    Super Nachos
    Sarah O.

This has been a childhood favorite of mine...well, since I was a child. I'm a fan of their nachos because they bake them in the oven and ensure that there is plenty of cheese-- a big pet peeve of mine is not enough cheese to chip ratio! I order the super nachos which have chili on top as well as one of their combination plates. What I love about my Mexican and Tex-Mex is cheese, so that's probably why Rudy's is a favorite-- you will never be disappointed by the amount of cheese. Because the dishes are baked, they come out piping hot. Service here has always been great, too. A great spot for a date, friends, or spending time with family-- really you can't go wrong with Rudy's.

This restaurant had an Arizona vibe with the atmosphere. The salsa that comes with the chips are delicious, really good! Ordered the Tex-Mex Combination Plate Four with a chimichanga, enchilada and taco. The meal was delicious and came out relatively quick after ordering. The service was good and everything on the menu is affordable compared to similar restaurants.

Ordered the Combination Plate twice here and I figured the best parts have always been the beef taco. They're very tasty! If I'm gonna be back again I'd go straight for the tacos. The rest of the plate is very mediocre.

I came for dinner with a few friends. I would say that the food is ok for a Mexican dinner. If you are not looking for anything authentic and you are near the Teele Square area, this is the place for you. Note that when you are ordering a beef burrito or enchilada, it's grounded beef.

Gold margarita. Queso & salsa. Chips on chips.

If you were playing a game of telephone with a Mexican person on one end and the chef of Rudy's on the other, the confusing end result would be this meal. Que rico! $7 margaritas. I got the Gold which has a hint of orange, and the flavor and strength were decent. The queso was good on flavor and spice but would have been better if the consistency was less watery. Comes with salsa which was chunky and tasted pretty fresh. Lots of dippage going on, and they'll bring you more chips. Que pena! Perusing the menu, we realize that these dishes sound pretty huge, so my group of 4 girls split the Combo Plate #4 and the Enchilada Sampler. They brought out the plates, and all we see are waves of rice, beans, sauces, and cheese. Underneath all of this are tortillas in various forms wrapping a variety of meats. There was just so much going on here, and everything blended together after a while. The refried beans on the enchilada plate were paste-like and tasted pretty disgusting. Worse than some canned varieties I've had. The black beans and guacamole on the combo plate were a better side. The taco (ground beef, shredded lettuce and tomatoes, crunchy shell) was just a slight step up from Taco Bell. The chicken inside the chimichanga was flavorful, but the encasing tasted a bit stale. Since we shared an app and 2 entrees, the price of the meal was quite reasonable, and all 4 of us came away full. However, our taste buds were pretty dazed and confused. This place doesn't even try to pretend its food is authentic Mexican fare. However, I think Texans would still scoff at this "Tex-Mex" establishment. Si regreso, solo voy a beber margaritas.

The ceviche was a little different in that it was formed in a Patty but was tasty. I chose the beef and probably should have known it would have some gristle but it still tasted good and was filling. They have a special of a takate beer and a shot of house tequila for $12. Hey, you know exactly what you're getting with that. Their house Margarita was a little light on the alcohol but had a good flavor. Service was Top notch. The main dining room was not that busy at the time we were there but they had a big party going on upstairs. The rooftop rested in the bar looks like it would be very popular all the time and was perfect for the large party they had going on. They have an elevator that goes to the top so it was easy for them to wheel up a dozen fancy margaritas. Restaurants did out and I would go back if I was in the area simply because it had the best patio. Many of the restaurants in the area or downstairs in the basement of a multi-floor unit. This one was unique and that the patio was street level and they do have a second story of a rooftop area.

Though being down the road from an institution like Naco was...a choice. But basically everyone I talked to told me it was generic. Their decor looked generic. It's in Kendall, which produces homogeneity on an industrial scale. But it can't be that bad...right? And it isn't. Bad, that is. But it sure ain't good. I'm giving this three stars because the bartender was such a nice guy and was so pumped about the food you gotta admire the moxy. But the fact is it's exactly what you might expect. Generic, inoffensive food that has as much to do with Mexican food as a crunchwrap. You can do worse. But you can also do a lot better.

Bowl: Maybe "Plate" would be a more accurate description? The grilled chicken was more tender than it looked, not at all dry; the pico de gallo was very fresh, with just the right amount of tomato acidity; the guacamole was smooth, sweet and sour, both great accompaniments to the chicken. The rice was perfectly cooked, with each piece distinct, showcasing both the slight acidity of the tomato and the umami of the chicken broth. However, the corn tortilla was just average, bland and tasteless, not much different from what you'd buy at a supermarket.

The door didn't stay close for long. Countless people kept coming in and out. There are 2 lines for food. I ordered the Super Burrito with Steak, Chicken, White Rice, Black Beans, Pico de Gallo, Sour Cream, Salsa Verde and Mexican Coke. It was so good we came back the next day. It's about $15-25 per person depending on what you order. Seating is first come first serve so you might have to wait for seats to open. There are seats on 3 levels. Not ideal for children. It does get loud inside. Felipe's might be the only reason I come back to Boston!

We walked in without reservations and they were fully booked for the night, but they do have bar seating and a couple of side tables where you can grab a quick bite from the full menu. The ambiance is a 10/10. The decor is insane in the best way. The red chandeliers are stunning, the bar setup is perfection, and the low lighting with the table centerpieces really ties everything together. Even the bathrooms were insanely beautiful which is crazy to say but it stood out. It's rare to find restrooms that are that clean and well-designed. The drinks were great. I can't remember the name of the cocktail I got, but it had red sugar on the rim and it perfectly matched the whole aesthetic of the restaurant. For food, I got the steak taco and the fish taco and both were delicious. We were just stopping by for a quick bite before heading to the movies , but I really wish we could have stayed for a full meal because everything was amazing. Hopefully we'll get the chance to come back again one day.
