Fantastic donuts- some of the best I've ever had and very unique. Great service as well. Highly recommend when visiting Rockland.

Went around 10 am and they were sold out so had to return the next day at 8 am when they opened. Some were sold out due to pre order so just prepare to get there at open for your best bet at all the options! Very good nice and airy dough, many flavors, and BIG! Be ready to split!! read more

Last year we had a donut and shared it - this year we upped our game - lemon drop for me and mocha latte for Wayne - who remarked as we were leaving that they "weigh a lot!" These are more a dessert meal than a donut - and soooo delish! Service was great and you've got to love a place that wears their love in the decor! read more

These are the best doughnuts in the ENTIRE world. Tip: If you eat them slowly they do not have any calories .

Wow what a donut gem we found in Rockland's Main Street. The owner was very authentic and genuine. Best donuts maybe we have ever had. The casual ambiance was very cool. Great donuts more like pastries at $5.00 each but worth it! read more

Ah, not as enamored with Ruckus Donuts as much as most of my fellow Yelpers. We ordered half a dozen this morning and consumed a few at a nearby park soon afterwards. Honestly, they "look great", but they are all the same basic donut, the only differences are the various toppings and glazes they put on top. For a standard Glazed style donut, that's fine, but for a Boston Creme, it becomes a sloppy mess (the custard just oozes out of the hole as soon as you pick it up, there's nothing to prevent that from happening). And the donuts themselves were oily, a small squeeze revels this. My wife ended up having stomach discomfort later in the day. Sorry, these are not 5 Star donuts, not even close in my book. Ruckus Donuts is a weak 3 Star rating, IMO. P.S. they tasted worse the next morning also. read more

One of the best donuts I ever had! Brioche style donuts. So many flavors to try. To nice to eat. We had the Boston Cream. The cream is so light. The place is small. The owner is very friendly and told us how he started his business and how he makes the donuts. read more

Have had the ruckus experience a couple of times. They were ok for the extreme donuts they were described as in what I have read. Not as good as holy donut and certainly lags behind the much beloved Willow Street Donuts (RIP) which weren't extreme just delicious. My grandmother made donuts on the stove top that were amazing. read more

"Holy donuts, Batman! This place is incredible!" Ricky's Donuts specializes in homemade ring -shaped donuts. For those with fillings, they fill in the center hole. Fresh and delicious! My Maple Glaze donut was made from organic, locally sourced maple syrup. The donut was light, airy and possibly the best tasting donut I've ever had the pleasure of eating. Great coffee too! The folks behind the counter were working on donut orders, but were nice enough to pause for some quick conversation. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED read more

These donuts are delicious! The brioche style donuts have such a fluffy texture. They're decadent but light; such a treat! All the flavors I've tried have been delicious, most especially the Boston Creme. The chocolate topping has great chocolate flavor without being too sweet and the crème filling is custardy and creamy but not at all goopy. The people are very nice and helpful too, which is great. I arrived an hour and half before closing on a weekday and there were nine donuts left to choose from, so just forewarning they do sell out early! read more

Stopped here for a donut on our way from Camden to Portland and boy do we recommend making a special stop here. When we got here around 10 AM most of the donuts had sold out and we understand why. It was so delicious! The donut has a light fluffy texture and is HUGE! We got the Caramel crunch and the Caramel had a great flavor to it. Highly recommend! read more

The owner is amazing! Friendly, helpful and not only does he make incredible donuts, he also can make some emergency half and half! My cinnamon sugar donut was reminiscent of the mini donuts we all love when we go to a festival or a fair. The coffee is rich and not too bitter. I ordered the iced coffee and enjoyed every drop. My only wish is they had iced mochas and cinnamon rolls or pecan sticky rolls, but their donut assortment is both creative and out of this world tasty. read more

Are these some of the best donuts in Maine? Yeah, I think so. And I've been telling everyone I know that. The donuts are fluffy, but strong enough to withhold the incredibly generous toppings and glazes. My partner had a lemon poppy seed and it was GLAZED (at some places a glaze is a just suggestion, and then you're left with a mouthful of dry, flavorless donut... that's not the case here). It had that punchy lemon flavor that was perfect for a hot day. I had the rhubarb crisp and, from the first to the last bite, with every mouthful I literally said, "This is one of the best things I've eaten in years." It was just so perfectly summery. Like the best rhubarb pie/rhubarb crisp I've ever had, but on a donut. I should have bought two. I know better for next time. They have some classic donut options (boston creme, emoji, cinnamon sugar) that are always available, but the rhubarb crisp (for example) is part of their seasonal menu. I've seen they do a similar donut with apple compote in the autumn... It's not weird to drive two hours for donuts, right? Asking for a friend. Personally, the prices don't bother me. They're pretty big donuts, and also... Lovebirds in Kittery and Holy Donut in Portland are charging just as much. I think the biggest issue here is... they sell out, and they sell out fast. "Especially days that start with S," the owner told me. So if it's like 10am on a weekday, sure, you *might* get the flavor you want. I'd strongly suggest preordering. (SIDE NOTE: Their donuts are vegetarian friendly! eg not fried in lard) read more

If you are looking for a light & fluffy, full of flavor donut to satisfy your craving this is the place! I arrived at 7:25, second in line, and by the time 7:30 opening rolled around the line was 30 people long. Lines tell you food is good! The ambiance of the establishment was no frills but very nice inside with very nice owners/employees. They had donuts displayed in the case, prices on the side wall, and a drink cooler on the side with various cold beverages. I went on a Sunday, when they had the special Sunday breakfast pudding. This was a custardy savory dish. The bacon and cheese were perfect in it. For donuts I ordered the caramel crunch, blueberry lemonade, peach crisp, homer and a classic. All very tasty and fluffy. read more

Great tasting donuts that have a wow factor. Ordered a dozen and take to your next gathering. There will be an audible "WOW" when you open the box. read more

Delicious donuts, fast friendly service, everything looked great. There was no sit down area. It was to go only.

The donuts tasted like old oil. I they were not good and thrown in the trash when they got home. I hate chain stores, but Dunkin' was moderately better. They didn't have all the flavors as home so not quite as god for the kids. read more

I don't know what it is with Mainers, but there are donut shops everywhere! We recently visited Rockland and had donuts at Ruckus. I expected a boutique donut shop to make good donuts but HOLY COW, theirs are AMAZING! They had a number of interesting flavor combos, but I am a chocolate-glazed man. Theirs were so delicious, with shaved chocolate bits as a topper. Friendly staff and a neat shop. Don't miss this one! read more

I am not a donut person. I might become one now. These donuts are delicious and creative. So pretty too. The hardest part is choosing only a few to buy each time. Yum! read more

Amazing donuts. The dough is perfect and fluffy. Yes, the price point is a littttle bit high per donut, but this place is using all fresh, local ingredients... and also these things are HUGE. Most of their flavors are going to be very sweet -- I like the cinnamon sugar or one of the fritters when I don't want something so sweet. And don't be fooled by how they "fill" their filled donuts... it might not be how Dunkin does it, but there is TONS of filling in there! Highly recommended read more

I don't understand why this place doesn't have hundreds of reviews. The donuts were incredibly fresh, flavorful, and DELISH! We ordered the day before which was so nice to not have to rush over super early before they sold out. We got 6 different ones and each was better than the next!!! read more

I went at 10am, and they were almost sold out of donuts. I can see why because they're AMAZING. These donuts have the perfect texture and flavor. The staff was so friendly too. 1000/10!! read more

Wish I read reviews to realize we need to get there early! But they still had a few donuts and we loved what we got! Maple and blueberry lemonade. They were large but were surprisingly light. We thought they were expensive, but then we tasted them! Will definitely go again when we're back in Maine. read more

To be perfectly honest, I prefer cake style donuts, so I don't love these. I've tried a dozen different flavors and just can't get on board (super light and doughy). That said, they do what they do very well, and their reputation speaks for itself. For this reason I'll give them 5 stars, even though I'm not in love. The staff/family that owns and operates the shop is always friendly and you can tell they take a lot of pride in what they do. I'm happy to support a local small business. P.S. it should go without saying that these donuts are refined carbohydrate sugar bombs! Plan on sharing :) read more

Best donuts I've ever had. Period, end of story. OK -- not the end of story. They have GREAT coffee also.

One thing we have started doing as we travel is trying donuts in each city. We have tried some great ones. (Voodoo, Blue Star, Do-Rite). The donuts from Ruckus have taken the lead- best we have had. Delicious, thick, quality donuts. Great flavors and toppings. We've never gone back twice to the same shop on a trip - we did here. Two days in a row to try different ones. Loved the apple fritter, and the maple bacon. Wish I could have tried them all! read more

These may be the best donuts my hubs or I have ever had, and we truly love donuts! These were so light and fluffy but satisfying and substantial and not mention super fresh! The flavors were very unique and so delicious, we couldn't choose a favorite if we had to! Blueberry lemonade, rhubarb crumble, Boston cream, and more were perfection. The customer service was also stellar, we were guided through what was available and what was recommended. Thank god we don't live a feasible driving distance of Ruckus or I'd develop diabetes in a week out of necessity to continuously indulge there, so so good highly recommend! read more

Wow! I think these were the best donuts I've ever had. I'm not a donut expert, but I've had all of the donuts that southern Maine has to offer and these top all of them. The consistency and taste of the classic glazed was amazing. My favorite was the blueberry lemonade, and second favorite was the maple bacon. Also loved the fluffanutter, however, it was quite a sticky , sloppy mess to eat. I definitely recommend placing an order of Ruckus Donuts ASAP. read more

I don't get the hype. Decent donut but not at Four Dollars and change per.

Donuts were extremely good, service was quick and friendly, five dollars a donut is a bit steep but overall I would recommend

I didn't realize that I needed to place an order through Facebook the day before, so I showed up when they opened and hoped for the best. There was a short line but they were friendly and helpful, and I was able to get one of each. Everything was awesome, the donuts looked beautiful and I wish that I took a photo of the box but we were just too hungry. I honestly couldn't pick a favorite - they were all great. read more
