As a disclaimer, I would like to start by saying that I did book the Viento Suite. Due to having a suite, we had butlers Romero and Isaías, and they were both AMAZING. They were extremely attentive, and whatever we needed was never an issue. If we asked for something, it was done quickly and without hesitation. You honestly couldn't ask for better service. We also had access to the Aqua Club, which was open from 7 AM-10 PM and offered premium liquor along with light snacks for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The waiters there--Daniel, Guillermo, and Eduardo--were great! They were even willing to make us our favorite shots that they had never heard of (blowjobs... Google it ), but they made them anyway! The lounge itself is super relaxing, with spectacular ocean views from the 5th floor. Now, onto the part we ALL care about the most: THE FOOD! There are several restaurants on the property to choose from, but our absolute favorite was Hidden Garden, which is Asian-inspired and run by Chef Mario. Everything we ordered was spectacular! Chef Mario even came out to our table, greeted us personally, and provided us with a menu curated by him--which I'm assuming was because it was my birthday... lol. They also have one paid restaurant called Carnivore, which is a steakhouse. Now, I am a self-proclaimed steakhouse snob, so I have to keep it real: for the price, it was mid. But for a resort steakhouse, it was good. The rest of the food throughout the resort was WAAYYYY better than expected--even the poolside grill and the food you can order directly to your cabana. Everything was well-seasoned and cooked to perfection. The ribs they made at the poolside grill every day were FANTASTIC! The head of culinary at the resort, Mr. Germain, is definitely doing what needs to be done because the food was consistently impressive throughout the property. Now, the second-most important thing for most people: NIGHTLIFE. Personally, I came to relax, and the overall vibe of the resort definitely gives relaxation. However, they do have a nightclub called Egos, which stays open until 1 AM. I went once, but it wasn't really my music or my vibe. If you're looking for more of a nightlife scene, I would suggest heading into the city. BUTTTT... if you love a good pool party, make sure you hit the Moët Pool Party because BABYYYYYY... it was LIT! We booked a club-level oceanfront room, which included butler service. Our butler, Arturo, absolutely came through for us. He handled our restaurant and cabana reservations ahead of time and was instrumental in securing a late check-out on our final day. The dining at this all-inclusive is superb. For breakfast, Siete offers a decent buffet, and our waiter, Helvert, was incredibly kind and always took the time to chat with us. For dinner, DB was our top choice for elegant continental dining, complete with a live pianist. The manager, Susana, provided excellent service, the food was delicious, and the chef even came out to greet us. We also loved Hidden Gardens, a relaxed Asian-fusion spot with tasty food, impeccable service, and another welcome visit from the chef. During the sweltering day, the pool is the main draw. Lalo was always helpful in securing our requested cabana. They cost an extra $115 each time, but they are completely worth it to escape the intense sun. Our pool waitress, Marysol, befriended us and knew exactly what non-alcoholic drinks to bring us. My wife is a big coffee drinker, so we frequently stopped by the included Starbucks, where David the barista gave excellent service and loved chatting with me about World Cup soccer. Also, a big shoutout goes out to Lady and Daisy at the spa. They gave my wife and I heavenly massages. However, the absolute heart of the entire hotel is Marco, the extraordinary juicer at Siete! In some guest hallways and rooms, you are hit with a strong MILDEW / MOLD smell the second you walk in, which was an instant red flag and made it hard to appreciate anything else. We had to switch rooms after the first night from the smell which gave me a headache. We also noticed condensation leaking from the AC, broken furniture, cracks in the walls, etc. Now the best part was probably the beautiful beachfront location, large pool facility and getting to see the oceanfront view. *FOOD* If you want to eat dinner at the themed restaurants (Hibachi, Italian, Steakhouse, Seafood), you have to reserve a time slot on their app. The app was quite glitchy. The food had its moments, but overall, it felt like the chefs were playing a game of culinary roulette. Some dishes were good enough to make me hopeful, while others made me question every life choice that led me to that buffet tray. I would say the best spot was the pizzeria, it was fresh, though pies were gone in seconds once they came out from the oven. *SERVICE* Upon instantly checking in, you feel like you are herded like cattle by being passed onto their concierge that tries to sneak in a timeshare presentation. Was full inclusive so we ate a ton and drank a lot! The pools were beautiful and lots of options having 4. From Tuesday to Thursday it was so easy to get a spot at the pool or beach, would show up at 11am and find a two chairs and umbrella no problem. Friday/Saturday it was a bit harder since it's the weekend so the pool area was packed by 1pm but went to the beach and again found two spots with umbrella no problem. Beach was solid for hotel zone, this area of Cancun is known for having bad seaweed but the resort did its best to keep it cleaned up. Was able to get in the water some days and not see the seaweed everywhere. We did a preferred booking so got room on a higher floor, exclusive quick check in, access to roof top pool and restaurant. So if you don't care about those things just do a regular room but the upstairs pool was incredible. This place is definitely a relaxing resort, not a ton to do at night but that's what we wanted for our honeymoon. Pool can be somewhat lively during the day with music, and performances but at night it's just casual bars, restaurants and what not. Everything dies down before 12. Did a spa day too and it was great, had a couples massage, full body scrub, and hydrotherapy circuit for two that costs $398. I recommend booking it when you arrive as they may have deals. It was a great experience overall, we would for sure come back 100%!!! Every single worker there was so nice and helpful. Did not have a single bad experience with anyone that worked there.

The mini fridge was packed with water bottles, pop, and beer. I had a balcony that overlooked the pool and ocean, which I loved. Staff are very nice. Band/singer that plays before the show were great. Food was good. Good selection of food options. Good selection of restaurant options. Each restaurant posts a menu (in multiple languages) for the day's meals. Buffet over looks ocean. Neutral/meh: this hotel loves their parties. Every day there's a different theme. Busses take people to the RIU Caribe. There is a discotech that opens after the evening's show. Restaurants work on a beeper system since they do not take reservations. Alcoholic drinks can be strong. Evening shows were OK some nights. Cons: when we checked in, my room was not ready. They told me that they woukd email me when it was ready (did not receive). Did eventually get my room. While they had activities (listed on app), not all of them were played/hard to find. If it's super windy out, the elevators don't go pass floor 2 in the small building. You have to use the stairs. We came on a windy day and one of the workers allowed us to use the service elevator because we didn't want to lug our luggage up to the 3rd floor. Can hear your neighbors upstairs and can hear people out in the hall. Overall, we had a great time!

A Beautiful 8-Year Anniversary Celebration at Hotel Riu Palace Kukulkan!…read more On September 3, 2026, my hubby and I flew to Cancun, Mexico, to celebrate our 8-year wedding anniversary, and we stayed at Hotel Riu Palace Kukulkan in Cancun from September 3rd through September 6th. We booked an Elite Junior Suite Ocean Front View for two adults, all-inclusive, through a JetBlue Vacations package that we booked months in advance. Our package also included transportation from the airport to the hotel, which made everything so convenient. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed. The hotel lobby was beautiful, and during check-in we were welcomed with champagne. It immediately put us in vacation mode! Once we completed check-in, we received our key card for the Elite Floor and headed to our room. Our room was absolutely beautiful, and the oceanfront balcony view was breathtaking! Waking up in the morning and watching the ocean, and then seeing the sunset in the evening, was simply spectacular. We made sure to explore the property and enjoy everything the resort had to offer. We spent time at the beach, infinity pool, pool activities, Elite Club and pool restaurant, Pepe's Food, and of course enjoyed plenty of drinks. One of the highlights of our trip was our Tulum excursion, where we visited the Mayan ruins and learned about the history and culture. After the ruins, we enjoyed tequila tasting and then continued to a cenote, where we explored the beautiful natural water and hidden caves. This was an amazing experience and definitely something I would recommend doing while visiting Cancun! The resort also had several dining options, including Don Julio, the main buffet restaurant, Rossini, Krystal, the Steakhouse, the Cafeteria for cappuccino, and the Lobby Bar Salon. We enjoyed having so many choices throughout our stay. I also want to recognize the hotel staff. They were friendly, kind, respectful and always willing to help. Whether we needed directions, information about the resort, or simply wanted someone to take our picture, the staff was always ready to assist. I really appreciated how they would stop and make sure guests were having a wonderful experience. My only suggestion would be to add more adult entertainment in the evenings. There wasn't really a disco or dedicated dancing area, and I would have loved more live entertainment where adults could dance and enjoy the night. For me, the resort was almost too relaxing! I definitely needed a little more music and dancing. But overall, we had a wonderful anniversary experience! We relaxed, enjoyed the beautiful resort, spent time by the ocean and pool, explored Tulum, enjoyed great food and drinks, and celebrated eight years of marriage in a beautiful place. They were clean and I had no reaction after. Pools that are not properly maintained give my skin the itchies after. I did love the buffet, but let's be honest, that's probably because all I ate was avocado, fruit, eggs, and bacon anyway, lol. So that part worked in my favor. The Italian spot had good apps. I almost lost it about my clothes, but they handled it well and I appreciated that. I do wonder if the floor that we stayed on was an older floor we were on the fifth floor in rooms 545, 547 and 548. So I wonder if rooms on that floor were in worse condition than some of the other others they seem to have not been slept in for a while because when I cleaned there were lots of dust as if no one had been in there for a while . The beach was great and very almost private. The vendors weren't too pushy and they had decent pricing. Dollars go further...don't exchange to Mexican pesos!

The turquoise Caribbean water, soft sand, and ocean views make it easy to relax and forget about everything for a while. I really enjoyed sitting near the water and listening to the waves while feeling the sea breeze. It has that beautiful Caribbean atmosphere that makes you want to stay a little longer. The sunset was also gorgeous and made the experience even more special. A great place for a relaxing walk, some photos, swimming, or simply enjoying the ocean. They were kind, attentive, and genuinely made our stay more enjoyable. Without them, this would have been a one-star review. The resort lures you in with the promise of an all-inclusive vacation, but the reality was incredibly disappointing. The food was some of the most unappetizing I've ever seen at a resort. Very little looked fresh or appetizing, and dining quickly became something we dreaded rather than enjoyed. The property itself is very dated. The rooms, common areas, and grounds all show significant wear, and many areas felt dirty or in need of repair. We even had cockroaches in our room. Air conditioning was either weak or nonexistent in many parts of the resort, making it uncomfortable to escape the heat. One thing they don't make clear when booking is that there are different resort access levels based on your wristband color. We had blue bracelets, while guests with black bracelets had access to noticeably nicer amenities and areas. It leaves standard guests feeling like second-class visitors. Cleanliness was another major issue. Guests frequently left trash around the property, and we were disturbed to learn on our last day that reusable cups were being rinsed in a brown sanitizing solution before being handed back out. If you stay here, bring your own insulated cup. My husband and I both came home sick with bad colds, and while I can't say what caused it, seeing the cup sanitation process certainly didn't inspire confidence. Another disappointment was the atmosphere. All of the pool bars closed by 6:00 p.m., and by around 11:00 p.m. the resort felt completely dead. Aside from the spring break crowd, there wasn't much energy or entertainment. Overall, this resort feels like it's surviving on its spring break reputation rather than investing in the guest experience. Between the poor food, outdated facilities, cleanliness concerns, uncomfortable rooms, and confusing tiered access system, I would never recommend Grand Oasis Cancún. Save your money and book elsewhere
