Sadly, I never got to work with them - just unreliable. I had the guy come to my place to do a quote. He came and insisted I need plans first before he will provide any estimate - was not willing to provide even a ballpark. So then I got plans drawn up and called/text and did not get a response. And finally I got my permit approved and text the mobile number - figured I will try again since it was a referral. Didn't get a response. Couple of days later, I get a rude long text back from one of the owners that I should call their landline phone number another day and leave a message. I only got this response AFTER I texted again and mentioned a Yelp post was about to be made for no response. Are you kidding me?! I already called you a thousand times. How about YOU pick up the phone and CALL me back. Clearly they don't care for much business read more

Everything went well, work was completed quickly and with great quality. Price was reasonable, never tried to pump us for extra work. He did what was necessary which was very much appreciated! read more

Rudy, Alma, and their team are more than amazing! Alma was extremely responsive, knowledgeable, and helpful when we were picking tile for our shower. She was able to describe differences in quality when the team at floor and décor couldn't! tell me a thing! We went with Rudy's construction because we felt comfortable and understood exactly what we were going to get as a finished product. The team of guys working were prompt, respectful, and communicated with us. They even recommended we make our niche a little bigger to ensure our shampoo fit. I was not thinking about that and would have been disappointed if the cut out was just for looks. They went above and beyond! I could not recommend this team enough!! We will be returning customers for sure! read more

They did what was asked and didn't and din't push for more, but I gave them more work because their prices were fair.

Rudy and his group of guys are great at what they do and will 100% be using them again and recommend them for any job. We started out just wanting to extend and cover our patio but after communicating with Rudy about our roof we decided a new roof was in order as well. 5 days of hard work and we have a beautiful new roof that finally has vents in it and a gorgeous covered patio my wife and I have been dreaming of. Key notes about the service are that Alma working at the office is very good at helping you understand what is being done, the crew is very well mannered and hard working, and the best part is that they cleaned up everything every day before they went home. Thank you again Rudy for making our vision become a reality. read more

I must admit I never used their services, but today a driver of one of their trucks pulled a road rage incident on us. He was driving erratically on Pacific Coast Hwy, smoking something in a pipe, then threw his very full drink at our car. When we came to a stop, he started yelling at us, perhaps because I took his picture, and he didn't appreciate it. We did not engage him. The guy was clearly unstable. Rudy and his team went above and beyond to replace our roof and build us the covered patio we have been wanting since we bought our house. They were on time and got both jobs done in less than a week and left zero mess behind. Rudy's daughter Alma was so efficient with giving us our estimate, sending us contracts and responding so quickly to any questions we had. We will definitely be using Rudy's company for ALL our future home projects. read more

My wife and I wanted to personally Thank ALL of Rudy's Construction team and staff members for a wonderful job they did on completing our master bathroom shower remodel project. From the start, Rudy and Alma (his office manager) were fantastic providing us their most professional ideas in designing our shower remodel. Rudy's attention to detail did not go unnoticed, and during construction all of his team members were organized, respectful, honest, professional and just was a good experience. Also, we appreciate their diligence on completing the job in a timely matter since this was a major remodel to our master bathroom area. We would highly recommend Rudy's Construction for any of your house needs and we look forward on using them again for future house projects. Attached are some finished pictures. Thanks again Rudy for a well job done!!! read more

Rudy, his crew and staff are amazing; very responsive, reliable and fairly priced. Rudy's worked on a remodel before I moved into my home and we had them back out to replace a sliding door and window. I'll use them again for my next project! read more

Our kitchen cabinets came to life after their painting and refurbishment. Quality work, and especially appreciate their clean process. Very fair price. Will use them for other rehab/new construction. Plus, Alma is an excellent communicator, a plus with a general contractor. read more

My husband and I were both happy with the work Rudy and his crew did for our home. We had several estimates to replace our old roof, and between Rudy's estimate and his efficient, friendly and patient office help (his daughter, Alma, and Maribel), we decided to go with Rudy's Construction. I can't praise them enough for our beautiful roof and the opportunity to see such hard workers, expertise and professionalism. ( on time, cleaned up after, zero wasted minutes). I especially loved how well they worked together. We could hear them talking and even laughing, while enjoying their hard work......and it was very hard work! They all got along and treated each other with respect, and most important, they got the work done! To me, that reflects back to their boss, Rudy. Our daughter and son-in-law had work done by Rudy's and they were very pleased. We referred Rudy's to our neighbors, who were pleased with their roof repair. Now, we have decided to call on them again, to put a Urethane Epoxy Paint on our front and back porches. ( a long, overdo, needed job). We are confident they will do another awesome job for us. Thank You Rudy and your fabulous hard working crew, and Thank You Alma and Maribel for coordinating e-mails, correspondence, suggestions and much patience in our decisions. ( No Pressure!) You have all been a real pleasure to work with! Mary S. read more

Rudy was both very professional and responsive in replacing our roof and repainting our home's exterior. He finished both well within the HOA's deadline after my first contractor backed out. His attention to detail and follow through are outstanding. His woodworking is excellent and Rudy provides the best recommendations on options. The roof, skylight and fascia wood used are top quality and much better than the original construction. Jeff B. read more

Our family owns many properties, both personal and rentals, throughout San Pedro and Long Beach, and we have been relieved to have found Rudy's Construction. Typically, when managing properties on the scale we do, it is hard to find companies that are consistent. They start strong, do great on one job, but when you need them repeatedly they falter, are hard to reach, in some cases do not even bill you and you are chasing them to pay! Not Rudy's, they have it covered all around. They make our work feel important, keep in consistent contact with us and we do not have to wonder about billing questions. The work has been excellent, and they do it all. Plumbing, electric, paint, there is no end to the jobs we use them for and we never have reason to hesitate to have them do any job, including jobs that others claimed could not be done in the manner we wanted. In addition, they are always timely in arrival and finish the job in remarkably good speed. We fully intend to keep using Rudy's in the future, heaven knows we have the work! read more

I was referred to Rudy's construction by a coworker who is related to Rudy and I was excited to have them come out and look at our garage that needs mayor work done. I let him know we wanted to extend the garage and possibly add a unit to the garage. I also requested an estimate for some smaller projects inside the house (demo a wall for a larger window, install a light fixture, garbage disposal etc.) however I never heard back from Rudy or his team after the initial visit. Rudy said he would refer me to an architect he knows to get the blue prints started and provide quotes for the above projects. I called TWICE asking for these estimates but never heard back from anyone and it's been 3 weeks. What does a gal have to do to get a garage redone and some handy work around the house?!? Really disappointed in this company. I was trying to give them thousands of dollars of my hard earned money to get MAYOR work done on my property but they obviously don't want my business. I would not recommend them considering they don't care about earning your business. read more

A neighbor dropped off his business card on my door step while I was purchasing my new home. I was getting several bids for all the work on the house that had to be done and included him as well. From the moment I called, Alma was incredibly articulate and professional to book the consultation. We setup a meeting that Rudy was on-time for. I went over all the details of the work that included new electrical re-wiring, removal of old water heater, installation of tankless water heater, new main electrical panel, tear-down of wall, popcorn ceiling removal, patch work, painting of the entire interior and covered patio area, refinishing of floors, installation of new fixtures, moving a few fixtures, bathroom vents, re-layout of appliances in laundry room and movement of gas line to swap appliances in the kitchen. A lot of work. He was really great about staying on target. Rudy and his team walk you through process of pulling permits with the city of Torrance and it couldn't be easier! He gave me a time estimate of 3-5 weeks. He finished all the work in 3 plus a week for the floors so I could get into the home before the school year started---Still within the time frame originally quoted. Communication is really the key with me going with Rudy's Service. Their estimate is incredibly detailed. You know exactly what is going to be done and/or what's included in the work estimate. Their paperwork is also incredibly easy to read and Alma, who works in the office was great at clarifying any questions. Rudy's service made the process as painless as possible. Rudy and his guys were great and I never felt uncomfortable being a single woman. With more horror stories now-a-days about contractors swindling people or taking money and not finishing the job, its incredibly hard to trust someone. Rudy has a good aura about him (if you believe in that kinda thing) and if I added things onto the to-do list, it was always an "ok" and I never felt like I was a burden or my request was an annoyance. An updated invoice followed immediately after to review and sign. Rudy was great at educating me on different materials and it was incredibly reassuring when making decisions. Pricing was not the least expensive nor the most expensive. If I had to rate him on the spectrum, I would say he's more middle on the scale. But going with Rudy makes it totally worth it because it will be done right. Hands down, great service. Quality craftsmanship with no shortcuts. I've recommended to everyone I know in the area and plan on using him again when I have to do the perimeter fence and kitchen remodel. read more

Rudy's Service Although this is a mom and pop company who work out of their home if they are going to be working with the public, they need to work on their customers service skills; I had called and talked to Alma, told her I have very small job for them and if they could come out and give me a estimate. She asked me to take a picture of this small project; took the picture and emailed it to her and didn't hear from her. The next day I called and left a message...still as of today I have not heard from her..I know the job is small, but the courtesy should have been was to return my call and let me know the job is way too small for a trip to give a estimate...I live down the street in the same town...I had other work that needs to be done that I need a estimate that I was going offer..but now you lost a customer..no, I do not recommend Rudy's Service (Handyman). read more

These folks are idots. I called looking to get some work done on a rental. The first question I asked was "Do you take credit cards because I'm not local?". No, the woman who I spoke to, but we'll bill you. Great, but they were late by a day showing up to do the estimate, when I called looking for the estimate, she said I had to prepay a deposit. I repeted that this would slow the process down and that she never told me about a deposit. Long story short, look elsewhere, like the first line they are idots! read more

Rudy did such an amazing job remodeling my parents' kitchen so when I needed work done on my house, I knew he was the one for the job. Alma was very thorough and helpful explaining the paperwork for all the work we were looking to have done. We ended up upgrading our electrical panel, remodeling two bathrooms, stuccoed and painted the outside of our house, replacing our whole roof and other smaller jobs. Rudy and his workers work quickly and do a wonderful job. I can depend on them to do any jobs, big or small, and at the most reasonable price! It's also very convenient that they can do it all as opposed to several crews working different projects and coordinating with one another. I always recommend Rudy to anyone who is looking to have work done on their home. read more

Our company has used Rudy's Handyman Services for years from anything from a small job of changing some lights to a big job of putting in a roof. Called today to schedule an appointment to get a quote from Rudy's and was asked what my job entailed. When the receptionist found out it was a small job, I was politely told that they were "blessed" with too much business and had no one to send out for me. What the heck? You advertise yourself as a Handyman service but only for the big jobs? Really unprofessional. LHD read more

I have used Rudy's Handyman Service a few times now. Very honest, trustworthy, and professional. They went above and beyond to ensure the job was done right. read more

I appreciated Rudy's skilled handy man service. It is difficult to find people who are skilled in what they do. The prices are a little high, but honestly I did not mind so much because I am tired of sifting through people who are not licensed or do not have follow through for small jobs. Rudy has both follow through and is licensed. It is a family business, and I like that. He came to do the estimate, but sent two really nice competent workers to do the job. I have had a good experience and would call them again definitely. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of five is that I just found them to be a little pricey for my budget. It just means I have to do a little at a time as far as home repairs/improvements. I would definitely recommend them. read more

I have used Rudy's Handyman Service for several different projects. Everything from installing new doors, drywall repairs, replacing damaged fascia on a complex and fixing handrails. They really can do it all and care about quality. Rudy is honest about what you really need and will not upsell. I trust his recommendations. Rudy's employees are courteous and professional. The girls in the home/office take good care of you and are great at follow up. It's a good idea to leave a credit card on file with them for those of you managing properties. It really helps with scheduling and saves time from leaving a deposit. I am a pool contractor and property manager so I really appreciate seeing good construction workers. read more

I contacted Rudy's Service on three different occasions to get estimates and they only returned my call once to tell me that someone would call me back. Our realtor personally recommended Rudy's Services for the renovation of our home in Redondo Beach and we could't be happier with the outcome. Rudy, his employees, and his subcontractors were all extremely prompt, professional, speedy and efficient. We received excellent customer service from Rudy's office staff (Alma was wonderful!) and we are very pleased with the work that was done on our home. Rudy and his team were knowledgable and helped us in making important decisions about the layout of the house; from framing out new closets to rearranging the plumbing in the bathroom. Myself, family members, friends and neighbors have all used Rudy's Services for small to enormous jobs. All were done well, with competitive pricing and easy people to deal with. The finished efforts have been amazing-a total remodel in Malibu is a true showplace now from the bamboo floors to the granite counters and new windows, doors, decks. My friends in Rolling Hills have a new roof, a new septic tank and stables with corrals built from the ground up. Great work/workers! read more

I had a new front door and lock installed five months ago. Imagine my surprise to discover I could no longer lock the front door a week ago Saturday! I left a few voice mails for the door installers, with no response. So last Friday I went to Yelp to get the job done. Rudy was here within about 15 minutes to give me an estimate. Later, he finished the job quickly and successfully at a very reasonable price. Yay for Rudy! He's my handyman now! read more
