My girlfriend and I went there in July to celebrate our birthdays. The pedicures were over priced ($45.00 + tip) for what we received: a quick soak, filing of our toe nails and a polish (of which they ONLY had 15 OPI polishes to choose from and most were fall colors) ~ very, very disappointing!! My polish chipped off within a week and my polish normally stays on for 2 - 3 weeks. Oh, but we did get a glass of wine. I would have given up my glass of wine for a foot massage and I don't give up wine too often! I'd rather go to a mani/pedi salon and get the full treatment for the same price! read more

Ruby's, It is beautiful. Spectacular. I haven;t seen a heated pool this big in my life! So awesome. I love that they provide crisp clean white robes too! It makes the swim feel special! The heated pool wraps around the spa in an L shape. It's adorned with art, metal flower sprinklers and lots of curved off portions of private area so you can relax in some privacy. The spa itself is clean and the massage was great. I will say, that I have had a lot of massages and this one was a bit different. I am used to a lot of actual massaging. Where, I felt like a lot of time was wasted because my masseuse paused a lot, to press on my back gently, or reposition the sheets very slowly, and walk around me, and reposition the chair, lots of things that felt like it took up the time. That being said, I still left satisfied. It was different for sure, maybe not everyone's cup of tea, and when I talked to my boyfriend after, he said his was similar. But it felt very relaxing and the next day I felt a lot of muscle ache so I think she got in deep! I would do it again. One of my oldest and dearest friends was treating me to my first pedicure. When I mentioned to the tech Rebekkah (sp) that my toe nails were ugly she said "Eew you don't have a fungus do you? ...I wont be able to do your nails then." She took one quick look and said eew again. and had her nose turned up as in pure disgust. While I do understand about health dept regulations I think the way I was treated by Rebekkah was totally unacceptable. I was so embarrassed and humiliated.. If I had been by myself I would've been so out of there, but since my friend was there she suggested I have a manicure instead. Rebekkah didn't impress at that either and then to find out it was $70. I know I can do better myself since much of the nail was left unpolished. Needless to say I wont be back nor recommend to any friends. read more

I needed a spa day. A quiet day to indulge and make things right with mind, body and soul. I got all of that and more during my visit here. After placing numerous calls around town to find the "perfect" setting, I remembered that Ruby Spa was at one of my favorite places in Oregon-Edgefield. I had some poor experiences calling around at some more "snootier" spas and got the absolute opposite when I called with a few questions to Ruby Spa. They answered all of my questions and it was clear that they knew all about their services and were happy and passionate about what they did. Definitely a plus! I booked 3 services-Ruby Spa facial with the bright eyes treatment, Detox Body treatment and the Spellbound massage. I arrived early and the front desk woman who checked me in was kind and extremely helpful. My services were outstanding, lovely and high quality products and were executed by true professionals that were approachable and made you really believe that they cared about your happiness. You get free access to their soaking pool as well which is fantastic. Perfectly heated to about 102 degrees, it provided a nice breath of fresh air between my treatments. The spa also has a ton of adorable products, make up and nick knacks for purchase...I could've browsed for hours! My only complaint...no food delivery to the spa :( the Tea bar next door serves food later in the afternoon but make sure to grab a bite before you go! Not really a complaint but more of a wish for the next time. After my wonderful experience, I already booked for another round of services in two weeks! read more

Why waste your money! The products are SOO overpriced it's rediculous. The reception staff wasn't helpful, especially this older looking gal, Cathy! She needs to go back to school for some customer service skills. It's one thing to do your job but to ignore customers for 10 solid minutes is RUDE! Then when she got to us she had not a nice thing to say. We simply left! We are disputing any charges on our card! I will NEVER go back there again and I suggest to all of you the same!!! read more

My wedding party and I recently had Ruby's Spa do our hair, makeup and nails for the wedding. The spa itself is uniquely beautiful and the staff was incredibly fun and professional. We all had a great, relaxing time while there. Everyone's hair, makeup and nails looked amazing at the wedding and reception and it was very convenient to have Ruby's Spa located right there on the property where the wedding/reception was held. The spa also offered packages for bridal parties which was very convenient. We would definitely recommend Ruby's Spa for preparation for a wedding or just for a relaxing spa treatment any day. read more

I can't comment on the outdoor soaking pool as it was raining so I decided not to test it out. I can say that the spa is lacking. It appears very quiet, relaxing, and peaceful in the waiting room. But once you get to the nail room it's a different story. Music is from the pub. I think that's enough explanation. The pedicure station is soooo uncomfortable! Seriously, how does someone relax? It's a straight bench seat with some cushions and a few pillows. Not a massage chair like I was hoping, can't recline back, and for someone with pretty long legs actually uncomfortable. The position I had to sit in from the seat to the pedicure bowl was so awkward that by the time I was done, I had cramps in my legs. I was able to stretch them out here and there but still. The pedicure bowl is just that, a bowl. There's no jets, bubbles, etc. It's just warm water. Basic massage, foot care, etc. Manicure was very basic as well, again a very uncomfortable chair to sit in. Also very limited on choice for nail colors. At least the complimentary wine was good! I just feel like for the price, they could offer much more relaxing options for people. I'm thankful I only went here with a gift card and not my own money, otherwise I would have been very upset. Can definitely get "more bang for your buck" elsewhere. read more

Mother's Day- my son purchased a massage and facial for me. They asked him to make an appointment for me at the time of purchase. He made the appointment for Mother;s Day. He couldn't ask me when to schedule it because he didn't want to spoil the surprise. So at brunch on Mother's day- he tells me what my gift is. I say I'm so sorry Matthew- I can't go today. So he calls to reschedule. He was charged $70 more dollars to do so and was told to have me call directly to make my appointment. When I did that- there was no record of the transaction. My son is a college student with very limited funds. So this really was a HUGE sacrifice for him. I did not receive the treatment he paid for. It just makes me really sad. I don't understand why he wasn't offered a gift certificate? I have received gift certificates from Ruby's before- that would have made more sense. Customer service is pretty poor. read more

The staff is not the happiest and it may have to do with McMenamin's priorities. The building is spacious, comfortable, nicely designed. The soaking pool is great and comfortable even in winter. I went with two friends for a half hour massage and express pedicure. The quality of the massage will depend on who you get. My friend got a very professional male masseuse who used hot stones. The pedicure was great. Again the staff is a little unhappy and I did hear the pedicurists complaining about customers but the quality of work was excellent. The pedicure lasted for weeks and weeks with no chips. Amazing! read more

After all our 90+ days here in Oregon, I was looking forward to a refreshing swim in their soaking pool. I did not realize the pool is kept at a nice warm 101f. Thank goodness the weather had cooled down that day! Most spas hire newly grad massage students so I usually end up being disappointed with my massages. but Ruby didn't have anything else available, so I got a massage. BEST spa massage I've ever had! Found out that the massage therapists there all have between 3-7 years experience. I rated Ruby's a 4 just because of a few weird things. 1) There are no lounging areas. There is a waiting area, but it is cramped and dark. The soaking pool area has no seating. You either are in the water, or you just get out and stand on the cement. You are assigned a locker in a small dressing room and I did not realize that you cannot access your locker if someone else is using the room. To my dismay, I had to wait, wet from the pool and locked out of the room while someone took their time in getting dressed. There were 2 other wet guests also waiting to get inside to access their locker and change. Not a soothing experience. When I discussed this with the front desk, the gal got a bit snippy and acted like I should have known I wouldn't have access to my locker. read more

I had a spa day here today. My husband gave me a gift certificate. I had a massage, facial, pedicure and manicure. Everyone that worked with me was friendly and nice. I felt taken care of. It is also a cozy atmosphere. I think I'll go back for more services in the future. Very close to home :-) read more

Decided to treat myself to a b-day spa day and settled on Ruby Spa at Edgefield. Best choice ever. Very professional. Great soaking pool, even with some kids on other side the entrance from the spa was nice and relaxing. Afterwards I wandered around and bought some Ruby Ales to take home. Def going to visit again. Prices were decent as well. An hour massage did not break the bank. read more

I got a shave here yesterday and it was great. Sarah is amazing. She was gentle and really took her time with me and was very thorough. It's a nice clean place. read more
