This place is a local gem!! The burritos are MASSIVE and delicious. We also tried some smash burgers and they were juicy & so flavorful. 10/10 recommend!!

Very excited for Rubio's who is doing Mexican food right! Al pastor had great flavor and all fresh ingredients. Same space but looks like they're doing some renovations. Will be back to try the burgers!

Chips and guac and queso. Barbacoa burrito. El pastor bowl.

Fantastic. Ditch Chipotle and do local with this gem. The meat choices were absolutely delicious. We had the barbacoa and el pastor. Wow wow wow. Huge portions. Really fresh ingredients. Guac and queso were top notch, as well. Yummy!!! Reasonable pricing. Super friendly service. Can't wait to go back.

Fun busy atmosphere, good apps. You might wait a bit to get in but it's a great place to grab a bite.

Oh my god. Tasteless food. Bad service. It's exactly the same as the precious place. I would rather eat at Taco Bell

I really like the story that gets told about how this cookie-cutter gas station has a food counter…read morewith mind-blowing food. But that last part doesn't match my experience. I had so-so birria tacos (no consomme, single soft-corn tortilla) and so-so horchata (served in a sealed bag that looks like an IV pouch, actually kind of funny), along with a tasty and particularly juicy elote. My friend got the Asada Mulita and he quite enjoyed it. That seemed like a good deal for $9, and $4.90 per taco for what I got is okay. The ambiance absolutely does not rise above what you would expect from an unremarkable, utilitarian convenience store with a few tables that aren't routinely wiped down. You can order online (highly recommended) or from a screen near their covered-up window. Whenever a food place is clearly hiding its employees from its customers, I'm nervous that I will be ignored. But someone was constantly popping out and asking people what their names were, and telling them how many minutes they can expect to wait. (Waiting = standing next to the salty snacks shelves.) I see now that they have Al Pastor Chicken with Pineapple Pico and I definitely want to come back and try that. Maybe I'll raise my rating if I love it. Meanwhile, I'd recommend considering this at least for the experience, but order ahead and expect a 30-minute wait. Also note that they close at 7pm.

On this occasion got the chicken al pastor and shrimp tacos. We also got an order of guac and chips to share. El sazón, we will be back. Thank you for continuing to deliver wonderful food. My faves: -shrimp taco (great balance with crispy shrimp and red cabbage on top. Love it) -guacamole (always so fresh and delicious) Take it or leave it: -el pastor taco (good but I prefer birria or shrimp over this) -chips (not my fave chips-a bit over salted/greasy but the guac is so good you barely notice).

Now that I live in the area I am so thankful that a food truck that serves authentic Mexican food is here ! You don't have authentic food in this Shoreview area really. All you have is chipotle and Pancheros Mexican grill which did not pass the test for good food. Here you have a wide selection of meat choices: Beef: ASADA( beef steak), BARBACOA (Beef cooked in guajillo sauce and spices with the house recipe "not spicy"), cabeza (Beef head), LENGUA, (Beef tongue), SUADERO (Beef skirts), and CECINA PORK: PASTOR (Beef skirt), CARNITAS (Deep fried pork) CHORIZO (Mexican sausage) CHICHARRON EN SALSA VERDE (Crackling pork cooked with tomatillo) CHICKEN: POLLO(Grill chicken breast) TINGA (Chicken marinated with chipotle sauce and jalapeños Trust me it's so hard to find a place that makes lengua tacos which are by far my favorite. I love that the order of tacos comes with slices of cucumber because it's something refreshing to munch on at the end or whenever. The tacos had flavor and the portions were pretty good definitely not small tacos. The enchiladas were delicious and had some spicynes to it which my mom would approve of. Service is always always great and you have the option of calling and placing an order, coming to the place and ordering or doing a door dash order. There is a picnic table at the side if you want to eat these as well. I honestly can't wait to come here in the morning and check out their breakfast menu.
