I visit Oahu about twice a year and have always chosen to stay at the Hyatt Centric because of its…read moremodern feel. However, on my most recent trip, I decided to try the Hyatt Regency, thinking the lounge access and more resort-style atmosphere might be a better fit for my elderly parents. We booked three rooms for our family, and I can confidently say that this stay completely changed my perspective and that is largely thanks to Grace at the front desk. From the moment we arrived, Grace went above and beyond to make sure our check-in experience was seamless and welcoming. Traveling with elderly parents can sometimes be challenging, but she handled everything with such patience, warmth, and genuine care. She was incredibly attentive to our needs, thoughtfully ensuring that our rooms were convenient and comfortable for everyone in our group. What truly stood out was her ability to make us feel valued not just as guests, but as people. Her professionalism was matched by her kindness, and it was clear she takes great pride in creating a positive experience for those she helps. She anticipated needs we hadn't even expressed and handled every detail with ease and grace. Because of her exceptional service, what was meant to be a one time stay at the Hyatt Regency has completely changed my preference moving forward. Grace's hospitality exceeded all expectations and made our trip that much more memorable. It's rare to encounter someone who leaves such a lasting impression, but Grace absolutely did. She is a true asset to the Hyatt Regency, and I sincerely hope she receives the recognition she deserves. I will definitely be returning and recommending this property to others because of her.

Unfortunately, the first…read moretwo days of our trip were heavily impacted by severe weather--it was raining cats and dogs and apparently the worst storm in decades. During that time, the property experienced a loss of power and water, and the elevators were not working, which made things quite challenging. That said, once the weather cleared, we were able to appreciate what the hotel had to offer. We had booked two adjoining oceanfront rooms, and the view was beautiful when the skies opened up. Waking up to the ocean right outside our window made it all worthwhile. The hotel itself is a bit dated, but the front desk, maintenance team, and all the staff members we interacted with were all very friendly and really helpful despite the difficult circumstances. Their positive attitude made a big difference in our stay. The location is def a huge plus, lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance, making it super convenient. The pool is a bit small and tends to get crowded, but it was heated, which was nice, and we really enjoyed the SWIM bar and restaurant. The food and drinks there were surprisingly good but they have a new menu so I was disappointed I didn't get to try some of the items I saw on the Yelp reviews . Overall, the service, location, and beautiful oceanfront views made our stay very enjoyable.

Tough to get a spot by the pool unless you set up shop at 9am. The do have cabanas you can rent for 1/2 the day for $50 so you can be in the sun. The pool has shade until about noon. Not a heated pool. The breakfast for the Voyager 47 was club nice and the views on the ocean were great. The host made it easy to give your room number and take the hot breakfast on the patio or eat indoors. The also have snacks and happy hour in the afternoon from 4-6pm. Again staff is great! The one complaint, this is not the best ocean view property. The beach is super Small and being able to walk on the beach was very misleading. Also they were doing work in the lobby so it was not super Relaxing and quiet by the pool. Overall a great place but plan to have a vacation filled with kids a small pool and a very small beach.

We dined in at a nearby restaurant, then walked around seeking Kona coffee. Our suite was ready around 3 PM. The suite was very spacious and I am mostly impressed with the cleanliness. The bathtub did have a ring of discoloration surrounding the drain. I gave my kids showers instead of baths to be on the safer side. I love that there are multiple pools on the resort. Although, I am disappointed that the adult pool closes at 6 PM, which all the other pools close at 9 PM. There is a private beach area, which my kids enjoyed. Beach chairs are $26 each, which are quite expensive. I appreciate the $65 per night dinning credit, which we utilized at the on site market for snacks and water. We enjoyed the brief firework show from our balcony suite. We attended the on site Huli Huli event, which was quite disappointing. I did not enjoy the food and it was pricey. $75 for skewers, corn, and shrimp. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and will contemplate on a return visit in the future.

The staff were very friendly and helpful in trying to accommodate us. They gave us a number to text them if we needed anything and responded pretty quick every time. I booked a city view room with two queens and sofa bed. To our surprise, we got upgraded to partial ocean/ mountain/ and city view with two queens and sofa bed! The room is very spacious, even after pulling the sofa out into a bed. Very clean too. I liked that the sink/ mirror area is separate from the toilet/ shower room. They use community-style body wash and shampoo/ conditioner fyi. Super strong water pressure. There was not a lot of lighting in the room so I found it very difficult to do my makeup :/ They have a mini fridge but it's not very cold. AC worked great in our room! Plenty of space to store belongings including a closet, drawers, and a safe. Housekeeping comes almost every day to do light stuff (like make our beds and change our trash) and do full housekeeping service every 3rd day. One of the main reasons I booked this hotel was because they offered complimentary continental breakfast in the morning. Breakfast is located on the third floor by the pool area. They switch food items everyday. Something unique is they offer rice and miso soup with toppings such as kimchi, tofu, and pickled cucumbers. There's also cereal, yogurt parfait bar, bagels/ toast, juice, and coffee station. Seating is outdoor by the pool or indoor by the lobby. They have a microwave with plates and utensils in the lobby too! It was really nice that we got to heat up our own food since most hotels don't have microwaves available. Definitely take advantage of everything that is included in the resorts fee. Everyday, you get $5 credit from The Placery (their mini bar/ restaurant to the right of the front desk). A lot of items on there are quite expensive so usually we'd just get a water bottle or soda. This money does not roll over to the next day so make sure you use it or lose it. They also gave us two free reusable water bottles with Hyatt Place logo. I like that they have free filtered water dispensers for you to fill up in lobby and gym. You get a card during check in to rent beach towels and also beach chairs for a day. There's a small pool and free gym on the third floor. Laundry room is next to the gym and it's self-service. They also have detergent and dryer sheets for purchase but I recommend just bringing your own. It was quite frustrating paying for detergent because it wouldn't read my card at first and took a couple of tries. Same with using the washer and dryer machine. It's $4 per load but there's a sign saying it'll show as $8 per load on your card and will process back that $4 after a few days... which is very strange. Washing machine but fine but dryer sucked!! We had to pay multiple times because our clothes would not fully dry. Eventually, we just gave up and air dried our clothes in the room which was extremely inconvenient and annoying. This hotel is conveniently located on Kuhio and 5 min walk to Waikiki Beach. Next to the lobby is a Domino's Pizza. Down the street is an ABC store and a couple of restaurants. If you want to be central to Waikiki shopping area like International Marketplace and Royal Hawaiian shopping center, it's at least a 10 min walk for those who don't mind walking. We personally liked the location because it's closer to the beach and on the quiet side since it's on the end of Waikiki strip. Parking in Waikiki is such a pain in the butt. Here, they only offer valet parking and it's $63 before tax. It's also first come first serve so if you come late... you have to find somewhere else to park. The street its on is also a one way street so if you miss the entrance/ drop off area, you gotta circle around to get on the same road again. We parked at the Banyan Waikiki garage because it was a little cheaper (see my other review on that for more info). I also heard some folks park at Honolulu Zoo because it's $1.50 per hour but there's also a 4 hour limit and depending on which machine you pay at, some may or may not text you for you to extend the parking time (which is up to 24 hours.) During our stay, they had signs everywhere in that lot that they're doing some construction and don't allow overnight parking. There were plenty of cars but we didn't want to risk it at the time. Overall, my family and I had a great experience at Hyatt Place Waikiki and would definitely book this place again. Great customer service, clean and spacious rooms, complimentary breakfast, microwave and fridge access, free wifi, and very close to Waikiki Beach. The cherry on top was getting a free upgrade to partial ocean/ mountain/ city view balcony room with sofa bed!! Parking was bad but so is parking everywhere in Waikiki.

I did appreciate that they offered pool and beach towels, which was convenient. The biggest issue, and the reason I wouldn't stay here again, was the valet situation. It was basically non‑existent. By our second day, there was still no valet availability at all. We were told to try again around 11 AM, and even then, no luck. Valet is $60 a day, yet it was never actually available. Instead, they hand you a map of surrounding hotels and parking lots you can try to get into, all ranging from $45-$60 a day as well. So for our entire stay, we ended up parking at a neighboring hotel because that was our only option. As for the room, the view was mostly blocked by other hotels -- we stayed on the 10th floor -- so don't expect much scenery. It's a decent hotel, but for a Hyatt, I definitely expected more.

Can't eat it by the pool or in any of their dining areas. Ayce breakfast package. Breakfast is nothing great. Every single day it's just rice, sausage, scrambled eggs, potatoes, oatmeal, miso soup, bagel/ toast, yogurt and fruits and sometimes bacon (once a week). Fruits are always the same. Pineapple and melons. Got real sick of the same stuff everyday. But if you ordered food off the menu, it's pretty good. We did order breakfast once. We also did order room service and food came up pretty fast. Some issues we had: After checking in and unpacking we were leaving and checked our door to ensure it's locked and realized it doesn't lock. So we had maintenance come and fix the door. The next day it happened again not sure what happened but again it didn't lock. Maintenance came by and took a look and they fixed it while we were gone. A bit inconvenience. Mini fridge in the room is terrible. Very small and it doesn't stay cold for very long. There's a button that says you can turn it on cold for two hours and another button that says snooze for 24 hours. So your drinks barely get cold or your food like poke will most likely go bad. Pool and hot tub are always nice and clean. Has a little mini golf area. It is usually windy since it's on the 10th floor. The house keeper lady that cleaned our room on the 32nd floor was super nice. I used the laundry room once and it had 4 washers and 4 dryer. Nice and spacious enough. Definitely not busy at all.

BEWARE!!! The ONLY thing this venue has going for it is the view: and if you are on the side with…read moreno ocean view be prepared for a significant "rip off" experience. I'm literally giving this place two stars instead of one because we had a beautiful view. Here's the details: 1. Paid extra for breakfast and it was a bad experience all the way around: 15-30 min wait EVERY DAY to get in. Inconsistent staff: from bossy and entitled to a helpful and kind. Food was awful - the very basics and this is from a "real Hilton"??!! It's supposed to be better than Embassy suites right? Bottom line: the breakfast venue is way too small for a hotel of this size. Food choices are very basic and too many nickel-and-dime corner-cutting management choices: very small coffee cups, you have to ask for a pitcher of coffee, bowls are very small, they won't give you to-go paper coffee cup, signs up that say if you take anything out you get charged $1.99 for their "Green fee"? GTFOH!!! I paid almost $12k to stay here! If I want to bring a few bagels for the road deal with it. We ended up bringing in our own coffee cups, and making up lies at the Starbucks counter to get a to-go cup... Can you believe that? 2. They had an arcade room full of scam claw machines! So awful... poor kids dumping $15-20 a day trying to grab a 10-cent stuffy - really? Is that Hilton's best option at providing wholesome entertainment for children? Every game should have been free play and zero claw games. 3. Towel machines everywhere with signs that say if you don't return your towels you'll be charged! More insulting ghetto verbiage that just points to ignorant clueless management. At these prices and resort expectations, I absolutely do not need to ever read that crap: staff should be waiting and serving - not barking rules and consequences. 4. Worthless concierge desk! I asked the concierge desk how to get to the Dole Pineapple Plantation and they had no idea what it was! That's like being at a five star hotel in Paris, being told they don't know how to get to the Eiffel Tower. 5. Everything requires a key card! It's a real pain in the a$$! They sure have plenty of hotel security: what the hell are they doing? Literally, you have to use a key card to go into the elevator, to get to the pool, to even open the lobby bathroom, to get towels for the pool! Honestly, I don't care if every resort is like this: it's just really poor customer service. 6. Every day there was a magician in the lobby pandering people to see a magic trick and then sell you on a $75 ticket to an hour magic show at the resort!! Again, REALLY?? Dumb nickel-and-dime cheap tricks to lure kids into over priced activities that should just be part of the "resort experience" - Hawaii already requires an expensive daily resort fee that every hotel charges... So what the hell are we getting for that fee! 7. Body wash, conditioner, and shampoo dispensers in the room showers dribbled out little droplets... May not seem like a big thing, but at every corner of this venue experience was cheap, nickel-and-dime poor management tricks that were not at all what we expected from a four star listed "Hilton resort". 8. Last note: there are TWO Hilton resorts both with very similar names, marketing images, and in close proximity to each other. This one: "Hilton Waikiki Beach Resort and Spa" and the other one: "Hilton Hawaii Village Beach Resort". I spent about 5 hours searching resorts and I thought I was picking the other one - I'm no idiot, but after so long comparing, it was too easy of a mistake. I think the Hawaiian village, might've been a better choice for smaller kids... But ultimately I'm guessing most of the complaints would've been the same. I'll never stay here again.

We were about a block from the water. We arrived early (our flight got in around 11am), we planned to check in, leave our luggage and return when our room was ready - thankfully our room was ready when we arrived. Communication with the hotel prior to our stay was excellent; traveling for my boyfriends birthday, a family member wanted to ship a gift to be at the hotel when we arrived, and they were able to accommodate this. The package arrived the night before we did and the hotel had this delivered to our room upon us checking in. The concierge stopped us on our way to our room and offered us event planning and waters for our room, offered to set us up for events or local luau. We had many events already booked & planned however finding out we were here celebrating my boyfriend on his birthday the concierge set us up with tickets to 'Auana by Cirque de Soile, which was an incredible show. We had a corner room with a large balcony that we enjoyed eating meals on or enjoying the warm Hawaii Rain. There was plenty of natural light in the room. The room was equipped with a coffee maker, microwave, mini fridge & TV. TV guides were kind of strange as there were 3 separate channels for guides, not that we were here to watch TV. The bed was decent, but not the most comfortable. The bathroom was well cleaned but had a heavy bleach smell upon arrival. Housekeeping was great and would come in daily and make our beds, replace or add towels & empty the garbage. The hotel had some pretty cool artwork in the lobby including a wall made of surfboard pieces. We didn't utilize the pool, we were thinking about eating breakfast at the Grove Restaurant, but they were closed when we went up there. There was a wonderful smell of Plumerias when you would enter the lobby which was a nice touch. Parking is $40/day - we only parked in the garage 2 days and we had to have the hotel adjust post stay as they charged us for every night rather than just the 2 days we had told them at check in. The gentleman at the front desk helped issue a refund for the additional days we were charged for parking. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would stay here again in the future.
