Pros; Great location, cool memorabilia and shows …read more staff very friendly , awesome fish tacos and Asian cuisine good . Cons : Management doesn't seem to care . Food although most was tasty was way too Salty , extremely salty ( all restaurants), Toro restaurant food was cold , server also forgot our salads . 2 days in the hotel ran out of Sauvignon blanc wine! 5 days later still none( so much for all inclusive) Could go on about little things like ran out of coffee cup lids etc. but rant over . To many other good choices if they don't care .

Hard Rock Cancun feels more like a faded backstage pass. *AMBIANCE* The hotel is noticeably dated--worn furniture, tired decor, and not well kept. In some guest hallways and rooms, you are hit with a strong MILDEW / MOLD smell the second you walk in, which was an instant red flag and made it hard to appreciate anything else. We had to switch rooms after the first night from the smell which gave me a headache. We also noticed condensation leaking from the AC, broken furniture, cracks in the walls, etc. Now the best part was probably the beautiful beachfront location, large pool facility and getting to see the oceanfront view. *FOOD* If you want to eat dinner at the themed restaurants (Hibachi, Italian, Steakhouse, Seafood), you have to reserve a time slot on their app. The app was quite glitchy. The food had its moments, but overall, it felt like the chefs were playing a game of culinary roulette. Some dishes were good enough to make me hopeful, while others made me question every life choice that led me to that buffet tray. I would say the best spot was the pizzeria, it was fresh, though pies were gone in seconds once they came out from the oven. *SERVICE* Upon instantly checking in, you feel like you are herded like cattle by being passed onto their concierge that tries to sneak in a timeshare presentation. That said, service at this hotel felt more reactive than proactive. Overall, for a 5-star hotel, it certainly felt a lot lower than that. If you're looking for a clean stay with 5-star service, I'd probably look elsewhere.

The spa was fantastic, offering step-by-step guidance through the dry sauna, steam room, and both warm and cool pools-such a relaxing and rejuvenating experience. The hotel sits right on the beach with breathtaking views and features several pools, including one with a fun swim-up bar. Dining options were excellent, with several restaurants to choose from, including Mediterranean, Mexican, buffet, Asian, sushi, steakhouse, and American cuisine. Our room was fantastic, with a rainfall shower, comfortable beds, prompt housekeeping, 24-hour room service, and turn-down service. We also enjoyed live entertainment and a night club on the property, yet it remained wonderfully quiet when we wanted to relax. We loved the aromatherapy --it was such a thoughtful touch. The location is very convenient: close to a pharmacy, just across the street from a shopping mall with a mix of upscale and casual dining and shops, and only 10-15 minutes from Cancun's vibrant club zone. We couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Our luggage was immediately checked in and we were able to check in even arriving early around 11 am. Our particular room was ready and we checked and our luggage was promptly dropped off. We stayed in an oceanfront room which had a beautiful view with a seating area inside and on the balcony. The room and bathroom were very clean and well stocked. I like the aromatherapy touch in the resort and in our rooms being able to choose which scent you wanted was very nice. I loved the separation of the toilet and shower by a wall and doors for privacy when using either. The water pressure and water temperature in the shower was great although there was some water draining from the shower during use. We would generally put a foot towel down to contain the water. The room was serviced twice daily so we were never without towels, etc. I also utilized the laundry service which was reasonably priced for three pieces of clothing and it was returned the next day. The staff was generally very courteous and helpful (we only had one less than courteous experience with a waiter at the Hidden Garden on our last evening). The food at the restaurants and by the beach and pool area was great - I cannot say enough about the fresh fruit and the grilled ribs and chicken so well seasoned and cooked with flavor. We ate daily in Siete for breakfast (the smoothie station you will need to go to first because it fills up because the smoothies are sooo good). We also dined at Hidden Garden where I enjoyed Indian cuisine which was delicious (but a small portion). All inclusive so it was nice not having to continually carry payment and only the gratuity needed for the staff. The last two mornings of our stay there appeared to be construction in the room next door or our floor which was disturbing - we did alert the front desk staff and it would generally stop around a certain time. Getting beds and chairs at the beach was generally easy but for the pool it was the hunger games usually having to place towels or bags on chairs early to 'reserve' them (there are no reservations for chairs only for the larger cabanas for an additional fee) We also experienced the spa which was amazing. Highly recommend visiting during your stay. The spa ritual is so relaxing and the couples massage in a combined room was great. Would definitely stay again. $$$

I have nothing but good things to say about this place for a all inclusive, ADULTS ONLY resort. The resort it self was clean, modern and flawless. The service and people working there was top notch, everyone made us feel like royalty. The food was so good, obviously some spots weren't perfect but 90% of the time we LOVED what we ate. Was full inclusive so we ate a ton and drank a lot! The pools were beautiful and lots of options having 4. From Tuesday to Thursday it was so easy to get a spot at the pool or beach, would show up at 11am and find a two chairs and umbrella no problem. Friday/Saturday it was a bit harder since it's the weekend so the pool area was packed by 1pm but went to the beach and again found two spots with umbrella no problem. Beach was solid for hotel zone, this area of Cancun is known for having bad seaweed but the resort did its best to keep it cleaned up. Was able to get in the water some days and not see the seaweed everywhere. We did a preferred booking so got room on a higher floor, exclusive quick check in, access to roof top pool and restaurant. So if you don't care about those things just do a regular room but the upstairs pool was incredible. This place is definitely a relaxing resort, not a ton to do at night but that's what we wanted for our honeymoon. Pool can be somewhat lively during the day with music, and performances but at night it's just casual bars, restaurants and what not. Everything dies down before 12. Did a spa day too and it was great, had a couples massage, full body scrub, and hydrotherapy circuit for two that costs $398. I recommend booking it when you arrive as they may have deals. It was a great experience overall, we would for sure come back 100%!!! Every single worker there was so nice and helpful. Did not have a single bad experience with anyone that worked there.

Great breakfast and lunch buffets. I wish the food was a little better at the restaurants but it got the job done. No reservations needed unlike some of the other all-inclusive hotels. Excellent service the entire stay. Great beach access. Get out to the pool/beach early if you want to reserve a chair for the day. If not, people leave around lunch time and you can snag their chair. Located in the hotel zone of Cancun so it only took maybe 15 minutes to get there from the airport. Gated resort with an attendant. We never felt unsafe and even ventured off of the property to check out the shops across the street. I would highly recommend this resort!

The overall location is fantastic, and the views are absolutely stunning. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is the restaurant situation. Room condition: The moment we entered, I noticed mold on the floor, which is completely unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one advertised as all-inclusive in Cancún. The room felt dirty and outdated, and I honestly didn't want to touch anything on the floor. Sharing a small bed with my sister made the night even more miserable, and the furniture barely felt usable. Cleanliness: Absolutely terrible. Not only was there mold, but the general vibe of the hotel made it feel uncared for. I wouldn't trust anything in the room that might touch my skin or clothes. Environment: Outside the room, there were ants crawling everywhere, which is gross and completely avoidable. The hotel clearly doesn't maintain its property properly. Food & Amenities: The food was honestly mid at best--nothing to write home about. Limited options, bland taste, and completely underwhelming for a resort that calls itself all-inclusive. After seeing the room and the unsanitary conditions, I honestly didn't even bother trying much. Overall experience: This place is not worth your money. One night here feels like a lifetime of discomfort. If you're expecting a clean, comfortable, all-inclusive resort, stay far away. The beach might be okay, but that's not enough to make up for moldy floors, tiny beds, mid-tier food, and ant infestations. Rating: 1/5 stars--maybe even 0 if Yelp allowed it. This hotel deserves the low reviews it gets. I can't stress enough: don't stay here unless you want to ruin your vacation. Update: This place somehow got even worse overnight. People were blasting random music at full volume outside until 1 AM, and the hotel did absolutely nothing--no control, no quiet hours, nothing. Sleeping here was basically impossible. On top of that, the bedsheets were so bad they made my skin irritation significantly worse, and I woke up in actual pain. Between the noise, disgusting conditions, and zero management, this was easily one of the worst nights I've ever had anywhere. Avoid this place at all costs.

They are constantly cleaning the resort and are more than helpful with anything you ever need. There is a 24 hour bar that also has sandwiches, fruit, nachos, and other things to eat anytime you are hungry. We loved this bar and loved the bartenders the best! The only reason I gave it a four instead of a five is, I feel like it needs some of its own activities amped up. The only activities we really had here were simple little ones at the pool or at the area where people can sit at a theater type place. We stayed in the small building this time. There's also two ocean sides: rocky (near beach volleyball is played and good for collecting shells) and non-rocky side (water is clear and great for body surfing). There is a spa and gym on-site. Multiple pools and bars. Pros: Gorgeous ocean views. Great hotel layout with lots of palm trees. Very clean. Rooms were spacious. Bed was comfy. The mini fridge was packed with water bottles, pop, and beer. I had a balcony that overlooked the pool and ocean, which I loved. Staff are very nice. Band/singer that plays before the show were great. Food was good. Good selection of food options. Good selection of restaurant options. Each restaurant posts a menu (in multiple languages) for the day's meals. Buffet over looks ocean. Neutral/meh: this hotel loves their parties. Every day there's a different theme. Busses take people to the RIU Caribe. There is a discotech that opens after the evening's show. Restaurants work on a beeper system since they do not take reservations. Alcoholic drinks can be strong. Evening shows were OK some nights. Cons: when we checked in, my room was not ready. They told me that they woukd email me when it was ready (did not receive). Did eventually get my room. While they had activities (listed on app), not all of them were played/hard to find. If it's super windy out, the elevators don't go pass floor 2 in the small building. You have to use the stairs. We came on a windy day and one of the workers allowed us to use the service elevator because we didn't want to lug our luggage up to the 3rd floor. Can hear your neighbors upstairs and can hear people out in the hall. Overall, we had a great time!

We were very rudely awakened at 10 pm by the general manager of the hotel 1st by calling our room on the very loud phone. When we didn't answer they came knocking on our door and ringing the doorbell at 10 pm for a matter that could have been worked out the next morning at check out. Our reservation clearly states we checked in with a baby & even so when we complained to the concierge he said it is their policy not to disturb guests after 9 pm. Even after admitting they violated their own policy and woke up our baby they did absolutely nothing for us except offer some cheap "gifts" we didn't want. The manager didn't even come out to apologize for their wrong doing. Also would like to mention they "upgraded" our room to be right next to where they are doing construction to a nearby room. Loud banging was heard even at 9 pm. Unbelievable again knowing that we were checking in with a baby. We are not ones to complain or write reviews but do not stay here. There are plenty of other nice resorts in the area.

If you're not looking to do a ton of walking and prefer a more intimate, relaxed atmosphere, this resort fits that vibe well. The food was okay overall. The standout was definitely the Japanese restaurant with hibachi, which was one of the best dining experiences during the stay. The buffets were hit or miss, depending on timing and selection. However, there's a restaurant to the right of the pool, outside, that was consistently decent we enjoyed it enough to go back more than once. Customer service was a bright spot. Lorenzo at the Italian restaurant was extremely friendly and provided excellent service. Francy at Bar One deserves special recognition hands down one of the best bartenders I've come across in a long time. That said, the entertainment was underwhelming. Both the shows and the spaces where entertainment was hosted felt subpar, and I was honestly expecting more. Unfortunately, the main reason I could not rate this resort higher was due to a bed bug issue. I returned home and noticed inflamed bites on my arms, which appeared the very next day. That experience alone prevented me from giving this resort a 4 or 5, regardless of the positives. On a positive note, the guests were very friendly, just as welcoming as the hotel staff, and that truly helped make parts of the trip enjoyable. Final thoughts: Sandos Cancun may work well for travelers seeking a quieter, smaller resort with friendly service but due to cleanliness concerns, I'd recommend proceeding with caution.

If you're looking for a TRUE and HONEST review, keep reading…read more DO NOT COME HERE If you're looking for a relaxing, luxury all-inclusive resort, go elsewhere. This hotel is wildly overpriced for what it offers and is completely inappropriate for families. The entertainment is heavily sexualized--Playboy-style shows, devils, pole dancing, half-naked performers, and explicit themes almost nightly. Hallways (notably the 3rd and 5th floors) are lined with very sexual photos of men and women in lingerie or nude poses. We traveled with our very religious parents, and nowhere on the website does it disclose that this is essentially a sexual, adult-only experience. I've stayed at adult-only resorts before--this was on a completely different level and extremely uncomfortable. Watching these shows with parents was awkward and embarrassing. RESORT & ROOMS -- 1 STAR The resort itself is dated, small, and underwhelming. The front entrance is far from grand--very disappointing considering the price point. There are only two tiny elevators for the entire resort, with no airflow, long waits, and constant crowding. I stayed on the 4th floor and one elevator button didn't work properly, so it often skipped my floor for the entire week. Stairs were either inaccessible or nonexistent--I never once saw them. The rooms are run-down, dirty, and poorly maintained: * Sink didn't work * Shower full of patchwork repairs * Balcony felt unsafe--other balconies looked like they could crumble * Paid for an ocean view, got a view of an abandoned hotel Overall, the hotel felt sleazy, comparable to a low-end Las Vegas showgirl hotel. We all felt uncomfortable walking around. The atmosphere felt more suited for swingers or older men looking for "entertainment," not couples or families. FOOD -- 1 STAR The food was one of the biggest disappointments. Buffet: Small selection, repetitive, and frankly disgusting. It's the only breakfast option unless you pay for "Elite" status. Same food every day. I genuinely feel like I lost weight because nothing was appealing, and several items made me feel sick. Restaurants: Many were closed often, and we couldn't even eat at one because it was never open during our stay. Italian Restaurant: Good service, no reservation needed. Food tasted okay but everything was lukewarm. Other guests confirmed the same issue. Portions were very small. Teppanyaki: Good meal and entertaining show. Reservations required and fill quickly. Food tasted good, but the chef used the same utensils for raw chicken and beef and then served cooked food with them--a serious food safety issue. Fried ice cream was great. Skip the other dessert. St. Topez: The ONLY consistently good food on the entire resort. Opens at noon and available to everyone. Pizza, wings, burgers, tacos, guac--basic bar food, but good. We practically lived here because everything else was terrible. Room Service: 24/7, but poorly executed. Online ordering doesn't work despite advertising that it does. You must call. Late-night food took about an hour, arrived cold, and wasn't good. ENTERTAINMENT Some shows were genuinely impressive--NYE and Masquerade stood out. However, the scheduling was chaotic and unorganized. The app, TV screens, and concierge often gave conflicting information. Pool parties were especially awkward: half-naked dancers performing to rave music while guests just tried to relax. Most older couples looked confused or uncomfortable--this was clearly not what they thought they booked. The entertainment staff tried their best, but the vibe was completely mismatched. POOLS & BEACH * Pools: Three pools, but freezing cold. No swim-up bar, no hot tub. I swam once and couldn't stay in. * Beach: Beautiful, no seaweed. Chairs and cabanas are limited and require early towel reservations. Beach cabanas are for Elite guests only unless you settle for older, falling-apart ones. GYM Large but poorly maintained. Only two treadmills (one broken), all ellipticals broken, and many machines outdated. REVIEWS ARE MISLEADING Every single guest we spoke to was extremely disappointed. The reason this hotel has inflated reviews is because staff actively pressure guests to leave 5-star reviews by scanning QR codes while standing over you--often when you're drinking. This happened to me multiple times. This is my real, honest review, as requested. FINAL SUMMARY This resort felt like a sleazy Las Vegas hotel, not a luxury all-inclusive. We spent over $17,000 and had to "come to terms" with our booking just to survive the week. That should never happen at this price point. Do your research. Read the bad reviews. And book elsewhere.
