairhope, AL.

Casinos, the beach, and restaurants are only a short drive away. My boyfriend and I stayed in the "London Storm" room, which is beautiful. A couple of the other rooms looked a little less contemporary based on the online photos, but they may very well be wonderful as well. Breakfast was fantastic, and included fresh eggs from the chickens in the yard. Since we stayed over Christmas, we met pretty much the whole family, which gave it an even more home-y atmosphere. We felt very welcome, and would definitely stay there again! Hopefully at a better time of year though, so to better enjoy the porch and large property. Oh, and bring earplugs to block out the rooster in the morning, unless you're a very sound sleeper!

Jason prepared a to go breakfast for me due to the fact that I had to leave at 4:00 am!! Requested service left unanswered. This lack of service continues to the bar and restaurant onsite. We were there for 30 minutes prior to them getting eggs and biscuits to the buffet. Even though I am a Diamond member and get credits to cover the cost of breakfast, I will be leaving the property tomorrow and buying breakfast. No Southern hospitality nor charm, pick a different location.

It is an easy drive to Gulf Port and Biloxi but it is far enough out to avoid the hustle and bustle. The price was unbeatable too. You won't be able to find this kind of down home feel in such a luxurious place at this price anywhere else. It is a 12 acre estate that has 3 buildings with rooms. There are 4 rooms on the 2nd floor in the main house, 3 rooms in the building behind the main house (2 upstairs and 1 downstairs), and a 2 bedroom Carriage House. All the rooms are decorated elegantly with antique furniture. The bathrooms have jacuzzi tubs and are just a luxurious as the rooms themselves, especially the McGavock Suite which as a double jacuzzi with golden swan faucet. The grounds have a gazebo, fountain, swimming pool, small chapel with beautiful stained glass, and there is a bayou off to the right rear. The Inn Keeper, Bobby, is so nice and fun to talk to. I didn't for one second feel like I was in a hotel, but was just stopping by my best friends house for the evening. He was so courteous and made me feel right at home. As a matter of fact after I arrived, I heated up my leftovers in the microwave and sat on the couch and watched tv with him. I sure hope I'm in the area in the future so I can stay here again. This place was a wonderful treat which I highly recommend for those looking for R&R away from it all.

I mentioned it to the owner who, for lack of a better term was extremely rude. I tried to even give her some advice with ozone machines, having her ac's inspected and she just because even more irate. I have owned 100+ year old houses before and kind of knew what I was talking about. We were at a wedding. I had looked at her venue a few years ago but decided against this location just for this reason. But before I mentioned this she did yell at me she was working on it. This is when I brought up this was the reason a few years ago we had decided against the venue. I can not believe this is safe for people to spend the night at this location.
