Our visit to this store was definitely the low point of our trip. It wasn't so much the store itself but rather the owner who works there. This guy seems desperate to squeeze every dime out of customers for his collection of heavily used clothes. To be fair, he does have some interesting finds, but you can find similar items on Amazon for much cheaper without dealing with such an unpleasant experience. This is by far the best thrift store I have been to! The owner was extremely friendly despite us being there as she was about to close. They have a wide selection of clothing but the best is the outdoor brands for a discounted price (Patagonia, Columbia, Carhartt, etc.). It is located right on the main street and is always fun to stop in to see what you can find! read more

We were staying in Salida on our way to Telluride, and we decided to visit the cute downtown area. That is when we happened upon Ruby Blues. The store had such a great name that we decided to stop in. Ruby Blues is a second hand store which has vintage clothing, records, bicycles, kitchenware, shoes etc. The best part is that it is not filled with junk. You can tell the owners are selective in what they put in their store. One thing that was great about this place was the amount of winter and hiking wear that they had for reasonable prices. Being from Alabama, we didn't realize that there would still be snow on the ground in the mountains in June, and that it was important to wear a fleece and tobaggan with your shorts. I really love to find local vintage/thrift locations when I travel and I was about to walk pass this store when I saw an old Hazel Atlas Kitchen Aid Mug in the window that made me stop and look inside. The mug looked great and I see some vintage Pyrex around the store used as business cards holder, or pin holder. I found out that the owners would go around finding items from other thrifts and estate sales and bring it back to their shop, even when they travel. This is a vintage gem and anyone who is a thrifter should come check this place out. The prices are wallet friendly, unlike some second hand stores in Denver, this place still has the items marked reasonably. I got my mug, and I'll definitely be back to Ruby Blues when I'm back to Salida for a visit. A must stop! read more

I am a very serious thrifter - I love Goodwill, ARC, consignment stores and estate sales. Bring them on. But, this second hand store has was most of my favorite thrift stores lack - serious inventory of outdoor and exercise wear. For real. I couldn't stop finding amazing things to put into my hiking, biking, workout wardrobe. Good prices too. I can't believe that no one has reviewed this place!this shop is an adorable 2nd hand clothing shop filled with vintage clothes for women, men, and a little section for kids. There are lots of great accessories, shoes, vintage dishes, and records. I have to stop in here and get something whenever I'm visiting Salida. I was here last week and the store had a bunch of vintage sailor flare bottom jeans. No front pocket and high waste. You'd pay over $150 for the same thing at Anthropologie.
