Sadly, I never got to work with them - just unreliable. I had the guy come to my place to do a quote. He came and insisted I need plans first before he will provide any estimate - was not willing to provide even a ballpark. So then I got plans drawn up and called/text and did not get a response. And finally I got my permit approved and text the mobile number - figured I will try again since it was a referral. Didn't get a response. Couple of days later, I get a rude long text back from one of the owners that I should call their landline phone number another day and leave a message. I only got this response AFTER I texted again and mentioned a Yelp post was about to be made for no response. Are you kidding me?! I already called you a thousand times. We started out just wanting to extend and cover our patio but after communicating with Rudy about our roof we decided a new roof was in order as well. 5 days of hard work and we have a beautiful new roof that finally has vents in it and a gorgeous covered patio my wife and I have been dreaming of. I must admit I never used their services, but today a driver of one of their trucks pulled a road rage incident on us. He was driving erratically on Pacific Coast Hwy, smoking something in a pipe, then threw his very full drink at our car. Our family owns many properties, both personal and rentals, throughout San Pedro and Long Beach, and we have been relieved to have found Rudy's Construction. Typically, when managing properties on the scale we do, it is hard to find companies that are consistent. They start strong, do great on one job, but when you need them repeatedly they falter, are hard to reach, in some cases do not even bill you and you are chasing them to pay! Not Rudy's, they have it covered all around. They make our work feel important, keep in consistent contact with us and we do not have to wonder about billing questions. The work has been excellent, and they do it all. Plumbing, electric, paint, there is no end to the jobs we use them for and we never have reason to hesitate to have them do any job, including jobs that others claimed could not be done in the manner we wanted. I was referred to Rudy's construction by a coworker who is related to Rudy and I was excited to have them come out and look at our garage that needs mayor work done. I let him know we wanted to extend the garage and possibly add a unit to the garage. I also requested an estimate for some smaller projects inside the house (demo a wall for a larger window, install a light fixture, garbage disposal etc.) however I never heard back from Rudy or his team after the initial visit. Rudy said he would refer me to an architect he knows to get the blue prints started and provide quotes for the above projects. I called TWICE asking for these estimates but never heard back from anyone and it's been 3 weeks. What does a gal have to do to get a garage redone and some handy work around the house?!? Really disappointed in this company. I was trying to give them thousands of dollars of my hard earned money to get MAYOR work done on my property but they obviously don't want my business. A neighbor dropped off his business card on my door step while I was purchasing my new home. I was getting several bids for all the work on the house that had to be done and included him as well. From the moment I called, Alma was incredibly articulate and professional to book the consultation. We setup a meeting that Rudy was on-time for. I went over all the details of the work that included new electrical re-wiring, removal of old water heater, installation of tankless water heater, new main electrical panel, tear-down of wall, popcorn ceiling removal, patch work, painting of the entire interior and covered patio area, refinishing of floors, installation of new fixtures, moving a few fixtures, bathroom vents, re-layout of appliances in laundry room and movement of gas line to swap appliances in the kitchen. A lot of work. He was really great about staying on target. Rudy and his team walk you through process of pulling permits with the city of Torrance and it couldn't be easier! He gave me a time estimate of 3-5 weeks. He finished all the work in 3 plus a week for the floors so I could get into the home before the school year started---Still within the time frame originally quoted. Communication is really the key with me going with Rudy's Service. Their estimate is incredibly detailed. You know exactly what is going to be done and/or what's included in the work estimate. Their paperwork is also incredibly easy to read and Alma, who works in the office was great at clarifying any questions. Rudy's service made the process as painless as possible. Rudy and his guys were great and I never felt uncomfortable being a single woman. With more horror stories now-a-days about contractors swindling people or taking money and not finishing the job, its incredibly hard to trust someone. Rudy has a good aura about him (if you believe in that kinda thing) and if I added things onto the to-do list, it was always an "ok" and I never felt like I was a burden or my request was an annoyance. An updated invoice followed immediately after to review and sign. Rudy was great at educating me on different materials and it was incredibly reassuring when making decisions. Pricing was not the least expensive nor the most expensive. If I had to rate him on the spectrum, I would say he's more middle on the scale. But going with Rudy makes it totally worth it because it will be done right. Hands down, great service. Quality craftsmanship with no shortcuts. I've recommended to everyone I know in the area and plan on using him again when I have to do the perimeter fence and kitchen remodel. read more

These folks are idots. I called looking to get some work done on a rental. The first question I asked was "Do you take credit cards because I'm not local?". No, the woman who I spoke to, but we'll bill you. Great, but they were late by a day showing up to do the estimate, when I called looking for the estimate, she said I had to prepay a deposit. Rudy did such an amazing job remodeling my parents' kitchen so when I needed work done on my house, I knew he was the one for the job. Alma was very thorough and helpful explaining the paperwork for all the work we were looking to have done. We ended up upgrading our electrical panel, remodeling two bathrooms, stuccoed and painted the outside of our house, replacing our whole roof and other smaller jobs. The prices are a little high, but honestly I did not mind so much because I am tired of sifting through people who are not licensed or do not have follow through for small jobs.
