It is so worth paying extra here for better quality and more filling meat with personalised and pretty good service; well the latter has ben the case every time I have come to this establishment. Also I am not much of a bacon person; in fact I really despise bacon or any pig related meat; yet when I was at a friends house for brunch one Sunday morning I decided to give the bacon a go as it smelt so fresh as it was being cooked. Tried it; divine and I had to ask this particular friend of mine where she brought the bacon from, and she told me it was from TJ's here on Darling Street. It was like wow. The only butcher where I will literally "bring home the bacon" from while I was living in Sydney, and on those occasions when I come back to Sydney to visit and stay at the family home in nearby Rozelle.

Try and find them anywhere! Kogarah Best has them and Pigs trotters. I love it of course because Pork seems to be their thing. I recently asked for marrow bone for my culinary pursuits and the staff were so happy that I did. They'll cut anything up as you like it. Probably the busiest butchery in town and I've never seen them without half a dozen customers inside. Prices are low and reasonable. I just bought some lamb ribs for $2.99 kg. I'm about to go H.A.M in the kitchen on them. *didn't see wagyu here.

Pennys serve very high quality produce at high quality prices and they have a strong and loyal following in the community. They do sell some organic produce but they are best known for the preparation of their meats with wonderful marinades. I went for Pork Fillet with Sage and Prosciutto, Thai Coconut Chicken Skewers and Thin Beef Sausages. They sell meat that makes a good cook of anyone and this from a woman who only eats fish and chicken and yet cooks all sorts of red meat delights for my family. The fillet in particular receiving a very satisfied nod. They sell all manner of accompaniments too, though the delicious Beerenberg relishes are nearly twice the price of Harris Farm Markets up the road. The rest of their meat is cheap too, with all kinds of cuts of beef, pork, chicken and lamb. Parking can be a pain but if there isn't a spot on the street across the road, then take the next right and there is 15 minute parking in that cross street. Plenty of time to walk down there and get your supply for the week.
