I've used the Nine Mile Station on many occasions, mostly to take the bus to the airport, AKA Skyride. The buses they use are of the "Greyhound" type with nice comfy seats with storage space for your luggage below. Most people who ride the Skyride line are airport employees. There's always plenty of room and the bus is always right on schedule. There's plenty of free parking with surprised me. Go up to the second level and it's practically empty. I believe you can park there for free for 24 hours. After that, I'm not sure what happens. Maybe a ticket? Again, I don't know. I just know the limit is 24 hours according to signs. You might want to check on that if you were planning on leaving your car there when you for your plane trip. I decided to give the RTD light rail a try. I used their online trip planner to go to Coors field. It actually doesn't get really close to Coors field...but close enough...about .7 miles using the H line. At Nine Mile I used the ticket kiosks. It was fairly user friendly but I couldn't figure out the difference between a "quick pass" and a day pass, except the quick pass was a few dollars more. There is also some kind of card validating system in place but again to apparently validate the ticket you just purchased but nobody knew how to use it or why to use it if you just bought a day pass. The walk to the platform was well lit and pretty clean. You have the option of taking the elevator or walking up a couple flights of stairs. The light rail is very clean and runs on time. There were signs well posted on the windows that masks were required but most people ignored it. Nobody checked our tickets or came on board to enforce the mask policy. Returning from the baseball game we had a pretty long wait. I wish they would run a few more rail cars from downtown where there are sporting events or special events. Anyway, I think 9 Mile is a great as far as public transportation goes. Many other countries have the USA beat hands down when it comes to public transportation, but this is not a bad effort to provide good, affordable, efficient, and dependable public transportation. It was a little stressful parking here as it's not busy and there was a guy sitting in his car. I worried about safety and security. The train was not busy or crowded. Masks are still required on the platform and train. It was nice being able to sit on my own seat. Not crowded as before the pandemic when it was standing room only and we were all packed in. Got back to the station and was relieved to find my car there. There was a RTD officer sitting in their car. This made me feel safer. I'll be taking the train again. read more

Beware! Drivers Depart Early! No refunds given, even if they leave you at the curb. I arrived on 12/16 to catch the 1:17 pm airport bus. We reached the RTD lot at 1:11 pm, just as the bus was pulling in. The driver clearly saw that we were there for his bus (with no other buses around) and knew we needed to run over to the vending machine to purchase tickets. By 1:15 pm, we had tickets in hand and were heading back towards his bus. Despite clearly seeing us approaching, the driver departed anyway. I checked my watch, and it was 1:16 pm. The driver left early, leaving my wife and me stranded on the curb. Since the next bus wasn't for another hour, we had no choice but to call an Uber to get to the airport. I called RTD customer service later to request a refund or credit. After an 18-day "investigation," they determined that we were at fault because the bus was not obligated to wait for us. According to them, "all other passengers had boarded, and it would have inconvenienced them for the driver to wait until the posted departure time. Therefore, he was free to leave." We received no refund or passes for a future trip. This experience highlights very poor customer service from RTD, especially since I just wanted two passes for a future trip. read more

Lots of parking if you get there before 8 am or after 5. Be careful of the upper deck drainage in the rain, it does tend to build up a lot. This major hub station will get you bus, train and taxi if needed. Uptown, downtown, north, south even to the Pepsi Center, Invesco and union station. Great alternative to games, concerts and festivals. Yes, our public transportation costs can be high..but so is downtown parking during events. read more

For it being the last stop on the H line, you would think it would be a little more accessible or easy to get around. Nope. This place is dirty, it's difficult to get into whether you're coming from North or South Parker and it's full of skewers and weirdos. I want there to be sanitizer misters because it's that nasty with a good number of questionable people. I only come here if I'm going to ride the light rail during the day, I would not and do not feel like I could come here at night and be safe. You fail, RTD. read more

My daughter parked my car there at around 1:30 on a Friday afternoon about 1 month ago, came back at 4:30 and the car was gone. Stolen. RTD security were pleasant, but totally unhelpful. Said they had security cameras, but nothing came of it. Police found the car about two weeks later: rear window knocked out, steering column cover busted off, wires on column cut. Bicycle stuffed in back. Looks like thief had plenty of time to commit the crime. My belief is punk was riding around parking garage on bicycle looking for something he could steal. If I could go negative stars I would. There is NEVER any parking at this station and I always have to park where I probably am not supposed to. They need to add more parking somewhere because this is an end station so of course there will be more people. I have gotten to this station at 5 in the morning and there is no parking. These rtd people don't know what they are doing and need to fix the problem. I am sick of having to search for parking for 30 minutes. read more

This light rail station is in a very convenient location. I've been taking this ride for years. It can be a bit dirty at times with trash or waste. The service is usually always on time though and I've never ran into any issues. read more

Survival Guide to nine mile, Information documented in journals of three years experiencing and overcoming challenges from these adventures while at nine mile. What you will need, 1. Hand sanitizer (Do not I repeat do not touch hand rails or walls) 2. Closed toe shoes, ( you have some walking to do if you parked in the lot and please lord don't let your bare feet or toes touch the ground) 3. Keys in hand, (You will want to get in your car as fast as you can if at night.) 4. A book or head phones ( helps to keep unwanted conversations accruing) Tips to help you get through this. 1. When train arrives, wait a bit before getting off or you will soon feel like you joined a herd of cattle charging down the stairs. 2. I find staying to the left side of stairs when going down is safe from the usually bumping and impatient trampling people. 3. Watch where you step, birds live in this area and are sure to leave small little traps for you, also spit puddles have been found on many of the stairs! 4. Unless you have to use the elevators it is better to avoid them. You will be stuffed so tight in there you will be forced to say something to the person you are pushed up against to avoid the awkwardness due to the person who thinks they can fit just one more! 5. If it is around late afternoon or during rush hour and have parked in the lot (you poor soul) Have water and snacks packed in your car. You will be here awhile. 6. When making your way through this confusing awful structure of a parking lot watch out for cars pulling out left and right, or some that will get you coming fast around the corner. 7. Be sure to let at least one person pull out on your way down, it adds to good karma, but be aware you can get one of those drivers that will then let everyone in front of him out on the way down! 8. Once you are almost out, just keep going! Don't worry about the rest keep going and don't look back! Positive side notes 1. There is one random port potty to the side near the bus stop... use at your own risk. 2. Some unique art sculpture attached to the underside of the highway when you make your way to the stairs. You will have to look up. 3. If you climb your way to the third floor of parking you can see a whole strip mall of empty shops except for a King Soopers that is the only store still open. Oh and they have good gas rates! 4. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger. read more

Nine Mile Station is irritating. If one is coming from the east or south, you have to make a left turn at a busy light. A busy light with an extremely short left turn light. If you are even remotely close to rush hours, be prepared to sit through multiple cycles. Once you make this turn, prepare for a long sweeping turn into the parking area. As you look around, you will realize that this whole parking area was built to fit an existing space. The parking garage is basically a parallelogram inside of a tear drop shape. This makes for awkward and confusing navigation. Once one has parked, one starts the relatively long trek to the ticketing machines. After that, one continues their journey by walking under I-225 (it looks like the set of a post apocalyptic film) and finally sees elevators and stairs heading up to the light rail. If you are departing from this station, make sure you allow plenty of time to turn, navigate, park, traverse, and scale your way to your train. read more

Nine Mile looks like it would be a convenient place, but it is cumbersome to get into, the ticket machines are hard to use and the orientation of the platform seems to accelerate the gusts of wind. If you can, grab the train at a stop further down the line. read more

I have used this light rail station for years, and it has yet to improve. There is hardly any parking available in the morning, and it is impossible especially when the light on Parker St. that goes left turn green in four minutes! Finally when you're able to find parking, you're most likely late for your train, even though you're 20 minutes early. The most important light rail passes by every 15 minutes, and it becomes inconvenient to even ride this light rail. I recommend the Southmoore Station, or Broadway. read more

This is a mediocre light rail for many reasons. The most important thing to know is that while parking is free, THERE IS NEVER ANY PARKING DURING RUSH HOUR. These are the hours between 5 and 10 am and well into the early afternoon. Even if you go to the rooftop you will scarcely find a spot unless you are lucky. Another problem is that there are not enough trains running. Currently, only the H line runs here and everyone this side of Aurora is trying to catch it to head downtown. They need trains running every 5 minutes during rush hour instead of every 10-15. There is no shelter from the harsh winter, the elevators are often broken (ADA violation), and there are two disgusting portapotties that are never cleaned and no sinks or sanitizer to cleanse your hands afterwards. If you can manage to find a parking spot, ride a working elevator, and get a seat on the light rail then you are one lucky bastard. Can't wait until they add more light rail stops in Aurora. read more

This park and ride gets full before 7:00 am. If this full, please don't even THINK OF PARKING in the opposite strip mall which is practically empty. Your car will get towed. RTD desperately needs to add at least one more floor to the parking. read more
