The gave us happy hour drinks daily. We spent the majority of the time at the pool, it had ample seating area, full towel service, and the bar had good bar eats. The housekeeping could use some help. One day we walked in our room and couldn't tell that it had been cleaned aside from making the bed. However, when we requested towels they came immediately. We needed a band aid and had to have security come. I thought that was thorough but the security guy was not very friendly. The bathrooms could use some updating but it did the job. Very great access to the beach. Was decent for traveling with family.

The process was not easy since my Japanese reading and writing is at an elementary level. I called the consulate first to ask what documents were needed and I found out that I needed to bring my original "Koseki Tohon" or family registry, my husband and I's passport, marriage certificate and my son's birth certificate. I flew from Big Island to bring all of these documents to find out that I needed to fill out a lengthy application all in Japanese so it took me two visits to complete this. I brought my Japanese friend who assisted me in filling out the application in Japanese which is allowed but they will have them sign a document acknowledging that they assisted. I highly recommend bringing a Japanese native to help you get through this process faster! After submiting the paperwork, the lady at the counter took 30 minutes or so to go over everything and she ended up marking all of my mistakes in red ink for me to correct. Although this process was a pain, they were kind enough to tell me exactly what I needed to write and allowed me to take my time in making my corrections in the waiting room. This process would have been so much easier and faster if they had this application online but I can't fault the consulate on this. Japan is still very old school and prefer everything to be submited in writing. Things to keep in mind is that they close for lunch between 11:30am - 1:00pm and their parking lot is small but I never had an issue with finding a stall since they are not that busy.

I was also asked several questions that appeared to be unrelated to the actual procedure I was trying to complete. It was not only unnecessary, but the way the questions were asked made the interaction feel intrusive and very uncomfortable. I was not asking for any special treatment. I simply wanted clear information about the procedure and what I needed to do next. Unfortunately, I did not feel that the staff member was genuinely interested in helping me. Instead, I left feeling as though I had done something wrong just by asking for assistance. I understand that there are rules and procedures that must be followed, but there is no reason why they cannot be explained in a professional and respectful manner. I sincerely hope the Consulate will consider improving the way staff communicate with people who come to them for assistance. People seeking help with an official procedure should be given clear information and treated with basic courtesy and respect. There was a leaking bathroom faucet, a chipped sink, rust and water damage around the bathroom door, dark buildup around the shower fixture, heavily stained blackout curtains, visible dust and debris under the bed and dark spotting inside the bathroom vanity where clean towels were stored. The room also had numerous scuffs, patched walls and signs of deferred maintenance throughout. The location and staff saved the stay, but the condition of the room fell well below the standard I'd expect from this brand, especially at this price point.

However, Ambrose said he'd see what he could do and was able to get my boyfriend and I a room early. We've been to Oahu several times but this was our first time staying at Outrigger. Our room was awesome (clean and spacious with a lot of closet and cabinet space) and the balcony came with a pretty good view. It was nice to have some poke and beers on there. You can even cast shows from your phone onto the TV which I appreciated. Location is so convenient and walkable to a lot of restaurants and shopping places and the beach. Yes it is super touristy but that's Waikiki for you. Although we only stayed for one night (on our way to Japan), I appreciated seeing all the activities that Outrigger offers on the schedule that they provide for you at check-in. A restaurant called Monkeypod is conveniently located within the building and they have the best maitais. It's super helpful that an ABC store is also located within the vicinity to grab snacks, drinks, and some souvenirs. Overall the place is really nice and the staff is so welcoming and kind. Would definitely love to stay here again!

The toilet in the 2nd bathroom would get stuck while flushing and they hadn't refilled the body wash. * there are only 3 elevators for the whole tower, and no service or freight elevators for staff. One elevator was closed the whole time we were there (a bell desk employee said it had been down for 3 months waiting for a part), Anton the day we checked out a 2nd elevators went out of service, leaving one elevator for all 20+ floors full of people trying to get down to the lobby to check out. We waited 50 minutes for an elevator, and that only happened when someone finally alerted the staff and someone manually directed the elevator to each floor one by one. Total disaster. * we moved to the Rainbow Tower for our last night. Beautiful view of the beach. However, you have to wait in line at the front desk to get wristbands and towel cards for the pool, then go to another line to get towels, turn the towels back in to get the cards back or you get charged for the towels. And there's no consistency: one person would give us 2 towels per card, but when I returned them a different employee would give us back 1 card per towel. * even though the rainbow tower has 5 elevators and they are 'smart' elevators that go to specific floors we had to wait 15 minutes on check out day to get an elevator that wasn't full. * On the plus side, the bell desk staff are amazing. Extra thanks to Chad for coming to get our bags from the room and then being stuck for an hour waiting for an elevator. Bottom line: their elevator situation is questionable and probably dangerous. If you stay here, be prepared to test your patience and wait in lines A LOT.

The walls had newer paint, everything was clean, and the towels were fresh. The biggest surprise, though? THE BED. I was not expecting it to be that soft and comfortable! I slept so well. Is it the fanciest hotel in Waikiki? No. But if you want somewhere clean, comfortable, safe, affordable, and easy to stay at without paying luxury-resort prices, this absolutely did the job. Check In is 3 PM and Check Out is 11 AM & we checked in a tad later maybe around 5-5:30 PM. Overall, I shared 2 nights with a friend and we were able to split the payment between our 2 cards thanks to the Front Desk. I paid probably $221 for my share of the 2 nights which was pretty reasonable for Hawaii. They gave us a $5 credit for drinks/snacks at The Market (which we didn't have time to take advantage of) and a small Hilton bag with 2 bottles of water. The room was surprisingly pretty spacious for the Double Queen Beds, a TV, mini fridge, desk station, comfy couch, and closet. I'm usually one not to sleep well in hotels but I was exhausted from my first Oahu day and slept real good for the 2 nights! It wasn't extremely cold too, it felt like a nice 72-73 degrees. The Breakfast Bar (aka buffet) was included and opens at 6:30 AM and ends 9:30 AM Monday-Friday and at 10 AM on Saturday and Sunday. It was located on the 3rd floor where the pool is located and quite windy. There was a good selection of cereal, toast, bagels, oatmeal, yogurt, pineapple, granola, hot food station (which had Scrambled Eggs, Portuguese Sausage, Pork Link Sausage, House Potatoes, Waffles, etc.) and my absolute favorite, hot rice and Miso Soup! There was Apple and Orange Juice and a nice selection of Hot Tea and Coffee which you can take to go as well. Downside was parking was $62+/overnight. My friend found a parking structure nearby of walking distance which charged only $45/night so we saved a bit especially with renting a Tesla (the closest Tesla Supercharging Station would be the International Market Place-Target Parking Structure on the 4th floor on the left FYI). Overall the Hyatt was welcoming but because it was summer, prepare for lots of families and some wait time with elevators. My husband and I had our two young kids so I asked the front desk if they could bring a cot for the kids. We really enjoyed the pool deck, the pool is great sized and shallow, it's 4 feet throughout. They have a small jacuzzi. There's a bar that serves food but closes at sunset. My kids loved the mini golf!! It is a legit course. There was also a large connect 4 game. And the fire pits were so nice at night. We watched the Magic show in the hotel which was excellent! We checked out the bar Casamigos on the 37th floor for a drink and it was cool, with live music. Hotel location is great, lots of shopping and restaurants and beach within 5 minutes from hotel. We would totally stay here again.

They agents don't know how to spell. The typos are with his email and his name. Vazquez. How difficult is that? He's literally spelled it out phonetically. So frustrating and unprofessional. Correction: 4th attendant still made the same mistake. Spelled his name Dazquez rather than Vazquez. Even though his full name is in his email (which they sent the confirmation email to) and he's spelled it out about 3-4 times/phone conversation. This is how Hilton Waikiki treats their veterans.

Things that were okay: Cleaners only came once out of the 5 days we were there. They have a schedule they set for cleaners to come. The walk to Waikiki beach is like a 20 min walk. Filter water station available in the lobby for your water bottle. There's also luggage holding available which is nice for late flights. Parking was expensive. They were doing renovations so they said there may not be parking available for everyone in the garage. So if you paid for the day ($40) of you came back you were guaranteed a spot. There's cheaper parking in the area especially around the harbor area. I'd recommend another parking spot if renting a vehicle. We found a garage for $25 a day but it was a 10 min walk away. Breakfast is not included in your stay but like I said there's rona of food options available at a price. There's also tons of restaurants you could just walk to. Overall I loved my stay here and I'd come back if I'm ever in Waikiki.

The room we were given was dirty and the overall experience was extremely disappointing. At the time, we were promised that Hilton would make things right on our next visit, including an upgrade and additional support. We returned this time expecting Hilton to honor what had been promised. Instead, we were told there was nothing they could do for us. What made the situation even more disappointing was the response from the front desk. There was very little effort to understand what had happened previously or find any kind of solution. We weren't expecting anything unreasonable. We simply expected Hilton to follow through on what we had been told. Mistakes and unexpected circumstances happen, especially during something like a hurricane. What matters is how a hotel handles the situation afterward. We gave Hilton Vacation Club another opportunity based on their promise to make things right, and unfortunately, they failed us again. For a hospitality brand of this size, I expected much better communication, accountability, and service.
