My son met the 42-inch height requirement and has safely enjoyed similar attractions before, yet we were still made to feel uncomfortable and singled out throughout our visit. What upset me the most was watching my son cry after getting hurt, and instead of showing concern or compassion, staff looked at him, walked away, and laughed with another coworker. As a parent, that was heartbreaking and completely unacceptable to witness. No child should ever be treated with such disregard, especially when they are visibly upset and crying. Throughout the visit, my children both older and younger were watched excessively, which made us feel targeted instead of welcomed. As a Black family, the treatment we experienced raised serious concerns about bias and discrimination. I fully understand the importance of safety rules, but rules should be enforced respectfully and equally for everyone. Families come to these facilities to feel safe and enjoy time together, not to feel humiliated, ignored, or judged. I will be contacting the district and administration for both facilities to formally report these experiences and seek accountability. I hope steps are taken to ensure no other family or child is made to feel this way again.

How would I rate my family experience at Mott HS Pool on Monday, February 16, 2026?…read moreIf I could, I would give ZERO stars. Let me explain why. My family - my wife, I and our three grand-kids (13, 7 and 2 years old) came to the pool in the morning. Main entrance to family locker room was locked. One of two changing rooms was locked. But it was not the worst. When my 2 years old granddaughter under my wife supervision was playing with her small (3 inch), soft (made of rubber), floating duckling, some lifeguard came up to them. He forbade my granddaughter to play with her duckling in the pool. I've asked him: Why? He answered: Because of the pool rule - "NO TOYS IN THE POOL". I've asked him: Why? Is this toy dangerous to anyone? He rudely replayed: "Because this is the rule!" We had to take the toy from our kid. She started crying. Thus the person ruined our granddaughter's joy. I've asked him twice: What is your name? He refused to answer. Finally, I figured out his name from another person. His name is Bill. I understand that Bill hid his name because he knew that he had done something inappropriate. We used to attend the pool for more than 10 years. Before February 16 we never met such an unfriendly person in Mott High School Pool. Greg W. 79 years old

I honestly wasn't a fan due to the fact that my child didn't have the personalized attention that he needed to improve his fundamentals. The plus side to these types of classes was the cost. Honestly, you get what you pay for. At Goldfish, my son has received that individualized attention. He has really come into his own in the pool. Each one of his instructors throughout his journey at Goldfish Swim School have paid close attention to his technique and have worked with him to improve. He always receives positive reinforcement for his efforts. I really enjoy the atmosphere that his instructors provide. All in all, I'm a fan of the personnel all around. The folks behind the counter are always there to lend a hand. The instructors have all been very professional and friendly. The establishment is always very clean and organized. If you're looking for a good swim school, consider this one. As always, thanks for reading. - Brian

I attended a birthday party here and it was a great experience!…read more The facility was clean, staff was professional and most importantly they kept kids safe! Children were required to pass a swim test if they wanted to swim independently and couldn't touch the bottom of the pool. This included splashing water (even grabbing her personal water bottle to squeeze water onto instructor in next lane) into next lane and throwing baby toys into next lane. I brought this to the attention of the front desk staff. This instructor was allowed to continue on with the mini class. This instructor also issued instructions only once to parents at an almost-whisper and then seemed annoyed when nobody knew what to do. scammy enrollment policies: 1 We were told at the time of enrolling that we could book for just one month with no auto re-enrollment. They re-enrolled us so we had to pay for month 2 in a hostage situation. They also told us we could cancel classes with fair notice and use make up tokens any time. Well, not any time because when we tried to use them after our last month ended, they told us we would have to reenroll ($120) to use our make up tokens for lessons WE ALREADY PAID FOR. Just go to the YMCA-- it's not any cleaner but at least it is cheaper, they're nicer, not scammers, and there's multiple instructors per class and very active life guards.

They called me between 2 and 8 times per day Mon-Fri. I finally called them back and found it was Dorsey. I checked out a local community college and they had the same program for a lot less money and there was no aggressive sales pitch at all. Dorsey smells of desperation and greed.
