Jerk beef and drink.
Jenner B.

I stopped by after the Blue Jays game- Boston game. They were fast, cheap, and delicious. With a crowd of people this was a great place to grab a quick bite on the go. The people were nice and the place was convenient to get in and out of. Lots of seating and open space. I highly recommend

Jerk chicken, rice and beans, plantains

Mouth watering jerk chicken in a warm bed of rice and beans. I highly rec the side of plantains, they are perfectly sweet and crisp. A friend ordered the Mac n cheese side, which was slightly small. Great to-go spot.

Airpod case for size comparison but it's loaded. $14.45

For a container of jerk chicken that seems small it is filling. Quick friendly service. Large accessible space.

Oxtail 18$

I ordered the oxtail with rice and it came with a side. The choices were coleslaw, plantain, fries, or festivals or mac & cheese. I got the mac & cheese, and it was delicious. The oxtail was really tender and juicy as well, though it was very salty overall, it was a really great dish and I would order it again.

They don't call this home of the jerks for nothing. By far one of the best jerk chicken in the city. I was here to pick up food before flying out of Porter and this place is within walking distance which makes for a great option since the food at the airport is limited, bland and over priced. I placed an order via ritual and the order was ready for pickup in a timely manner. I got the small plate and it was still a very generous amount of food. The plate was $12 and for the amount of food you get, it was definitely worth every dollar. You will definitely feel full and satisfied. The chicken is boneless and very juicy. It is well seasoned and for someone who thinks they can tolerate decent amount of spice, it definitely has a kick to it. The dairy in the coleslaw helps. 10/10 will be back!

Great service - friendly and helpful staff, especially for me as it was my first time. Food portion size were great! Food was delicious!

service was nice! it was in a mall so nothing extreme with the ambiance. Food was good just needs a bit more island flavor to it. The Jerk chicken sandwich wasn't spicy.

Home of the Jerk Chicken... However, I have to say this was my least favourite. Their bbq chicken on the other hand is delicious and flavorful. Either in a sandwich or with rice, they portions are generous. During the warmer weather, they have high chairs set up outside with the view of the Cn Tower. Great place for a quick bite with Welcoming Staff

Good quick meals. Newer area (city place). Jerk pork was good, very dry. Would like to try chicken next.

Had Jerk Chicken which comes with Rice & Side Veggies, Jerk Chicken was seasoned so nicely and cooked so perfectly, it was juicy and tender....just as we expected.

Outside, and the music is blasting!

While in Toronto for the first time, I was looking up some local food that was still open, and it turns out there was a Caribbean spot right near by! As I drew near, I could hear the dancehall music bumping. They have a speaker outside, how welcoming!!! So I go in, it smells greaaaaaaat. And as the music still bumps, I decide to go with the basics, I get a jerk chicken platter. My sister was gonna get callaloo, but they were completely out. Thankfully they gave extra veggies and gave her the large size for the price of the small to make up for it. The plantain was made fresh, so it took a while. But it eventually came out, And I dove in! I cut up a piece of jerk chicken first, and it was that HOT kind. I do wish it had more flavor to it, as there was plenty of heat and little else. The rice & peas.... was unfortunately boring. The jerk gravy on top definitely helped, but the rice itself didn't do much for me. No coconut flavor? Come on. The mixed veggies were steamed, not too much flavor with them either, but they were good. Overall, I expected more, given how many Caribbeans I know are in Toronto. On warmer days, though, I could see myself hanging out outside and jamming to their music!

Now I know why Roywoods is the Home of the Jerks (Jerk chicken that is ). Roywoods is serving up some AMAZING Caribbean cuisine with all the favorites such as jerk chicken, curry chicken and oxtail. For both the curry and jerk chicken that I tried the chicken was sooooo tender and moist and you didn't even need to chew it simply melted in your mouth. The jerk chicken had a kick to it and was spicy but hey no pain no gain right? It was hands down my favorite dish. The seasoning was spot on and I could eat this everyday if it was closer! The curry chicken was so saucy just the way I like it and they do not skimp on the portions. Each box was filled to the brim with goodies and everyone was super friendly. Only complaint I have about this location is that there is very limited parking available.

Veggies, Stewed chicken

The food here is very very bland, all of the chicken dishes (jerk, stewed, curry, bbq) all taste pretty much the same, often dry, jerk pork is always dry. Oxtail is also bland. You can choose either cole slaw or veggies with your meal but the veggies are just boiled frozen veggies (see picture). I know that veggies are not a common side in a Jamaican restaurant but just don't offer them if this is how you prepare them. I live near here and once in a blue moon I go here when I don't feel like cooking or traveling further to get decent takeout. I will very likely not go back after this last visit, the food was so off putting.

Jerk chicken is good. Coleslaw has no Flavour. Their homemade hot sauce is great! Service could be more friendly.

After Badiali, this is another hype that is 200% real in Toronto…read more Alfie has drawn enormous buzz, online and off, since last year. The focus is Tuscan-style sandwiches on sourdough flatbread, built with fresh ingredients straight from Naples, and you can absolutely taste Naples in every bite. For Italian sandwiches, it is one of the best in the city, if not the very best. I've visited twice, once earlier this year and once today. The first time I had the Torino ($21), and today the Chicken Milano ($21). Torino Prosciutto di Parma, stracciatella, truffle cream, spicy eggplant, baby arugula. This was my favourite of the two. The stracciatella and truffle cream were generously spread, and the sandwich is massive and hearty. Don't let the size fool you, though: the flavours have the finesse of a fine-dining plate. It was nutty, umami, creamy, with hints of spice and sweetness, the truffle dancing over the salty, buttery, velvety prosciutto, which was cured to perfection. Everything fused into the pillowy, tender sourdough flatbread. I honestly don't know how a sandwich could get better. Chicken Milano Smoked chicken breast, lemon basil pesto, stracciatella, tomato, fried onion, arugula, chili oil. Also amazing. The smoked chicken was tender, never overpowering or too salty, and kept its succulent flavour, which seems to be how Alfie treats all its proteins. The pesto melted into the arugula, adding tang and a slight bitterness, balanced by the spice and umami of the chili oil and tomato. My favourite part was the crispy onion: a wonderful, fun texture. The one flaw was that the chili oil became slightly too spicy by the end for me. I took the rest home, drizzled it with honey, and it was the best thing ever. What makes Alfie special is that you keep thinking about it after a single visit. The flavours linger like a ghostly residue, etched in your memory, and you can't wait to return. Next time, I'm going for the Mona Lisa. The price is on the high side, about $25 after tax and tip for a sandwich, but think of it as two meals and it feels far more reasonable. The wait is always long (it's very busy - the market is small and only allows takeaway), but you usually don't have to queue to order, unlike at Badiali. My tip: order first, grab a coffee or ice cream at a nearby spot, then come back to pick up your sandwich.

This small little bake shop had a menu hanging up, but I completely ignored it thanks to the baked goods right behind the counter that I was too busy staring at. I knew right away that I was going to order a Chocolate Croissant because, well, I always order a Chocolate Croissant if one is available. After making my first choice, this strange little baked good caught my eye, and it turned out to be something called a Cruffin.......a Cruffin you say? What is a cruffin? WELL, let me tell you. The cruffin is basically like a muffin, but like, with cheese and pepperoni on it so obviously I hate to order that sexy little bad boy right away. This thing wasn't big, but it was very dense and basically tasted like pizza crust which was absolutely delicious. After eating the cruffin, the Chocolate Croissant seemed way less cool but I ate it anyway. It tasted good and the chocolate was actually spread across the whole thing so they get an even bigger thumbs up for doing it right. Overall, COBS Bread was the spot! I had no idea this was a chain, but who cares, this place was great. I really liked the Cruffin I got and the croissant was really good as well. I will absolutely be revisiting COBS Bread when I come back to Canada and devouring a few more cruffins while I'm at it!

Here's a cinnamon bun, you know what it is lol. The one thing I'd say that will elevate this from a…read more5 to a 10 is if somehow they can get that glaze at the bottom of the bun to be i side of the bun. The interior is dry while the bottom and top is moist. It's height and width is too high and wide so any attempts to bite (to get that moist sweetness to mask the middle dryness) just guarantees a joker's smile of smeared sugar... so, overall a decent bun, but nothing you'd dream daily about. Want to also add the store is very well organized with their display of goods and the service is professional and efficient.

It blends a traditional Italian deli style with a modern downtown vibe and is known for fresh panini made with quality meats and ingredients, many imported from Italy. We tried their "Il Padrino" and "Capricciosa" panini, and both stood out with crispy fresh bread and a great balance of mortadella, prosciutto, salami, cheese, veggies, and sauces. The combination of fresh bread, curated deli meats, and flavorful sauces gives each sandwich a really nice touch. Besides sandwiches, they also carry Italian-style groceries like pasta, cheeses, desserts, and drinks, which makes the visit feel like a quick trip to a small Italian market. They have a variety of panini style sandwiches with a fridge/freezer of imported items such as frozen meals, meats, dried and spreads, sauces, cake slices and gelato! All the sandwiches sound delicious! Hard to choose! I went with the Alla Romana $16 (Prosciutto from Abruzzo Italy, Semi-dried cherry tomatoes, Balsamic glaze, Fior di Latte). The bread was crusty & warm - all quality ingredients!! The prosciutto & other topping were plentiful. Great flavours. Fresh! You can tell it was made with care. I was surprised at how big the sandwich was. It was cut in two & placed in a take away container which travelled well. The sandwich was still intact and perfect when I got home. The bread has a good crust but was soft inside to be a good compliment for the filling! I did get a piece of tiramisu & a small single serve cup of gelato from the fridge/freezer to be tried later!! I am a big fan of sandwiches with quality great & quality filling and this checks off the boxes. Staff was friendly and the sandwich is a good value given the top quality ingredients. Looking for a Sandwich place that is different, cutting edge and makes your taste buds melt? Well…read morethis is not your place! I'm going to continue with my overtime take out review series with Sandwich Box. You would think making a sandwich is probably not the most complicated task out there, but this place seems to get it all wrong. My order consisted of an egg salad sandwich on whole grain bread with a side salad. When I received it, I only got the sandwich and the restaurant failed to tell me the salad was no longer included in the combo (yet the price remained the same). That's great that the online menu was not updated to include items no longer available, a simple update would address all these problems knowmsayin? Now on to the actual sandwich, the bread was thick. I mean so thick it looked like there was about a half an inch of eggs inside of two encyclopedias worth of bread. The eggs themselves, totally flavorless and bland. Kinda hard to mess up an egg salad sandwich right? Even Tim Horton's can get that right! To make things short and sweet, I'll be looking over this option the next time I'm working late or considering a sandwich in the downtown area.

I agree that the price for a sandwich plus side salad is quite pricey ($13 including tax) but I like the fact that everything tastes fresh and light, and you have alot of options to customize your sandwich in a healthy way. I ordered the rosemary focaccia with chicken breast, arugula, avocado and chipotle spread plus their usual sprinkle of salt, pepper and squeeze of lime. It's like a gourmet sandwich - the bread was thick, soft with hints of rosemary and yummy. The salad was mostly arugula with carrots- this was very lightly seasoned but at least I won't be hit with itis going back to work! Definitely would come again, although not regularly since it's kinda pricey.
