First I want to mention that my wife and I are still in the escrow process. First of all we would like to apologize to Mark and his team for the super late review (8 months later). Back in June 2020 we were notified from our landlord that she would need her house back at the end of our lease. This gave us about 2 months to either find another rental, or actually try and buy a house in the middle of the pandemic. We contacted Mark ASAP and we jumped on a zoom meeting that evening. He walked us through the overall process as first time buyers as we explained our unique situation. Where do I begin? We met Mark by chance at an open house. He was the listing agent of this pool home in Cerritos. Unlike many other agents, Mark didn't pressure us into talking to him or giving him our contact information as we looked around the house but we are SOOOOO glad that we did. He is like the helpful Honda person of real estate but imagine with Tesla and Nordstrom customer service standards. I mean he went above and beyond to make sure that we understand the home buying process. He was very patient in answering all of our questions. You better believe when I say that I am a certified first-time home buyer who asked A LOT of questions. He's very responsive and always reachable even when he's out of town. I just closed escrow last week and finally had have time to write a review that does Mark justice. This will be a somewhat lengthy review, but here's the gist: I had an excellent first time buying experience with Mark and have been recommending him to anyone who even mentions property to me. As with many things, one must experience the bad to appreciate the good. Before working with Mark, I knew little about house buying and I had found an agent through Redfin. While that agent was nice enough - there were some big issues in hindsight. He would send me properties that had things I told him were deal-breakers, take days to respond to emails, be chronically late, and generally would not provide much insight into each property we viewed. He would also also encourage me to 'just put an offer on it, and see what happens,' with properties I wasn't sure about. In stark contrast, Mark responds in minutes or hours, found properties that my wife and I really liked, and would provide solid knowledge about the property location, condition, warning signs etc. It felt that Mark was on my side, and not just trying to push through another sale for another commission. And though I know it not to be the case, with the amount and level of service Mark provided to me, sometimes it actually felt like I was his sole client. Here are a couple things that I felt really exemplifies the service Lorico Legacy and Mark provided: 1.) Mark scheduled and met with termite contractor, chimney inspector, and HVAC inspector all on separate days. I and most people have pesky daytime obligations like a 9-5 and can't always make time to meet with the inspectors. Mark saved me a big hassle by setting up the inspectors, meeting them at the house, and getting me the results. 2.) I was freaking out that it was the night that the first contingency was supposed to be lifted because it was on the weekend and never brought up. I thought we would lose the purchase or something. I sent a text or two of worry to Mark around 9:45PM and he, while in middle of putting his kids to bed, called me to allay my fears. On a side note, I think escrow closed with me having only lifted the final inspection contingency. That's still weird to me. 3.) Mark hosted a client appreciation bowling pin party with some pretty sweet raffle prizes. I pigged out on the food and got to meet his other happy clients. I got to bowl a frame and won a nice gift card, though I was hoping for the Ring doorbell camera! It was a fun time and shows how Mark goes above what's normal for his clients. 4.) Offered to checkout houses I can't make it to and YouTube the walkthrough for me. As for Mark himself, he was always very professional, punctual (big deal to me), patient and friendly. I have a habit of asking many many questions and he would always try to answer them sincerely. His communication with me was clear and concise. And if for some reason, it matters to you, he's got good style and sweet shoes. What more could you ask for? read more
