They literally come up to your car, take your order, and bring your food back. I loved the old school feel. It took no time for my food to arrive-about 7 minutes. I got a burger, onion rings, and a hotdog all the way. The onion rings were fresh, hot, and had the perfect amount of salt. The burger was well seasoned, had that crisp, grilled taste. The hotdog was good as well-chili was perfect. It was such a nostalgic feel and definitely a must visit for the experience.

We recently had the pleasure of dining at Ruby Tuesday in Christiansburg, Virginia while we were in town, and I have to say that our server Paige was absolutely amazing. From the moment we were seated, she made us feel welcome and attended to all of our needs throughout the meal. Paige was incredibly attentive, always making sure our drinks were refilled and checking in on us to make sure we were happy with our food. She was also very knowledgeable about the menu and was able to make recommendations based on our preferences. But it wasn't just her excellent service that made our experience so great - it was also her warm personality and genuine care for her customers. She went above and beyond to ensure that we had a great time, and it was clear that she takes pride in her work and truly cares about the happiness of her guests. In short, Paige is the best server we have ever had and we would highly recommend her to anyone dining at the Ruby Tuesday in Christiansburg. She truly made our visit one to remember. read more

My wife ordered the steak and shrimp with green beans. Her steak was cooked well, the shrimp had good seasoning, and she enjoyed her meal as well. One of our favorite surprises was the croissants they bring to the table. They were warm, sweet, buttery, and almost tasted like a dessert. We loved that the first ones were complimentary, and honestly, charging about a dollar each if you want more afterward isn't bad at all. They were good enough that I could see ordering extras. The service was also very good. Our food and drinks came out in a timely manner, and we never felt like we were waiting around for anything. Everything from sitting down to getting our food went smoothly. Overall, this was a great first experience with Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen. Good food, large portions, good service, and reasonable prices for what you get. Since this was just a stop during our road trip, we didn't know what to expect, but we were glad we gave it a try. After having been selected as number 4 of Yelp's Top 50 most prolific Elites of 2025, a year when I was also awarded the Yelp Triad Squad Photographer of the Year Award at their Yelpies 2025 Award Ceremony, an event that honored the highest-performing Yelp Elites, and where last year I was awarded the Yelp Triad Squad Yelper of the Year Award, I decided that this year, as an All-Star Yelp Elite, I not only wanted to be the first to discover new restaurants and businesses, and bring them to the attention of the public, but also to uncover those found in hidden paths that for one reason or another have not reached the public in its totality. And Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen in the Valley View area of Roanoke, Virginia, is a perfect example. After receiving an email from Cheddar's corporate office wishing me a Happy Birthday and inviting me to dine at their restaurant near me and receive a Free Dessert such as their Legendary Monster Cookie, I decided to go and accept their kind offer. Once inside, their impressive giant ceiling fan coming down from the square high ceiling dome of their main dining room in the center of the restaurant seemed to set the elegant yet relaxed ambiance of this one-of-a-kind restaurant. I was greeted at the entrance by their friendly and welcoming hostess who lead me to a comfortable booth on the left side of the restaurant close to many windows that allowed in lots of wonderful light, perfect for capturing photographs of the food which I invite you to view accompanying this review. Almost immediately after I was seated, my server Tabitha approached with a plate filled with two of their famous Honey Butter Croissants that looked amazing and tasted even better. She had a wonderful personality and it was a pleasure to give her my order. To drink I had one of their Mango flavored hand-crafted Lemonade. To dine I had a hard time choosing from their extensive menu with colorful photographs of their main dishes. But I finally decided to have their Dijon Chicken and Mushrooms: Two grilled chicken breasts with honey dijon and sautéed sliced mushrooms over rice, with the two sides of a House Salad with Balsamic Vinaigrette dressing and Buttered Off-The-Cobb Corn. Not only were the portions very generous but the chicken was tender and juicy, a reflection of its high-quality and being perfectly grilled. And the sautéed mushrooms gave it such a wonderful taste that I made the commitment right then and there, to return more often to dine there. When the time came for the "Grand Finale" dessert, I chose their Legendary Monster Cookie, whom the manager himself ordered it for me while he kindly was visiting my table and receiving my wonderful feedback of my current dining experience. It consisted of Fettuccine pasta with spinach and mushrooms, tossed in a roasted garlic cream sauce, and topped with sliced filet and wood-grilled shrimp. This time I ordered their Lentil & Sausage soup as the side rather than the Caesar Salad I had last time. Since I was somewhat hungry, I also ordered their Tiramisu for dessert, which was lady fingers dipped in liqueur-laced espresso, layered with sweetened mascarpone, Myers's Rum and chocolate shavings. I think it was one of the most expensive orders that I have ever made from DoorDash so I was really looking forward to enjoying it. The order was placed at 5:20PM and DoorDash gave me an estimated delivery time of between 5:45PM and 6:09PM. Needless to say I was hungry and as a VIP DoorDash customer I expected the order around that time as usual. But the time went by and nothing. I started to worry that the food might arrive cold and was getting somewhat upset. I received a message from DoorDash that my DoorDasher was delivering another order before she got to me along with a later estimated time. To make the story short, the order finally arrived at 6:40PM in a paper shopping bag. And of course it arrived cold. So I was very upset with DoorDash, not with Carrabba's. Carrabba's did an excellent job packing my order and including their wonderful crusty, artisanal sourdough bread along with their signature herb and extra virgin olive oil dipping blend. So I was required to heat my food in the microwave in order to enjoy it best. I invite you to view my photographs accompanying this review to get a better sense of the high-quality of the food prepared and cooked to perfection by Carrabba's amazing chefs, cooks, and kitchen crew. Even with the unfortunate circumstances, I was able to enjoy an amazingly delicious meal. After I finished eating, I called DoorDash VIP Customer Service phone number to explain the situation I had gone through and ask them to make it right. They apologized and added to my account a $30 credit for the long wait that caused my food to get cold and for the inconvenience this had caused me. I ordered one of the new fall menu items. My waitress, Karmen, asked how I wanted my eggs and then asked what kind of breakfast meat I wanted. I asked what my options were, and she listed them, including ham. I said ham would be great. She then asked what kind of ham I wanted and gave me the choices of sugar-cured or country ham. I chose country ham. My breakfast was fine. Then the bill came. There was a $3.99 charge for the ham. I asked Karmen about it because I was genuinely confused. She was also confused and took the check back to find out why I had been charged. Enter the manager. Instead of simply explaining the charge, acknowledging that there had clearly been a misunderstanding, or even saying, "I'm sorry, our server gave you incorrect information," this manager approached me with an attitude that was nothing short of condescending and insulting. Her tone and comments made it very clear that she thought I was somehow too stupid or "illiterate" to understand that there was an additional charge. I explained multiple times that I had been told by my waitress that ham was an option included with my meal, and that the waitress specifically asked me which type of ham I wanted. Her response? Essentially, "It's your responsibility to make sure your waitress is correct." Excuse me? Since when is a customer responsible for correcting a restaurant employee who is explaining the menu and taking the order? If your employee gives a customer incorrect information, that's a training issue--not a customer's intelligence issue. The manager continued arguing with me and eventually said she would see what the male manager could do. When the male manager came over, I told him something very important: This wasn't about $3.99. I would have gladly paid $3.99 if I had been told there was an additional charge. What bothered me was being treated like I was stupid for questioning a charge that resulted directly from what I was told by their own employee. He apologized for her behavior and told me she was "going through a rough time" and had stepped away. I'm sorry, but having a rough day does not give someone permission to humiliate and disrespect paying customers. I asked for her name because I fully intend to let Cracker Barrel know exactly how I was treated. Interestingly, he wouldn't give me her name. So apparently, I leave knowing that I was treated horribly, the manager responsible simply walked away, and there may not even be any accountability for her behavior. I've worked with the public. I understand that customers can be difficult. I also understand that mistakes happen. What separates a good business from a bad one is how those mistakes are handled. This could have been a 30-second conversation: " I'm sorry, there was a misunderstanding. The ham carries an additional charge." Instead, I was made to feel like I was stupid, incapable of reading a menu, and somehow responsible for an employee giving me incorrect information. That's unacceptable. Cracker Barrel, you can keep the $3.99. What you should be concerned about is the fact that someone representing your company thought it was appropriate to speak to a customer this way. The $3.99 didn't ruin my breakfast. Her attitude did. And if this is how management treats customers when they ask a simple question, I can find plenty of other places to have breakfast.

My wife got a veggie omelet that was very small with home fries and bacon for about the same amount . This place is not cheap at all . 3 bucks for coffee as well. I wound up spending 40 bucks on virtually nothing and still feel a bit hungry . Service was great and the food was good. Just everything is small and high priced. Gas in the area is 3.70 gal. Get ready to spend a bunch when coming here.

Not to mention their very dedicated staff who prepare the delicious food, service the customers by bringing them coffee or by refilling their cups with coffee and glasses with soft drinks, and by removing their empty plates to make room for some others with more freshly made food. But no matter how good and popular a restaurant may be, if it loses focus of the little things that make a big difference, it will not survive, and this is why requesting feedback is good, and following through on the feedback received is even better. I used to faithfully enjoy my weekend breakfasts at this establishment until one day when I was in a hurry to be somewhere at a certain time, I arrived early in the morning with the idea of having a freshly made omelet and after standing at the omelet station for a while with no luck, and asking who I thought was the manager for help locating the omelet cook, received a lukewarm answer. I gave up and went to get some scrambled eggs and bacon instead and found the eggs to be cold and the bacon to be soggy and not crunchy. And to top it off my server dumped the remaining amount of coffee of a coffee pot in a cup and brought this lukewarm coffee over to me. I was so disappointed that at the end of the day when I got home and had some time, I visited the feedback website listed on their receipt slip, and truthfully gave an account of what had happened and how disappointed I was. So much so, that I stopped going. For months I didn't return. Then today, in the middle of the Holiday Season, I decided to return, and once again try it out to see if some change had taken place. And what I saw was amazing. They had a new manager, dressed in uniform with a name tag on, walking around the front area of the restaurant, and making herself available for customers. I greeted her and ask for the omelet cook because I wanted to have an omelet made. She told me he was at the desert station helping them out and would come as soon as he notices that he was needed. I walk that way and as soon as he saw I needed him to make me an omelet, he immediately came my way and started preparing my omelet. It came out so perfect, that as he was walking away, I called him back and told him I had a holiday bonus I wanted to give him for his excellent service throughout the year. At that moment, you could tell by his watery eyes that he appreciated the gesture enmensely. And that he clearly understood the meaning of constructive criticism through example, and was graceful for it. Afterwards, I went to get some bacon to have with my omelet; and it was once again, crispy and hot, like bacon is supposed to be. This restaurant is on track again and has retained me as one of their best customers.
