As the caregiver of a person that has need of Psychiatric services I find this practice to have…read moresomething that many lack: Patience and Compassion. I have interacted with 2 of the Psychiatrists in this practice in that capacity; Dr Ghosh and Dr. Tan. Both of these Doctors take the necessary time to understand the issues surrounding their patients needs and show a penchant to avoid over prescribing potentially unnecessary medicines. Most importantly however that I noted is most Psychiatrists I've ever interacted with just focus on the maintenance of a patients' mental health, both of these practitioners have shown their willingness to create a road map of recovery that actively looks to see their patient overcome their mental health challenges. There is a stigma in our culture about mental health issues. Considering 36% of the US population reported some level of incidence of Anxiety or Depression related disorders (i.e just over 1/3 of our population) it seems silly that this stigma even still exists. With practitioners like these it makes it easier to cope with the challenges of mental illness.

Over the years my sons have been to several different physicians, but about ten years ago or so I…read morestumbled across Dr. Walter. As a retired nurse I'm very picky about the physicians my sons see, and I couldn't be more satisfied with Dr. Walter. We've experienced all types of visits from regular check-ups, sick visits and emergency visits (including middle of the night calls). Dr. Walter and his staff always call us back, and even in the wee morning hours are pleasant. I'm sure there are times I've had to wait longer than I've wanted to for an appointment, but off the top of my head I don't remember any. The staff are very nice, helpful, considerate and caring, but Dr. Walter is the reason I go there. He listens not only to my children's concerns, but mine as well. He's thorough, kind and very patient. I'd give him ten stars if the rating went that high.

We wait no longer than 5-10 minutes and when calling treated with the utmost care and respect. We had left our previous ped because of the staff and making us feel badgered when we would call for a concern. This has never happened in all the years with Dr Gellman, we are so blessed to have her as she our two oldest grew into adulthood and continues care with our youngest since birth

Over the last 15 years, I have had the privilege to have Dr. Carter as part of my health team, and…read moreit's been extremely healing and helpful. I have had consistent health issues from staph infections and shingles, to problems with my nervous and lymphatic system, anemia and chronic allergies at a young age. Some of these conditions have been harder to treat, owing to the lack of a well-known root cause and/or diagnosis; this has been extremely frustrating, not only because of the pain and illness, but because of the lack of empathy, care and love I have experienced in the traditional medical system. Dr. Carter has been the one doctor that has really listened to me in a very healing way. He has validated my concerns and has not not rushed to diagnose something just to check a box. Instead of making assumptions, he has patiently walked with me through this journey to health with a lot of loving care, empowering me in every step of the way to take control of my health. I have had experiences with many doctors that simply don't show care or empathy; with Dr. Carter, I have felt that he cares for me as a patient in a holistic way, and this in itself has been incredibly healing for me. Not only that, but his evaluations and recommendations have been the most effective throughout my healing journey, as a result of his holistic, personal, and balanced approach. As an anthropologist, I have studied the traditional and fundamental role of healthcare providers over time and in a variety of cultures: a trusted person who cares for the total wellbeing of their patient. Dr. Carter truly embodies this model of care. It is a real privilege to be under the care of Dr. Carter, and I highly recommend him.
