Stopped in this morning for a half dozen bagels. It was (surprisingly) the first time in their brick & mortar location - very cute, clean, and simply laid out. The line moved quickly, the cashier was super pleasant, and the bagels were delicious, as always! We tried the pumpkin bagel with the apple cinnamon cream cheese (definitely try it!) and also grabbed sesame, everything, cinnamon cranberry, and rosemary & sea salt - one of which I had with the jalapeño cream cheese - my favorite combination!

Ruby's Bagels was a spontaneous trip this weekend, and I'm glad we tried it. When we arrived shortly after 10 a.m. on a Saturday, the line was nearly out the door. It took between 5 and 10 minutes to place our order (BEC on Sesame and the special, which was a Pumpkin Spice Bagel with Apple Pie Cream Cheese, along with an Iced Matcha and a Cold Brew). From there, it was about 10 minutes to receive our beverages, and another 10 minutes to receive the bagels, making for a roughly 30-minute wait from start to finish. While they do have a sign that says it's normally a 15-20 minute wait for your order, it still seems like a really long time for a bagel sandwich and a bagel with cream cheese, IMO. On top of the wait, there was the price tag. Our order came out to a whopping $30 before tip. I know that food prices are kind of out of hand nowadays, but jeez. With all that in mind, I was certainly glad that the bagel sandwich and bagel with cream cheese were absolutely incredible. Like some of the best I've had in Milwaukee. I'm not normally one to finish my food, but I scarfed down the Pumpkin Spice Bagel with Apple Pie Cream Cheese in under 5 minutes. It was that good. My partner devoured his BEC on Sesame. Truly sensational. The beverages were just OK (slightly overpriced for what they were), but it was nice to have something to pair with the bagel. While the bagels themselves are top notch, the ambiance of Ruby's Bagels leaves something to be desired. There really is no place to sit and enjoy your food since the limited seating available is taken up by people waiting for their order. Even if you were able to grab a spot on the bench or standing by the counter at the window, it is not a place conducive to hanging around and savoring your food. My partner and I ended up having a car picnic since the space was just so poorly designed and not at all able to accommodate the amount of customers. Will I go back to Ruby's Bagels? Maybe if I'm in the area. I'd recommend trying out Allie Boy's in Walker's Point instead -- it's slightly cheaper, the bagels are to die for, and the line moves way quicker.

Ruby's Bagels opened a brick and mortar location on North Ave in May 2025 and I'm sad I didn't find out until late in the year. The food truck at the Zócalo Food Park is awesome, but not convenient for me based on where I live and work like the North Ave location now is. I picked up a Guilty Guava (guava jam and cream cheese) on a seasonal pumpkin spice bagel and the BEC (bacon, egg, and cheese) on a rosemary bagel. I love guava so the Guilty Guava is my jam (see what I did there?). Getting it on the pumpkin spice bagel was unique and worth trying, but the flavor of the bagel might have masked a little of the guava. To truly appreciate it, I feel like the Guilty Guava needs to be on a plain or sesame bagel. It was still great though. In my opinion, rosemary makes any kind of bread better and is a wonderful topping for a bagel. The bacon is thick cut and the egg expertly fried over hard, but it's the bagel that stole the show in the best way possible. I'm so glad I have the opportunity to have this bagel more often from the location on North Ave.

The popular local food truck now has a brick-n-mortar location, and I stopped in Saturday morning for a BEC (thick cut bacon, fried egg, and American cheese) sandwich on their Rosemary Sea Salt bagel! The bagel was toasted and the sandwich was delicious! Seating is very limited, but this seemed to be more of a grab-n-go location as most ordered and left, while a few stood at the counter along the window. I grabbed one of the two small tables in back. It is a great place for local, fresh-made bagels, and I'll certainly be back!

Ruby's Bagel location #2 does not disappoint! Waited awhile to stop in so I could avoid the overcrowding and I had a breeze popping in and out on a Wednesday. This is a cute lil brick & mortar shop on the other side of the city, butting right up against Wauwatosa. Parking on residential side streets is quite easy but more challenging trying to park right out front of the shop since North Ave is typically a busy thoroughfare. Ruby's bagels are consistently delicious with a slightly crispy exterior and a soft chewy inside. You cant go wrong regardless of whether you're looking to slice and toast or rip and dunk. My absolute favorite bagel is the rosemary Sea Salt...who knew rosemary was so good on a bagel, yum! When it comes to my favorite combo, I highly recommend a rosemary sea salt bagel with jalapeño cream cheese (the perfect amount of heat)! The sesame bagel is packed with seeds and also chef's kiss. If I'm up for a breakfast sandwich, my go-to is the lox with a sesame bagel. It features lox, bagel (can select your preference), capers, cream cheese (choose your own), onion, fresh dill, and tomato. Yum! Ordering is super easy--hop in line, select a bagel or bagel sammy from the menu, a beverage if you're up for it, place your order, and wait in one of their cute nooks for your number to be called. Enjoy your nosh indoors or take it to go. Or, better yet, step outside and grab a table a few feet away and enjoy the neighborhood vibe. If you're looking for a solid bagel spot, look no further. Ruby's is a gem!

As a Californian this is SOO DAMN GOOD !!!!!! Matcha is real matcha & hot mama is real chorizo !!

I love Ruby's! I started as a loyal customer at Zocalo years ago. This was my first time at North Ave location and it was great! Beautiful interior - so bright and cutely decorated. Service was kind and fast! The bagels were out of this world. Had both the BEC - bacon, egg and cheese and just the EC sandwich and wow. Add cream cheese and you are in heaven. Give it a try!

First time here. About 11:30 AM on a Thursday morning. There was a group of about 10 people waiting for orders and only one person in line to make an order. I ordered a bagel sandwich with lox and was told the wait would be about 10 minutes which it was at least. The sandwich was the best sandwich I've had at any other bagel restaurant in town including but not limited to Einstein's bagels and Bruegger's bagels. Just two small two-top tables to sit at. Other than that, they have two narrow bar/tables with no seats but you can stand up there to eat, I suppose. Parking can be tough on North Avenue but it's worth the walk if you wanna park on a residential side street on either side of North Avenue.

They messed up my order but was very kind about it and corrected it right away. Coffee was terrible. Limited options but great bagel and service.

This is a cute little bagel shop! We went in on a busy Sunday morning. The line took a little bit of time to go through, but totally expected for a weekend. We ordered two everything bagels with bacon, egg, and cheese, a matcha latte, and a cold brew. We were lucky to grab a table and waited just a short amount of time for our bagels to come out. We love to do wedding planning at local coffee shops on the weekends so we were hoping to get some things done, but quickly realized the space isn't the most conducive for lounging and hanging out. The chairs are metal and not the most comfortable. There aren't wall plugs for charging. The space is a bit cramped. But totally cool that they might not be targeting that type of space and can appreciate that and know that moving forward. The matcha and cold brew were both really good and the bagels were amazing. You can tell everything is homemade and made to order. I don't know that I'd make a separate trip that way, but if I'm out that way, I'd definitely stop by again. Thanks for the visit!

We love Ruby's Bagel, I always order the BEC bagel Sandwich, our regular bagel spot in Tosa. This place always busy during the weekend. Love the ambiance and store decors.

Rubys Bagels just recently opened up near me and I had to give it a try. They still had majority of the types of bagels when I went in around 11am. I got their Bacon, Egg, and Cheese (BEC) Bagel and it did not disappoint. The cheese was perfectly melted and the bacon didn't overpower the sandwich. The egg on it also tasted fresh. The cashier Mimi was super helpful and sweet and gave me some good recommendations. I definitely will be coming back.

    - delicious food, good service, cozy ambiance - no…read morereservation can be made for brunch - excited to come back for a sweet option Happy to get a seat at this tasty diner! With their rotating menu items and weekly specials, I am definitely coming back after having such a flavorful and fun meal. Waited about an hour on a busy Saturday since one of their locations was closed, but the food was well worth it! I had gotten Wolfie's Patty Melt and it was filling and a great start to our morning. The bread was nice and crisp from the buttered griddle and held everything together perfectly. Inside the crunchy sandwich were 2 seasoned patties and enough gooey cheese to make it rich, but not heavy. To contrast the fatty flavor, there was a slightly tart bacon jam and onions that were truly caramelized. Overall really tasty sandwich with no notes! In the description it says there is a sauce, but I could only taste the onions and jam, so I'm not too sure what it added. The side of fries was ok, but I think some crispy thinner ones would have been better with the sandwich. For my drink, I got a hot Ube Chai. The chai was strong and had a spicy kick to each sip. Already a subtle flavor, the ube was not very strong with the chai mixed in, but still added fun color. The design on top was also very cute and added another dink of sweetness. My girlfriend got the Spamelette for her main and it was pretty pretty and delish. Not too often that you see Spam, but when you see it, trust it earned its spot on a menu! The big chunks of Spam and accouterments gave each bite a pleasant feel and one full of flavor. I was skeptic of the mushrooms at first, but they were seasoned well and added another kind of texture to the meal. I think my favorite toppings were the drizzle of kewpie and the green onions... not sure if it counts as a topping, but the tamari glaze of the spam made it delish. Taste aside, it was also a pretty meal! Pook got a Hot Chocolate for her drink. Nice simple drink for the cold weather. We would have liked to see some more chocolatey flavor, but still a good milky drink for the meal. This drink also had a fun design and nice cream top, yum yum yum. This was such a tasty meal and they have lots of other options that I was debating on getting - I guess we gotta come back! It was a really cold day, but the cozy atmosphere and hot drinks with our food made it a great experience. We had originally planned on going to the Downtown location, but it was closed because of heating problems. I wish there was a bit more uniformity between their menus, especially since the Brewers Hill menu has different items and is smaller, so it feels like there is quite the difference between locations. Going off of that point, I am excited to try their dinner menu when it releases and see how it compares to when we ate Downtown! I am not sure how the places differ, but I felt the food here to be more flavorful than the other location. In addition to the dining area, they had a small shop and coffee area in the back while you waited for your table. It was fun and made time pass faster, but I feel as though that area is also perfect for dining. Maybe there are specific reasons why it isn't, but just a thought. Hope to come back soon!

Perfectly cooked medium rare steak with chimichurri, crispy-runny eggs, and excellent potatoes holding it all together. The food is thoughtfully plated without trying too hard, and the prices feel fair for the quality. Definitely worth checking out if you haven't been. Another lil Milwaukee gem!

We had biscuits and fried green tomatoes, and we each ordered a different type of spicy chicken sandwich. We both really liked our food. The Nashville hot chicken sandwich was really good and the biscuits were soo good!! The fried green tomatoes were just so-so, but I don't have much to compare it to. Our margaritas were very tasty. The server was fantastic. He was very friendly and attentive, but not over the top. He asked if we wanted more drinks or dessert. We did get another round of drinks. Brunch It Up (possibly in the middle of rebranding to just "Brunch.") is a classic breakfast spot in downtown Milwaukee...we were there on a Sunday morning...high brunch time, and were seated quickly upstairs. The place had an overall run-down vibe to it...scuffed paint on the walls and a general feeling of not quite matching the quality of the upscale brunch spot implied by their modern logo. Menus...I normally don't comment on the menu itself but our table featured no less than 4 different menus...the regular menu, a drink menu, a specials menu and a mimosas menu...choices are wonderful, but the immediate reaction is this is a whole mess of menus on the table, and I don't know what to look at first. It felt haphazard. Let's move on to the coffee...Coffee is an essential part of the brunch experience. Even at a diner, you want it to be strong...the mug it came in was nice, but it was weak coffee. I need coffee to kick my butt, and if you're serving what's close to "browned water" at a breakfast place, you're missing the mark. How about the food? I can't fault them for the generosity of the portions, but will say individual dishes were way too much for my wife and I...we wish smaller portions were available, so so much didn't go to waste. My wife had the Egg and Waffle sandwich with waffle fries. It was fine. I had the Harvest Hash made with egg whites...the eggs were a little overcooked. (Egg whites require a thoughtful touch when cooking them so they are finished white and not browning all over.) There are plenty of fresh tomatoes, mushrooms, and peppers in there (I guess that's the extent of the harvest in Milwaukee) The hashbrowns it all sat on were undercooked. We were excited about the croissant beignets...Available were the regular ones with chocolate or strawberry dipping sauce, and a special with a fruit dipping sauce. They couldn't mix and match sauces, so we got the special. They were okay but a bit over-fried, losing the croissant texture altogether ...I mean, there's nothing wrong with deep-fried dough with sweet things to dip them in, but we do wish they hadn't fried the croissant out of them to give us the unique experience implied by the name. The menu has plenty to choose from...every breakfast savory or sweet thing you could imagine...and on the nicely designed, modern-looking menu at looks like it could be amazing...but everything we got, plus the experience of sitting in a place that felt a little rundown, left us overall disappointed.

I ended up calling in an order to go, substituting wheat bread for the rye, and also added a piece of lemon ginger coffee cake. The lemon ginger coffee cake tasted fine, but man was it dry. Like Sahara Desert dry. Maybe this was an anomaly and their other baked goods are better, but I'd be hesitant to try them based on this coffee cake. Even though the website says the side is potato pancakes with applesauce, my fish fry came with fries. They ended up being the best part of the meal, which I certainly wasn't expecting. Still, I was disappointed cause I prefer potato pancakes and was given their inclusion as an expectation. The wheat bread itself was ok, but the butter was oddly unsalted. The fish, of which there was three pieces, was battered with a hint of beer, but like the butter for the bread there was no salt to speak of in the batter. As much as I didn't enjoy the unsalted butter for the bread, not having salt in the batter for the fish managed to be more unpleasant. Maybe Blue's Egg should just stick with serving breakfast items instead of adding something temporary that they clearly aren't pros at.
