I have been going to this place for more than a year now, and they always do a wonderful job whether it's a haircut or a hair color. Munira is best at doing her job. She don't rush you and gives you exactly what you are looking for. Also, Shirin did an awesome job on my haircut and style. I will definitely seeing them again. Their prices are very reasonable and affordable. All the staff do a great job. They are very nice and helpful. They have a large TV playing Bollywood songs all time to get you entertained while you having your hair services done. They also recommond nice hair products for you that they carry in the store. They are little pricey but worth it. The facility is very clean and professional. Very inviting atmosphere and looks spacious. Limited parking is available in front of the store, but additional parking is available behind the store. Highly recommend this place to anyone to try if you are nearby or in the area. I'm cheap and don't usually like paying to get things done that I could do myself, like my nails or my makeup. However, I am also VERY lazy and it had been a good while since I had touched up my messy eyebrows. My friend suggested a girls group hangout to get our brows threaded then grab lunch, so I pounced at the opportunity. The parking lot sucks. Getting in was ok, but getting out is a nightmare. Just grow up and deal with it (just giving myself some tough love). We made an appointment the morning of our 1pm desired time. Priya, our recommendation, works at both the Global Mall and Decatur locations, so we had to call ahead to see which one she was working at. Once there (in Decatur), we signed in via the mobile app provided on the iPad at the counter. Each person took 5 minutes tops with Priya, depending on how dreadful one's state of affairs was in the eyebrow realm. When it came to my turn, she asked if I had ever been threaded before and walked me through what she was going to do. I have a pretty high pain tolerance so I wasn't too fazed by the threading. Let me first say I have been visiting facial salons for many years now and in all the cities I've lived in from Singapore to China to here (my first visit). Both basic facials to mid range to high range facials. Before visiting Ruby's I've heard from fellow friends that Atlanta doesn't really have good facials i.e. pore extractions, cleansing etc. So when I read that Ruby provide blackhead extractions, I was keen to try. Upon entering I was greeted by Naz(?) she quickly brought me into a room and proceeded to assume I wanted the regular facial. I told her it was my first visit and asked her what other types of facials Ruby provides she proceeded to run a few off her head. No real details, just names of facial program without any benefits/properties that the facial gives. When asked further, I was then given a price list and facial program. When I decided on a program, she promptly wiped my face with some liquid, I assumed it was toner. Then she organized the steamer over my face and disappeared. I was surprised that she did not proceed to cleanse my face, followed by a scrub before steaming to open the pores. So maybe this place does it differently. After 10mins she came back and used an instrument to briefly scrape my face telling me that this will remove any black head and white heads. This was a shocker to me cos usually any facial salons will spend time extracting blackheads with a similar instrument but under magnifying glass. She was so brief it lasted only about 30secs and did not even touch my forehead, forgot one cheek and she was done! I felt cheated. Then a cream (which did not smell nice) was applied onto my face before she disappeared again. Came back 20mins later and she began to massage my face, neck and shoulders. Her technique was the best since the beginning of this facial. I complimented her on her skills. She was glad. She spent about 20mins on the massage and was told she was done after she wiped the cream off my face. I was then told to get up and wash my face with water, change and meet her at the front to check out. This entire facial experience was a shocker. I did not feel that I left the facial with any less blackhead than when I started. I'm definitely finding something that is more attentive to my blackheads. Somewhere that doesn't feel slipshody. They might be good at threading but facials, I think not. read more

The ladies working here are really nice and always do a good job. There are a host of many other beauty services, but I've only gotten my eyebrows done so I can't speak for anyone else. I can't believe that I haven't written a review for this place as of yet. The service is pretty solid here. I had a Brazilian done here and it was up to par. The young lady who did it was very sweet. I also had my eyebrows done and that was just okay. This was a different person who seemed to do things on the face. Again though, she was very pleasant. Thanks to my beloved Yelp, I was able to discover this no frills joint on my way from the farmers market. Pleased to report that I am now the proud owner of a clean set of lovely brows that are not in that hideously thin super bitch slash look that seems to be the go to style sometimes. I must admit, I am not super maniacal about my eyebrows, they have a decent shape even when I've let them run wild, and when I'm getting them done for 6 bucks, I tend to be even more lax. But today must have been my lucky day, as I had a minimal wait, and Rosie was the only one working. She seems to be a favorite, based on reviews and the super friendly client that was waiting with me, who said that Rosie was "the only one who can touch me." I love a passionate personal recommendation, even if it is from a stranger. Well, guess what? I thought Rosie did a great job. She made sure I was okay with the residual shape of my overgrown brows, and proceeded to thread the hell out of them. She also did a good bit of work on my forehead, which was clearly more hairy than I should feel comfortable disclosing in a review, but, who cares. My face looked so much brighter once she was finished. I swear, nice eyebrows can undo several other sins. I thought their overall prices were reasonable, and I would definitely go back. I definitely go out of my way to go here to get my eyebrows threaded. I have been several times, had a different stylist each time, and every time, they look fantastic. Some stylists are nicer, chattier, and thread with less pain than others, but they are all high quality. And you can tell by the number of people that they turn over. I was there for about an hour last time and counted at least 25 people getting their eyebrows threaded. Amazing. I went for threading and a last minute pedicure on a Saturday afternoon. Was seen in less than 10 minutes. Great eyebrow job, so-so pedicure and I had to wait in the pedicure chair for another 10 minutes after the threading to wait for someone to be available. She did a great job on nail and skin care on my feet, but the paint job was pretty bad. Oh well, I can paint my own toenails. I have also been for their wedding mehndi (henna) and they did a great job of seeing 8 of us and giving us basic henna and the bride's henna was just amazing. Lasted for nearly a month! This was the first place in Georgia that I got my eyebrows threaded. I've tried a couple other spots but ultimately, I've just decided that this will forever be my go-to spot for as long as I'm still in Georgia. Every time I visit, I go Naz to get 'em done. Let me tell you something about my eyebrows. I don't have a lot of hair there and one's even slightly shorter than the other. Not to mention, the ends of my brows try and curve up like a cat eye if I don't do anything to it for a while. So basically, they're not easy to shape in a way that pleases me. The other two threading spots I've been to failed to shape my brows in a way I liked. I only come here to get my eyebrows threaded. $6... not too bad. Sometimes I tip, sometimes I don't, depending on the end result. The wait here can get pretty lengthy sometimes though, so you may want to call ahead. I've never made an appointment for eyebrows before though. If you get an upper lip threading with the eyebrow threading, they only charge you $2 more instead of $3... at least in my past experiences. The staff here is nice and they spend a good amount of time doing work on your precious eyebrows. Most of the time I haven't left the place looking like a witch with crazy arches or something. Got a wax here and it was terrible. It was my first time getting a Brazilian wax as I told the lady, and all she said was "Oh". Didn't tell me what to expect, how to care for it, literally nothing but to get on the table. Not only did she fail to remove all the hair, but she burned me as well. Yikes! Have they gotten cocky with their service? Came in asking for eyebrows and upper lip threading. While I was in the chair getting my eyebrows threaded, the threader asked me if I wanted something else. I replied "upper lip." After she threaded my eyebrows, for some reason she went straight to my chin. I didn't stop her because who's going to turn down a free chin threading sesh? She finished my upper lip and I went to pay. She asked another employee how much chin, upper lip, and eyebrows cost. The other employee responded "$12". At this point I start getting upset. I told both of them that I only asked for upper lip and eyebrows, and never said anything about chin. She said that I told her I wanted chin. Turns out that mumbling of hers when she asked if I wanted anything else was basically her up-selling chin threading lol. I told her that I'd pay the $12 and left. I ended up tipping $2 so i paid $14. My Hamsa bracelet can only handle so much evil eye, so I wanted to avoid this as much as possible, which is why I tipped. I walked out, sat in my car and lo and behold, my chin is full of stray hairs. What kind of half ass chin threading did I receive lol? Tons of stray hairs on my upper lip too. I have not been to Ruby Beauty Center for 2 years, but when I did go, I saw Rosie the few times I went, so I can not comment on the others. Someone recommended her to me because I have weird bushy brows that are tough to deal with and I like them to look natural when they are threaded. Anyhow I was happy with Rosie, but I had not gone because I don't go to that area, and when I do, the place is booked. I don't like to go as a walk-in when they are busy because you will have to wait a long time. I just went recently after a long hiatus. Previous few times I have been to DC nails, which I am happy with and they charge only $4, but this time I thought, since my sister is visiting, lets go see Rosie if she is available. We were told she was and made an appointment. We go and the one lady I see working does not look like the Rosie I remembered. when we signed in on the appointment sheet, we wrote Rosie as our beautician, and we had confirmed on the phone when making an appointment that we wanted Rosie. I thought that maybe this lady could still be Rosie but its been a long time and maybe my memory is going bad. As I sat in the chair I had an odd feeling, because not only does this lady not look like the Rosie I remembered, she also acted very differently (quiet and not saying much). I wanted to ask if she was Rosie but I thought that is crazy.. why would someone not say Rosie was not there, when we even wrote Rosie's name on that sheet. Well I really should have gone with my feelings, because when I saw my eyebrows I was not happy. Now that I am used to looking at my eyebrows, they are just "OK" but not good as they could be. Paying $6 for that is a waste, I could have done this myself at home. Another customer walked in asked where Rosie was and the lady told her Rosie was out.... I thought OMG this lady really did what I thought someone would not have the audacity to do. I obviously gave no tip, I did not even want to give $6. I won't go there ever again and just stick to DC nails. If you know what Rosie looks like and have not a long hiatus as I had, you won't have my experience, but I think it would suck if you drove out there expecting to get the person you want to thread your eyebrows, or whatever, and she is not even there. In summary, it bothered me that I felt tricked into thinking I had Rosie, but I did not, and finally, that my eyebrows now need to grow out and I have to go get them re-threaded to how I want them. read more

This isn't something I generally admit, but I have a serious jungle brows issue. When threaded properly, they could rival Cara Delevingne's, but if I don't get them done every 2 weeks, my brows automatically propel my face into Cromagnon territory. Not cute. So naturally, when I moved to Atlanta, I was prepared to suffer many indignities re: eyebrows. After I got to the point where I could be the "before" picture for someone suffering hirsuitism, I swallowed my pride and straight up creeped on an Indian lady with nice brows outside the CDC to ask where she got hers done, and she told me about Ruby Beauty Center. I am so glad I followed her recommendation! I actually think they do a better job than my beloved eyebrow lady at home, because they are so careful not to shorten my brows or thin them out while they perfect that arch. I've had waxing done here before too (sideburns, stomach/back), and they do a very thorough job. I have really sensitive skin that normally breaks out in response to waxing, but even that was minimal. They're always accommodating me when I come in with no appointment - I've never had to wait more than 15 minutes, and that's at peak hours, because I'm never free otherwise. Also, as an aside, there's no ambience here - it's not the posh salon you'd take your girlfriends to - but it IS the place you come back to, again and again, because it's affordable and they do an AMAZING job. I called ahead to move my original appointment up 30 minutes and she said it was fine. However, when I got there I had to wait because a drop-in customer had gotten there literally 1 minute before me. In what universe do you take a drop-in before someone who is on time for their appointment?! I sat for nearly 30 minutes until my original appointment time and finally got fed up and asked the woman behind the counter when I will be seen. She barely paid attention to me and continued to talk on the phone. There were at least 3 other people waiting to be seen now. Finally another woman working there said she would do my threading immediately. It took less than ten minutes and was quite cheap (I think $8 for both threadings) so I was satisfied, but I'm not sure if I'd come back if I don't have a bunch of time to just sit there and wait! read more

They did a good job. It's cheery inside. I loved the indian music videos on the t.v., all of which seemed to have a robotic theme to them. The service itself was decent. Not much conversation, she got me in and out. I'm weird about hair, and they definitely didn't clean up after each client- which made me a little nervous. But the best part- was they did a great job keeping my eyebrows thick and natural and they only charged me $6. Much less expensive than going to a nail salon. read more

I have been a long time customer at this place, yet I have had two very bad experiences with respect to customer service. I usually call up before I go there to get a heads up on the waiting time to get my eyebrows done. I have waited for 15 plus minutes on most occasions and a couple of times the wait time was 45 plus minutes. What really frustrated me was, they attended to customers who had facials done (or at least that is what Rose says) the same day without attending to me who was waiting for 45 plus minutes prior to the facial customer walking in especially after being told on the phone that there is no wait time. This according to me is blatant unfair treatment of customers. I have been going to the same place for 2 plus years because of the convenience of the location on my way back from work. I have been going to Ruby's for almost 10 years. I don't shape my eyebrows, but I've been going there for my haircuts, and now hair coloring and bikini wax. Over the years, I've had several stylists as staff rotate, and I've never been disappointed. My current go to ladies are Naz and Rosie, and they do an excellent job. The prices are also very very affordable. When I've not been in Atlanta and had to get my hair cut, I paid double the amount I do at Ruby's, and they still did not do as good of a job as Naz and Rosie. The only negative is that the wait can be long, especially if you don't have an appointment. Sometimes, even with an appointment, you might have to wait. read more

Never again!! I went in norcross location for my hair roots touch ups redish brown. had color done wrong, nayeed agreed to fix it and she dyed myhair black. After complaining arguing back and forth she agreed to fix it one last time third time, I made mistake to go back and now have four different colors in my hair, three very visible. Nayeed was doing my hair so she agreed to fix it. then she lied that she didnt' agreed to fix my hair color without paying any extra money. then she called police on me. No customer service what so ever. saleema needs some serious training and train their staff. I have had bad experience at ruby's two different locations.
