But the lack of professionalism and arrogance displayed by the famed "Sunset Team" today while at their new listing on 621 La Jolla really takes the cake for the poorest open house I've ever experienced. Walking in my girl friend and I moved in slowly from the from door through to the back yard walking slowly, speaking softly and pouring out items along the way. It wasn't until we got to the very back if the property, a good 5-7 minutes in to our visit, I pulled out my camera to snap a photo of the pool area. At which point the agent inside suddenly appeared shouting no photos! The owner doesn't want photos! There are much better photos available on the web site. And he left. No hello, no can I answer any questions, no offer give us the web site with the photos. Nothing. Just a rude dismissive look and attitude. We ventured inside, past the two agents, and made our way upstairs and still were never addressed, never welcomed or spoken to again. Just given an up and down look and ignored. They weren't busy so a hi and welcome would have been nice. And we lingered,asking ourselves out loud, as we were reading the stat sheet on the house what is the square footage? To which we got more indifference and were ignored. We wandered up stairs, browsed, came back down and again lingered a few minutes before slowly making our way to the from door. Again , not a word, not a single acknowledgement of our presence. Other guys and girls were wandering around and some got hellos and some got welcomes. But for the most part the two agent just stood there, hands clasped behind or in front of themselves ignoring everyone. If I were the owner I would be very disappointed to know that these two lumps on a log were trying to sell my house. If they don't want to be there, fake it. Or leave. Don't make everyone feel awkward to be in the same space as you. The sad part is, my friend is actually in the market for a duplex and I thought we could meet the realtors to talk about other availability in the area.... Ha! Never. This Sunset Team is not the team we would want to work with and nor could I understand who else would possibly want to work with them either. The sun has set on this team for sure.

John Doan and his team let me know that they could meet a 30-day closing and due mostly to preventable delays in-house, they were not able to meet the closing and I had to request an extension. Luckily, the seller agreed to an extension of the date that Equinox suggested. That date came around and I was still not able to close on my property and had to request a second extension. Again, it was a good thing that the seller was so understanding because at that point they could have walked away with my earnest money. I spoke to John Doan directly about the issues that I was facing and how I was unsatisfied about the service of his team and he told me he would look into it and get back to me. That was three weeks ago, so I am going to assume that he never looked into it and leave my review now. I have a friend who asked me about my recent purchase and was looking for recommendations to obtain financing on two properties, I will be telling him to go elsewhere than I did.
