Stopped by during the street fair and this place was packed! Thankfully the turnaround time for the tables was fairly quick and there's plenty of seating. The cappuccino was silky, smooth perfection! The iced latte was just another latte...nothing special. My strawberry danish was AMAZINGLY fresh and crispy. I swear I could eat layer by layer lol. Everyone behind the counter was working hard and they all were so pleasant. Overall this place is a 10/10...I can definitely see myself becoming a regular here.

Hands down the Best bakery in Northern California! Great pastries and coffee! Must try the coffee cake and morning bun with orange zest. Also tried the croques monsieur and it was awesome.

Absolutely one of the best cafes in California. A hidden gem in the Central Valley, located in downtown Lodi. The coffee is perfect, flavorful and creamy. The baked goods are a nice touch. You can't go wrong with a pick here. The sliced pizza & breads are great choice for brunch. I had a question about the pesto & the head chef came to answer my questions. That was very helpful & kind of them to take time to answer my questions. This is a happy, warm & sunny place, the ambiance is upbeat and relaxing.

Ruby's is located on Church street. Plenty of street parking or there is a lot across the way. When you walk in it's industrial vibes with wood furniture. It can get quite loud so I wouldn't come here to study, but it's more of a place to meet a friend or enjoy a vibrant atmosphere. The service can feel a little rushed so take a minute to look and decide before hoping in line. There was plenty of seating but a lot people took their items to go. One note: someone did bring out my danish because it was getting heated up but they have you clear your own table and put the dishes in a bin near the drink pick up area. The pastries are excellent. I opted for the chorizo and egg danish with a chocolate chip cookie on the side. The danish was flaky and the chorizo was so flavorful. They offered me a side of salsa that had a nice kick to it and paired well with the danish. The chocolate chip cookie was full of rich chocolate chunks and had a nice crisp around the edges but soft center. It's more flat and chewy which I like. I also got a cappuccino which paired nicely with the cookie. Prices were good given the quality of the food. It is amazing and I will definitely be back to try other items.

Good bye.... Ruby Tuesday!! Sorry, first thing I think of. The next thing I think of are delectable, decadent, delights such almond/chocolate croissants, beautifully decorated cakes and danishes. The CC cookies are always worth getting even if it's to eat later on after dinner with a nice cold glass of milk. They offer tasty breakfast toasts/sands/pastries with eggs and bacon and avocado and other fancy type of breakfasts which may include chorizo and potatoes. I like!! They offer Insight Coffee and their vanilla lattes and mochas are really well made with the right froth and sweetness. It's a fast paced environment but never too busy for a "good morning" or "thanks for coming ," shout out. Plenty of parking in front or the back. Busy bustling atmosphere. Lots of eye candy behind the display glass and you can even see the bake staff doing their thing in the back creating magic! Check out Ruby's on Church. Preach!!

It was a rainy day, but we felt like grabbing some pastries and their Egg Ricotta sandwich. As always, there was a line. But that's when you know a place is good haha. It was loud and crowded, but the staff kept the line moving. As usual, their items are always fresh. I did however notice something different with our go to Egg Ricotta sandwich. This time around it was very spicy! I looked at my previous pics, and it's the same amount of chili, but it was just the right amount of spice. We ordered 4 that day, and all 4 were super spicy. We had to scoop the chili out, which is definitely not ideal. Not sure what happened. Did they use a different chili oil brand? Was it just more concentrated for some reason? Whatever it was, they weren't good that day. Hopefully it was just an off day, and it'll be better next time around.

Came at the last hour the cafe was open since I was having brunch with friends at a restaurant around the corner. From the pictures on Yelp, I was looking forward to the sugar bun and turnovers but sadly wasn't able to snag any. I imagine they sold out quickly! I got their chocolate chip cookies and chocolate croissants and they were SO YUMMY. Service was quick and fast. They have a good amount of seating and tables for those who want to dine in. Would definitely return if I was ever back in the area!

The pastries here are to die for! They are flaky on the outside and soft in the middle. Not pictured is the ham and gruyere croissant we also had. My standards for pastries are high and they definitely met them. The atmosphere inside was also nice and relaxed. The service was good.

OMG, what a pleasant visit! The staff here were incredibly nice and welcoming. While I was ordering my coffee, a staff member behind the cashier chimed in and mentioned they had recently tried the iced cappuccino and loved it. I decided to give it a try too and wow, it was SO good! In fact, my sister ended up stealing it from me and made me take her drink instead. The pastries were all delicious, but the sugar bun was my absolute favorite. Everything tasted fresh and perfectly made. The café itself has such a cute vibe, and parking was super easy and accessible, which is always a plus. Overall just a really great experience. I'll definitely be back!

This is a standout bakery in the area, and the recently expanded space makes it much more comfortable inside. It's usually busy, and during the holidays you can definitely expect a line. They often run out of popular items early, so it's best to arrive as soon as they open if you want the full selection. The menu is seasonal and features one of the best desserts I've ever had: the crolair. It's a light, flaky pastry filled with custard, topped with toasted meringue and fresh fruit. I could eat it every day! I only wish it were available year-round.

They sold this bread as sourdough to us. There was nothing sour about it.

The croissants are excellent, flakes and layers in every bite. Luckily this bakery is a bit far from me due to traffic. If not I would come here every morning for that croissant! A bit disappointed in the sourdough I don't think I was sold a sourdough. Nothing was sour about it, oh well. The staff welcome you and despite the line out the door, they don't rush you. One more thing the coffee is wonderful!

This place is amazing!! It was my second time here and I was very pleased. My mom and I got the sugar bun and croque monsieur toast and wow I'm not sure which was better. Please please try the sugar bun it is life changing as it is moist and sweet and slightly sticky-just perfect. The toast was such a great savory pairing and the bread tasted so fresh. My mom got a white mocha I believe and she said it was so frothy and wonderful. This place was packed on a Sunday morning so people know how good this place is! The first time I went I forgot to review but their croissants are also amazing. And the service when it was less crowded was super friendly:) read more

I seldomly eat pastries because I am so particular about my sweet and carbs, I don't want it if it's a waste of carbs bc it just makes me bloated!!! I only eat chocolate chip cookies from Ettore's and haven't found the perfect croissant yet until now!!!! Chocolate croissant- perfect amount of chocolate- not stingy and it's dark chocolate!!! My fave. The layers are so crispy and chewy at the same time!! It's huge, and satisfying. Sugar buns- it was an orange marmalade sugar bun. Crunch on every bite- dazzled with sugar, not a missed spot! It's pretty sweet, I can only eat 1/4. Deliciousness with a cup of tea. Chocolate chip cookie- dark chocolate chips sprinkled with sea salt. So chewy, just how I like it. It is now equal to Estelle's cookies!!!!!! I will drive half an hr to get these cookies. Coffee cake- very moist and veeerrryyyy good too!! All I can keep saying is very good, sooo good, sooo delicious!!!! A must stop by in Lodi. read more

I came here after eating lunch, so I was already full. I wanted to take some pastries home to try later though. I went with the sugar bun, as that seems to be popular, and the ham and Gruyère croissant. I didn't really care for the sugar bun, but the croissant was excellent- flaky. read more

Ruby's is a delight. Their food is outstanding and I cannot say enough good things about their sourdough bread! To die for. My biggest recommendation is to get there early because if it's past 10:00 am you might not get one of their delicious morning buns or croissants! I don't recommend this place for groups. We were in the area and thanks to Yelp, we intentionally came across this local gem! Super friendly staff, yummy food, and the coffee superb! It was our first time here and the a staff Seem to come accross regulars because twice we were asked if it was our first time. They took the time to explain the menu and give options even though they were quite busy for a Monday morning. We ordered two of the egg breakfast sandwiches added avocado and mushrooms, and gosh it was yummy! The bread was super soft and I could've went for another. My Almondmilk latte pretty and fresh and presentation of the goodies was great! We will definitely be back when in the area. read more

Super friendly staff, and clean dining. There is art work on the walls that decorates it nicely and available for purchase. Various baked goodies that are a must to try! Coffee menu is not their strength so stick with a toast option or many of the other baked favorites. Tip... come at 10:00 am when they have the various menu items available such as the bacon toast or croque madame. They have a veggie version that I love to make it a sandwich with the croque madame and it's delicious. They go fast so come right at 10! read more

Need a quick bite ? Head to Ruby's in Lodi and you won't be disappointed. Their fast and friendly service will get you in and out fast. Ordered the sugar bun, egg sandwich, half grilled cheese and their soup of the day (potato leek soup) Everything was delicious! If you prefer to dine in, be prepared to wait as the place is a bit small and not a lot of seating. Overall experience was good. read more

This is a great casual breakfast spot. You order at the counter, and then they deliver your food to the table. It's super packed and loud, which would normally not be my vibe, but there's something about the place that makes it ok. The staff knows everyone in the cafe. They greet you when you come in, and greet many by name coming and when they leave. Now to the food. I had the coffee cake which is one of my favorite things on the planet. It had an amazing thick cinnamon sugar crust on top, the cake was so moist and delicious. It was the perfect size. Not too big and bready, and the perfect amount of the buttery sugar cinnamon crispy topping. I had the grilled ham and swiss, it was the best grilled sandwich I've had. The bread was perfectly browned and buttery without being greasy, it had a good amount of ham, and a spicy dijon mustard that wasn't to bitter, and had a horseradish type bite. The bread was a crusty rosemary (but subtle) sourdough, that was the perfect pairing to the sandwich. My husband had the breakfast sandwich and added bacon. It looked amazing, and he said it was delicious. He also got a side of toast with homemade jam, which I poached some of for my grilled ham and it was fantastic. I don't know what the jam was, but it was clearly homemade. Maybe marionberry? Next stop here lunch!! Check out the coffees too, they do an amazing cappuccino. The staff is a well oiled machine. read more

Ruby's has the best pastries in the 209! All their staff are very friendly and inviting! You can smell the aroma of the pastries from a block away. It's not really a place to study though, it's more of a socializing environment since it's kind of loud. Overall I'd give it 5/5 stars ! read more

I would say the ham and cheese croissant is my favorite here, everything else is like any other pastry. I will say that our family pre-ordered a pumpkin cheesecake for Thanksgiving and when they went to pick it up, they had cut into it and sold some slices. They offered to give us the pie as is but they missed the point that we needed it for our thanksgiving gathering and then tried to refund us via gift card instead of our money back. ‍ read more

Wow wow wow this place has the best pastries! Their croissants are so crispy and nutty. It's buttery deliciousness! I came here on a Saturday morning and was amazed at the full pastries display. Everything are freshly baked in the morning and they all look so good! I tried the chorizo danish and the almond croissant. The chorizo danish was my favorite! It was very flavorful and paired well with the salsa on the side. The almond croissant had a generous amount of filling and almonds. It was delicious as is but it would be even better if the almond flavor is stronger in my opinion. read more

Great food and coffee. It's an actual working bakery! I got the iced decaf americano (fabulous) and the egg plate (bacon was delish). My husband ordered a drip coffee to go with the deli sandwich (loved it). My son had the classic croissant with cappuccino (nicely foamed). It was a bit warm in the bakery cafe during the summer. Most of it is self-serve, but the food makes up for anything that is lacking. We would come back again for sure. read more

The food here is decent and the staff is friendly but it's so loud inside that it's hard to think, I paid $17 for a sandwich which seems almost criminal for what you get. Watching them bake and moving the bread dough with there hairy arms seems yuck. read more

The first time I visited this place I loved the vibe inside. Everything was so clean. The staff was so friendly and just very welcoming. I had tried their avocado toast and it was delicious. I also had a chai latte which was a little on the unsweet side, so it was perfect for me since I am trying to lose some weight lol. And then I went the second time to purchase a sourdough bread loaf. It was a little hard on the outside, but still very delicious after I warmed it up it had gotten soft.(by the way, it was a to go order.) overall it's a very cute place to visit for breakfast lunch or just a girls day out, definitely recommend. read more

OMG. I'm in croissant heaven!!! You've got to be kidding me. Seriously? It's the definition of flaky and.. otherworldly. Can croissants like this really exist? Wait, let me take a second bite. I'm crying, this is not meant for mortal consumption. These are croissants for the gods. Man. I hate living in the Bay Area cuz I have to drive this far for a bakery experience like this. Btw, these people are awesome. They noticed my kid staring through the glass at the prep area (yeah, they have a prep area where you can watch the bakers knead the dough, etc), and a gentleman came out and explained to her how they ferment the dough and make it into croissants. My daughter thought he was a rock star. He then gave her a little pinch of dough to play with and bring home, and suffice it to say, she was over the moon. It was the sweetest thing and she's still talking about it! read more

Third time, review has to let Lodians know. Not to mention they aren't the most polite people either. I visited Ruby's Bakery and Cafe on a Sunday morning around 8:15 a.m., and despite it being quite busy, the line moved surprisingly fast, which was a relief. While there is limited seating inside, I do wish they offered outdoor seating, especially on those nice, cool mornings. The coffee here is pretty good - their syrups are made in-house and pair well with their standout baked goods. Speaking of which, their pastries are incredible! I tried the Chocolate Hazelnut Twist and the Chocolate Almond Croissant, and both were absolutely 10/10--flaky, rich, and full of flavor. The customer service was another highlight. The staff is welcoming and efficient, which made the experience even more enjoyable. I'll definitely be coming back to Ruby's for those pastries. Just get there early if you want a seat! read more

Thank God! Finally, a legit bakery in Lodi. When Cottage bakery closed down years ago, they left a huge void here, in Lodi, I'm here to tell you that Ruby's has filled that void and then some. I went today and they were very nearly sold out of everything so the word is out! The croissant I had may have been the best one I have ever had this side of San Francisco. The sourdough boule was fresh out of the oven and I will put this against ACME baking or, dare I say, Tartine! As a chef and baker I can tell you that this place is the real deal. Get there early (they open at 8AM) and go there often. Lodi MUST support this business! read more
