It was my first time undertaking a major project like this at my house and Irvin was very professional and friendly. Before starting work, he told me what to expect and gave me a fair estimate. Definitely would recommend and hire this company again.

We used to have to climb up a small retaining wall to get to our second deck and we wanted stairs ASAP. We were told the job would be done in two days and it was! Wow! They worked diligently. They were very punctual and made sure to do the job correctly following our HOA guidelines. They were even kind enough to offer us to leave family handprints although, in the end, we decided against it. Thank you guys!! These stairs look better than what I imagined.

Our home is 14 years old and starting to feel a little dated since we've kept most of the builder…read moregrade items that originally came with the house. We've done a few small upgrades here and there but want to do a cosmetic remodel (flooring , paint, carpet , cabinetry , stone, bathrooms, trim etc...). Shopping around has been a pain as most contractors are really vague and not transparent about pricing. I don't like to jump in to things unless I have an idea of what I'm getting in to , especially when we're talking thousands of dollars. I came across this company as I saw they fully remodeled a home near me (that was recently sold) and their work and design looked good. So I gave them a call and Leo (estimator) was really honest and upfront about their process and more importantly gave me a good ballpark range of what I need to come in with for a full remodel. Also provided some ideas on breaking up the project in to phases (something I never thought about). I normally wouldn't write a review but given the bad experiences I've had just getting a quote from other contractors I'm thoroughly impressed with this company so far.

They took the time to assess the entire roof and identify all the issues, while other companies either missed things, only addressed part of the problem, or quoted high prices without a complete solution. Jay and his team were communicative and professional throughout the entire process, which made everything much smoother. They had a large crew working efficiently, and a significant portion of the roof was completed in less than two days. Since the work was done, we've had several rounds of rain, and everything has held up perfectly so far. They also provided a two-year warranty, which gave us extra peace of mind and wasn't something most other companies offered. Overall, Aztlan Roofing delivered solid, thorough work at a fair price. Jay and his team were reliable, efficient, and easy to work with. I would absolutely recommend them. Thank you Jay and Team!!

We contracted with GVS Construction LLC for a first-floor kitchen remodel in Jan-18. Payment terms…read moreof the contract was 50% up front, 50% at completion. The estimated timeline to finish was 6 weeks. We asked GVS to review the poor quality of work on multiple tasks in the project, none of which was done according to quality workmanship & standard practices. FLOORING: We had to point out multiple tiles that were installed & were hollow, not properly spaced, & unlevel. These tiles all had to be replaced. They left a 2" gap of exposed concrete at the base of our stairs & told us to get a piece of molding & thicker carpet on our stairs to fill it. Next, they did not properly protect the flooring as they completed the rest of the work. As other tasks were completed, it caked the floor with debris that they would mop up daily. This wet mop made a paste of debris that basically glued to the flooring, making the brown tile & grout look white. When questioned, GVS told us that the final cleaning at the end would take care of it. After 4 days of their crew cleaning the floors with mop-n-glow, they finally called in a professional floor cleaner. This helped clean the tiles, but it did not clean the grout. What we discovered from the cleaning was chipped tiles, eroded grout, & exposed spacers. We need to have the chips repaired, the spacers removed, & the entire floor re-grouted (and possibly stained to color match the grouts). CABINETS: The cabinets have exposed finishing nails poking into the cabinet box. One cabinet was assembled so poorly that it has a gap that exposes the wall behind it. The hardware handles are crooked where 2 handles next to each other are 1/8" off. They scratched our new microwave & tried to buff it out. However, instead of buffing the stainless with the grain, they swirled it, so they ruined the finish in a larger area than the original scratch. They also scratched our new cooktop. As of June 2018, these things need to be repaired. COUNTERTOPS/SINK: GVS cut the granite wrong the first time they installed & had to remove them, get a new slab, & try again. On the second try, they still were cut wrong & had to take those back to adjust. As of June 2018, there is a crack in the granite at the sink cutout. The sink cutouts around the apron front are rough & unpolished. And, to complicate things more, they broke our farm sink beyond repair, so we are waiting for the replacement to arrive so we can reinstall again. Because of the unfinished sink, they also never finished the install of the granite on the island, so we need to center & glue down the island granite. EXTERIOR STUCCO: We relocated our back-door slider to a new spot. GVS was to fill in the old door & any indication that a door was there. On their first install of the stucco, there was a clear line outlining where the old door was. When we pointed this out to GVS, they said it needed to be rubbed out & would be fine. The next thing we knew, it was painted & the line was no better. We pointed out the bad work a 2nd time. GVS had to re-do this work by removing all the stucco work & start over. Despite their 2nd attempt at this job, we can still see the outline of our old door & this will need to be done a 3rd time. DRYWALL: We can see every drywall patch done by GVS. We gave them 4th & 5th tries at remedying this problem in multiple locations in our home. When asked about the poor quality of work, GVS said that it was patch work & we can't expect it to be invisible. They said we are getting a remodel, not a Rolls Royce. As of June 2018, we will need to hire a drywall professional to fix the patch work poorly done by GVS. PAINT: We had to point out to GVS areas where a second coat of paint was needed. We also had to point out areas where they missed painting completely. And, despite multiple attempts to make clean lines between the walls and ceiling, we are left with wobbly paint lines. As of June 2018, we will need to have our paint touched up in areas where the job was poorly done. By June 2018, we were well passed the 6-week expected completion date and GVS was clearly having financial problems. They complained to us how they were losing money on our project. We retorted this comment with the fact that if they had done the work right the first time, they wouldn't be losing money on the project. The owner began bullying us for payment even though the job wasn't done. He cursed us out, calling my husband a 'd-ck' & a 'picky a- -hole'. He also threatened "to come over and start ripping sh-t out". Next, to bully us to pay for unfinished & poorly done work, they sent a notice of intent to lien. At that point, we had enough of their bad work & bullying. It was clear that GVS wasn't willing to finish our project & we got an attorney. We opted to offer a settlement payment to GVS to sever the relationship. We have filed a complaint with the NSCB & are posting this review to let other consumers know to proceed with caution if you choose GVS.
