Please do your research. Mr. Ralph Home Improvement is NOT a licensed home improvement/kitchen…read morerenovation contractor. Although, I asked on our initial conversation and he confirmed that he was licensed. After seeing the pictures of a new kitchen and reading the excellent reviews posted on yelp I contacted Mr. Ralph. He first gave me a labor cost of to renovate my kitchen for $3,000. After a few days he text me dropping his price to $2,700. He said he understood my situation & was willing to help me out. Few days later he went to my home, measured, sent me a shopping list of the items I needed. I ordered them through Lowes. Had them delivered bc his truck didn't have room/space for all the materials. While waiting on the new cabinets he demoed the old kitchen cabinets, painted the ceiling, walls and trim. This is where things began to go south: After noticing the old wall were the original cabinets were not painted, I asked him why not paint the old walls? He was resistant bc the new cabinets where going to be installed and no one would see it. He later gave in & began painting the old yellow walls. He charged $500 for the paint job + I purchased the paint. The quality I was promised was NOT what I or my real estate agent was seeing. The purpose of this project was to renovate my old kitchen so I can list the house for sale. After telling Mr. Ralph I was not happy on how large the gap between the refrigerator and top cabinet is I asked if perhaps the cabinet can be switched to a bigger/more functional size. At first he told me the gap can be covered if I placed something on top of refrigerator. I said ok. I thought perhaps a sign or basket would do the work. A few days later my realtor goes in, sees the cabinets and was also not pleased. She's sold properties for many yrs and is able to tell something is wrong right away. She called me up- bc I'm out of state- sent me more pics and strongly encouraged me to get the right cabinets for this area. After reaching out to Mr. Ralph he became belligerent, said I was micromanaging him and should trust the process. Mr. Ralph then texted me to let me know he was packing up & leaving. He demanded the rest of the $ owed which I had paid 1/2 of what he was charging me up front. Told me the job he was doing cost a lot more than $2,700 yet that was the cost he gave me. He told me if I did not paying him the rest of the $ owed he would not return. I asked him: would you pay for a job you are not happy with? A job that hasn't been completed? No, I didn't pay him & thankfully did not return. I failed to do my research for project. As a first time home owner who moved out of state & needs to sell the home. I trusted someone who told me on many occasions he was professional, experienced and meticulous at his craft. For this I'm paying the price. Please do not make the same mistake. Do not take a contractor's word no matter how nice they seem. No matter how many times they tell you they understand and want to help you. Ask to see proof- which I was never provided. All I received was an invoice for the renovation of kitchen cabinets and painting of my kitchen. I'm glad I listened to my realtor. In less than 24 hours of Mr. Ralph walking out of this project a new certified/experienced/recommended contractor stepped in. He wasn't shocked of the quality/service I received. Unfortunately, he's had to step in to fix jobs like the one I was left with. The new contractor confirmed: All the cabinets and counter top that were initially ordered were measured incorrectly & ALL the materials which were order needed to be returned w/ the exception of the ones already installed- bc those can't be refunded since they've been drilled in. I've lost $ & a lot of time. My home was suppose to be listed already. I lost $1,600: $1,350 ($2,700) was given as a deposit + $250 ($500) for kitchen paint job. I now have to pay extra to get the job done correctly- so basically I got what I paid for . Lesson learned. Do YOUR RESEARCH. No proof of licenses, no contract, no drawings, etc no business/$.

He offered to pay for the damages caused to my Gutter Helmet. This was replaced on 1/29/20 at the cost of $300. I am impressed by the customer service to handle this in a timely manner. I will now recommend Millstream to others for roofing projects, but just be aware that they might use subcontractors. I hope the company they use will learn from their past mistakes.

Fast forward to the Fall season, I see leaves sticking out of my gutters, I checked my gutters and gutter guards were gone. Contacted Millstream, they came and put up mess gutter guards on the house, I asked it they could also do my garage, (I never had gutter guards on the garage) they told me it would cost $500, they tech, Troy, came and did the work, he told me he ran out of pieces and I would need a half a box, I told him if I am paying for an entire box, to leave the remainder at my house. I just go the bill for $500, for a full box! When I called the office, Paula told me they gave him the 13 pieces he needed, so I asked why I was charged $500 for a full box, she had no answer. Lansing carries these mesh Gutter Guards, $350 per box. Also, when you get a new roof, the roofer is supposed to leave remaining roof shingles with you, Millstream did not do that either. Will never recommend this company.

INITIAL DISCUSSIONS (FEB 22, 2024) We asked Keith if…read moreremoving the flooring would speed up the project but eventually kept tile. HandyWorks would demo and install the new tile. We also discussed painting cabinets, eyeing a mid-March start. PRICING & COMMUNICATION (FEB 26-27) We received only a "line item overview," no per-task costs. Repeated requests for a true breakdown were never fulfilled. Sue, the project manager, offered no real help with fixture selection (e.g., she told us to "use the filters" on a website we'd already tried). TIMELINE DISCONNECT (FEB 28) Keith disclosed late that the countertop needed a 10-business-day lead time and that subsequent tasks would push the project to around three weeks--far beyond our hoped-for one-week timeframe. CONTRACT & SCOPE OMISSIONS (MAR 12-21) After I canceled a meeting, Keith declined to email the contract, insisting on another in-person appointment. We finally reviewed it on March 15 but discovered the trashcan insert was omitted. Keith apologized yet still never provided a detailed cost breakdown. TILE PROBLEMS (SPRING 2024-MAY 2025) Several tiles were laid out improperly, and two had extra-wide grout lines. Keith's crew returned weeks later, but he sent a finish carpenter, not a tiler, leaving flaws. They redid those tiles again in May 2025 without Keith supervising. The tiler also used floor leveler to raise part of our century-old floor several inches--without our consent--then tried to charge extra and later failed to remove it from the invoice promptly. COUNTERTOP & BACKSPLASH ISSUES (FEB-MAY 2025) Small items rolled off the countertop's edge. By April, the section over the dishwasher sagged, leaving a gap. Keith finally added a bracket in May, admitting it should have been done initially. For the backsplash, his crew broke the grey-white marble pattern without asking, substituting grey for white near the edge. Keith insisted the white pieces were "too small" to cut, which felt untrue, and he never consulted us. OTHER UNPROFESSIONAL INCIDENTS Keith brought up politics (specifically, Trump) during contract signing, which felt inappropriate. One day, his workers cut quartz with our windows open, blanketing our downstairs in dust, for which he offered $200. A worker also smoked in our backyard after we explicitly said no. FINAL INVOICE & REFUND DISPUTE (SEPT 2024-MAR 2025) Keith apologized for including the unapproved floor-leveler charge on our final bill. We requested about a 10% refund due to recurring problems and incomplete fixes. He verbally agreed in March 2025 but later avoided the subject. We still haven't received any compensation. BBB complaint pending.

We recently experienced a fire in our home. It was an unfortunate circumstance, but thankfully no…read moreone was harmed. What was most disturbing was the swarm of vultures who dove in to try and take advantage of the potential Insurance Money associated with the demolition and rebuild project which lied ahead of us. Thankfully, we did our homework, and did not commit to any of the false promises which most of the initial companies were falsely promising. As business owners ourselves, we had high expectations of the type of quality company we were going to entrust in the work required to work on our home. Through thorough research and interviews, we settled on working with Santoro Home Improvements.... and couldn't be happier with the result! Tony was an excellent communicator. He was honest & fair in his proposals & prompt with his replies. He and his team executed their tasks in a punctual manner, and took it upon themselves to review the job upon completion. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND working with Tony and his Team at Santoro!!

We wanted a contractor in the area of our new dwelling and searched the internet. After several calls we got to Santoro and we had a good feeling immediately. We met with Tony and knew we had the right people for our project. Tony spent time with us and put all our concerns to rest including connecting us to a very capable architect who was equally as nice and kind as Tony. The planning and construction took several months in including Covid but was smooth and orderly. If there were any glitches they were minor and taken care of right away but nothing affecting the big picture. We moved in on New Year's Day 2021 and could not be more satisfied. For us this was a huge undertaking with selling our house, planning where to go next and the move itself. I think Tony realized this and his patience and kindness made this whole thing a lot less stressful than we anticipated. Overall we are all happy and comfortable in our new house and could not be more grateful that we found Tony and Santore Home Improvements. Marie & John G. Hamden,Ct

He was very pleasant and took the time to talk about how and why he would do the repaving and I agreed to all of his terms. He told me he had a few jobs in front of mine and that it would probably be a month before he could start. I called him at the end of June to see when he would start and he told me he was behind because he hurt his hand and that the rainy weather delayed him further. I called him again on the 3rd week of July and he told me his new paving machine had broken down and that he had a big job at a bus company. He promised me he would get to my job in September. I told him I would call at the end of August to get an estimated date. My wife called him the last week of August and he told her he didn't know when he could start because he had a big job at a bus company. It must have been big because he told me that 4 weeks earlier. I called him on the first week of September. We exchanged hellos and pleasantries but when I asked him where my job was on his list, he hung up the phone. Giving him the benefit of the doubt that perhaps it was a dropped call, I called his number several time over the next couple of days and he never answered. Rob Marini is a poor businessman when it comes to customer relations. In fact, he's a coward. Why didn't he just tell me up front that my small 1010 FT2 driveway wasn't enough of a moneymaker for him? Beware of Marini Paving from Watertown!
