Day two and it's been a great experience. When we arrived checkin was so easy. Dylan walked us to our room and gave us a tour. He sat us down and made it so easy to plan our week. By far best experience I have had. We set up a presentation for the timeshare and we bought in. Impressed with how this timeshare is run. Eden was so great, she perfectly walked us through it and it was great.

The buffet was awful, the only thing I enjoyed there was the omelettes made at the omelette counter and the fruit. The best place to dine was the sports bar only for their mozzarella sticks and Caesar salad. The resort has two sides the left side with the tiki hut had awful service, it took 30 min to an hour for us to even get asked if we needed anything and sometimes had to waive down the waiter. After waiting 30 to an hour to get our order in it's another 30 min to an hour wait to get our food/drinks. The side withought the tiki hut had amazing service, Moses was our waiter and he did an amazing job making sure we were taken care of !! Very nice guy We enjoyed our room, it was clean and AC worked. The elevators stopped working half of our trip which was unfortunate. The mexican restraint hacienda seines was not good, the worst food I've ever had. The hotel itself was beautiful and some of the staff seemed miserable and gave the cold shoulder.

We're a young married couple that came here for 6 days and purchased on a cheap budget, including flights! Absolutely amazing. Good was great and were some foodies, service was awesome the staff seemed to have fun w us and helped this family resort turn up which was perfect for us bc we wanted somewhere in the middle of party and chill. Clean, everything was accommodating, go here for a romantic fun getaway or a family trip. Shoutout to Nat the concierge for making our reservations for the yummy restaurants on site and handling all the small details so we didn't have to (also included!) oh, and beautiful beach!!!

The Royal Sands is a great vacation resort. It's a very large property. The staff is friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. Our all inclusive package was well worth it. My only 'complaint' is that we didn't know that we'd have to attend a membership sales presentation. But even that was done in a friendly no pressure manner.

I booked a 4-night stay at royal Cancun. Unfortunately, the morning after check-in, my wife became ill due to the poor conditions of the room because of mold. So I had to contact Priceline.com to cancel the remaining 3 nights. However, they informed me that I would only receive a refund for the last 2 nights, while still being charged for the night that made my wife sick and another night I could not stay. When I requested to at least use the second night that I was already charged for, the hotel refused, claiming that their system had already checked me out without my consent. This is a scam. I had no choice but to involve the police to report the situation. The resort's service is poor, the room conditions are unhealthy, and the online photos and reviews are misleading. Their practice of double-charging guests and finding ways to profit dishonestly is unacceptable. I am sharing this experience to warn others about the real environment and service here. I strongly do not recommend this resort, nor booking through Priceline.

Nice place... The views of the beach from the beachfront condos were amazing. Felt like I was living in a Corona commercial...brilliant! The rooms were nice and clean, with plenty of amenities. Actually our "room" was basically a one bedroom apartment with a kitchen and a bathroom. Just about everything you could think off was available; Refrigerator, Coffee Maker, Stove, Utensils, Dishes, Dishwasher etc. We even had two Murphy beds in the spacious living room! Brilliant! Interaction with the staff was always pleasant and helpful...no complaints. With several massive pools and hot tubs available, there was plenty of aquatic activities for everybody. Can't forget to mention the beach and the Ocean as the backyard. Plenty of The upkeep and cleanliness of the entire venue was impressive. Lovely place to stay...

Shuttle between resorts

Resort itself is nice and clean. Amazing view as soon as you walk in those doors! Pool areas are fun for all ages!! Pool side drinks are better than restaurant drinks... The air freshener through out the resort will drive some crazy!!! It's very strong! All inclusive..... sike! Surcharges on all the "good drinks and food" and I am exaggerating on the good part. ROOM SERVICE is trash!!!! Do not recommend!!! I liked the Veranda's lunch Buffett and the sister hotel Royal Cancun's Italian restaurant. Loved that you have the option to hang out at either hotel and eat there. The Royal Cancun beach area is smaller but more accommodating to children that want to swim in the ocean. Royal Sands waters are rougher and kinda scary for the little ones. Try not all inclusive and go out of the resort to eat! No cash resort.... We brought a lot of pesos to use and couldn't use them there! Everything is close by!!! Walking distance to LA ISLA 1 and 2... and lots of restaurants. Unfortunately we didn't try any... except for the one at the aquarium at ISLA 1. 3 stars is mainly for the staff! They are amazing hard working and super nice!!! Everyone we encountered was amazing!

We visited this hotel on Sunday, because it is one of the three Royal Resorts in the Cancun area. Food: We decided to grab a light lunch after a few hours in the sun. The food came out very fast and hot. Of course I had to add my own salt and pepper, but overall everything we ordered was delicious.  Customer Service: Our waiter at the restaurant was very patient, friendly, and helpful. He was very attentive and kept coming back to our table and checking to see see if we needed anything. We really enjoyed everything we ordered, and there was no issues with paying our bill even though we were staying at another Royal Resorts hotel.  Staff: Everyone from the shuttle bus driver, front desk, pool towels, and the restaurant was very professional. It's very apparent that their staff really goes above and beyond to ensure that everyone's  experiences are excellent.  Beach & pools: This resort is alot more lively and there seemed to be more younger guests than older. So there seemed to be more pool events going on, as well as it was much more crowded than the other two resorts. The beach is an easy and short walk from the pools, if you desire to swim in the ocean or just walk the beach. The sand was soft but we noticed that there was more sharp shells, so I'd recommend wearing flip flops on the beach. TIPS: There is a free resort shuttle that runs between the three hotels, so their guests can ride comfortable in an air conditioned bus.

I whet to there for 5 days and here is why I rate it 3 . The ice cream machine was broken . I almost whent out of the big green slide, and I stubbed my to on the blue. And the room was ok but needed to have pop in the fridge when you just came. And the buffet sucked. And room service was to long. the kids club sucked.and finally why do you need a kitchen In the room? if you're going to the whole family, I would the dreams in the area.

The staff is very helpful, and no issues communicating in English. The beach the resort is on is beautiful, white sand, blue water. Plenty of beach chairs and a 1 hour reserve limit so people can't just put their stuff on chairs and leave it for hours. First night there we ate at Sidelines, the onsite bar/restaurant. I got food poisoning and my entire night was spent on the toilet. IMHO, the all-inclusive isn't worth it. The food is just okay at best, food poisoning at worst. The drinks included aren't good, ordered a mojito from sidelines and neither of us could stomach it. Dos XX is an included beer and it always tasted soapy, no matter which restaurant it came from. We ordered room service a couple of times and it always came quit faster than quoted times. The room was clean, far from luxury. Sheets were very itchy and uncomfortable pillows. The toaster in the room was broken. Shower is small and dated. I'll be looking for a different hotel if I go back to Cancun.

$580~ for a week's stay is AMAZING. So many amenities, truly not enough time. I stayed with a group of 20+ friends and acquaintances that booked rooms in bulk, which might have contributed to the incredible price. For COVID safety purposes, staff wear masks and hand sanitizer is provided throughout the resort. Masks are encouraged but not required. I split a suite with three friends-- the suite consisted of: two rooms (2 pulldown beds, 1 master bed), a kitchenette, a walk-in closet, 1 cramped bathroom w/shower, and a balcony view to the ocean. PROS: - Easy to book shuttle to/from airport (with Thomas More Travel) - 24/7 staff available + room service, staff are incredibly friendly though I'm sure that they face 100 million Karens a day - Impeccably clean rooms and amenities, including spa, tourist center, multiple pools with swim up bars and hot tubs - Literally bars everywhere (all inclusive!), including beachside service - AYCE buffet for every meal, with different themes each night (LOL @ "Oriental Night") - Daily recreational activities at the pool and community area - Close to (or a short bus ride away) from shopping centers and restaurants - Free airport-approved COVID testing at the time we were there (I believe they now charge $100+ for quick turnaround testing) CONS: - Room service will take hours to arrive - Definitely an older building (apparently used to be a timeshare) with the occasional cracks and rusting - Low water pressure, at least in our shower and toilet - Beaches can have a lot of scratchy seaweed close to shore, but depends on the time of day Still, not much to complain about while we were here. Perfect weather in April, with just enough sea breeze to cool you down. The food was great (a lot of healthy options!) and the facilities were lovely. My only regret is not bringing enough cash to tip throughout the entire trip. So many of our kind and attentive local staff members worked so hard to keep us tourists happy, I wish I could've had more cash to express my appreciation. NOTE: Everything is on paper receipts (and in Spanish), and additional costs (like specialty drinks during meals) will be charged on the card presented at check-in. Not much is digitized, so hang into those sheets and take notes when it comes to Venmo requesting your friends.

We Stay in this incredible place from May 21 to 31 because my sister is a member so yes is a time share but is an awesome one, however u can book if u are not a member but then options are linited in the all inclusive. The location is great. Right on the beach, right across the street from the shops of La Isla (the island). The staff was magnificent in all aspects. We got lucky and were upgraded to a PentHouse corner suite. Spacious and the view of the Caribbean as you would expect was tremendous. One of the main eye catching features of this hotel is its expansive 2 family pool with swim up bar. Huge and beautiful. There's also an adjoining Olympic length lap pool (recall it being 3 lane). There's also a separate adult pool area. All the pools had plenty of chairs. Lastly a larger than normal jacuzzi (and one right next to it under construction). And of course you can't forget the largest water feature steps away with plenty of beach, chairs, palapas, and umbrellas. This is an all inclusive resort, so food and drink are never far away. We did a couple of breaks in the weather so got to enjoy the poolside cafe which was excellent. (Great margaritas and everyone should try the cranberry mojito if you are into that sort of thing. Delicious. And dangerous. Hard to stop at one) For the most part the food is filling and plentiful. One does not choose all inclusive because you want to excite a discerning palate. One does benefit from options. Options on property and a number restaurants off property as well. The resorts offers complimentary shuttles. The restaurant staff were welcoming, attentive, and efficient. Great service all around. On the beach the palapas are awesome but the beach is dirty in some areas because the sargasum and they only mix it up with the sand but they don't removed it so when u try to swim some areas are cover and hurst ur body specially if you are sunburn. Not sure if the hotel has the responsibility to removed it or is the government. Though we were hunkered down in our room a couple of days because a storm was near by, the resort still providing a relaxing few days to unwind. Face it. It's hard not to have a good time in Cancun.

We had an amazing experience from bell boys, lobby, staff and the food. All were nice and accommodating - everyone is just easy to approach and try best to communicate what was needed. The rockstar employee Viktor and Jennifer was super awesome! Everyone was working hard to ensure that their guest's stay will be amazing. The room was neat and all of the facilities and activities they are offering for free was on point. The free bus shuttle drivers were all nice. They also have a lot more restaurant options aside from the one inside the hotel which is included in your All Inclusive package - most of them need to have smart casual wear and reservation so take note of that. The only reason I give 4 stars is because of what happened after a room service. My beauty blender foam had a permanent marker written on it, not a big deal since I can buy a new one but I am more paranoid what else has been touched or used in our stuff. Since then we didn't ask for room service. The lobby manager just told us that the staff only move my stuff and that's it. We do not have permanent marker or thick pens like that so it is only common sense who did that unless someone else whom we don't know get in our room without anyone of us knowing. I can attach here the photo.

On Saturday they set up this fun backdrop for a fun photo

WOW This is our…read morefirst resort in Cancun and I don't think we will ever choose another one. FOOD Wow. We did our homework before our trip and saw Zilara Cancun had good/decent reviews about their food. Let me tell you, this is probably the best food I've had in a long long time. Top dishes for me are the octopus with mole and lobster tostada from Maria Marie. If you like/can eat seafood, trust me on this. The drinks are phenomenal as well. There are signature drinks at all the restaurants. Those are mostly hits but some are misses (depends on your taste buds) PRO TIP: sign up for alcohol tastings at The Den first day you get there. We did tequila and wine tasting. It was quite a unique experience. SERVICE I've never gotten treated like this in any hotel I've been at. Chef's kiss for sure. The bellhop/front desk usually can break your 20s/100s into 1s so don't feel the need to exchange pesos (unless you want to of course). The workers at the hotel (and around Cancun overall) takes USD PRO TIP: there are a lot of activities hosted by the hotel. Morning exercise classes are really fun and the night shows are just okay. The crowd is definitely on the older side that just want to come to Cancun and chill not party. From hearing the reviews, Zilara had the most amount of activities from various first hand reviews from our friends All in all, solid resort. You won't regret it!

I wish they would have advertised/told us the buffet had different theme dinners. They were our favorite for dinner. There were good dishes at each, but nothing phenomenal. I really liked the lunches they had set up by the pool. It was overall good and on par with my expectations for an all inclusive. BEACH- this is honestly one of the highlights. The resort had one of the best beaches and ability to get in the ocean. If you want to get in the ocean, this is the spot. SERVICE - this was the most disappointing. At Excellence you cannot breathe without someone asking if you need something. It took a long time for people to check on us and we tip well. Day 4 we finally found Humberto who was THE BEST! Find him and tip him well. ROOMS- they were good and I was happy with them! POOLS- the pools were fine. A little shaded. The most annoying part was the cabana situation. Some are free, some are always paid, and some are paid on certain days. I get up at like 6AM every day anyways so I got good cabanas but if you're not an early riser you're screwed. Overall, I'd return!!

The food was another highlight. With multiple onsite restaurants. Vina del Mar was perfect for starting the day- it serves breakfast lunch and dinner and offers mexican and international cuisine . Outdoor sitting was beautiful. All other restaurants would need reservations- and we tried Chianti Trattoria Italiana - serving Italian cuisine and had elegant atmosphere. La Joya- serving authentic Mexican cuisine with incredible presentation. With its prime beachfront location, relaxing pools, outstanding dining options, and exceptional service, Grand Fiesta Americana Cancun delivers a truly luxurious experience. I would absolutely recommend this resort and would love to stay here again.

We also enjoyed live entertainment and a night club on the property, yet it remained wonderfully quiet when we wanted to relax. We loved the aromatherapy --it was such a thoughtful touch. The location is very convenient: close to a pharmacy, just across the street from a shopping mall with a mix of upscale and casual dining and shops, and only 10-15 minutes from Cancun's vibrant club zone. Our luggage was immediately checked in and we were able to check in even arriving early around 11 am. Our particular room was ready and we checked and our luggage was promptly dropped off. We stayed in an oceanfront room which had a beautiful view with a seating area inside and on the balcony. The room and bathroom were very clean and well stocked. I like the aromatherapy touch in the resort and in our rooms being able to choose which scent you wanted was very nice. I loved the separation of the toilet and shower by a wall and doors for privacy when using either. The water pressure and water temperature in the shower was great although there was some water draining from the shower during use. We would generally put a foot towel down to contain the water. The room was serviced twice daily so we were never without towels, etc. I also utilized the laundry service which was reasonably priced for three pieces of clothing and it was returned the next day. The staff was generally very courteous and helpful (we only had one less than courteous experience with a waiter at the Hidden Garden on our last evening). The food at the restaurants and by the beach and pool area was great - I cannot say enough about the fresh fruit and the grilled ribs and chicken so well seasoned and cooked with flavor. We ate daily in Siete for breakfast (the smoothie station you will need to go to first because it fills up because the smoothies are sooo good). We also dined at Hidden Garden where I enjoyed Indian cuisine which was delicious (but a small portion). All inclusive so it was nice not having to continually carry payment and only the gratuity needed for the staff. The last two mornings of our stay there appeared to be construction in the room next door or our floor which was disturbing - we did alert the front desk staff and it would generally stop around a certain time. Getting beds and chairs at the beach was generally easy but for the pool it was the hunger games usually having to place towels or bags on chairs early to 'reserve' them (there are no reservations for chairs only for the larger cabanas for an additional fee) We also experienced the spa which was amazing. Highly recommend visiting during your stay. The spa ritual is so relaxing and the couples massage in a combined room was great. Would definitely stay again. $$$

Besides the price (extra $127/night for a toddler), we had a wonderful experience - the food (both quality and variety), the well-kepted grounds, the amenities (Kid's Club, gym, pools) and the service are all top-notch. Food: there are food available from 6AM to 11PM. Some places I visited multiple times are: The cafe (opens from 6AM to 11PM) - coffee, tea and Frappe available all day. I usually stopped by after the gym (yoga near the beach at 7AM) to grab a iced latte and freshly baked pastires (dulce de leches cruffin is my favorite). Habaneros (opens from 12-6PM) - this is a casual spot serving tacos and ceviche on the beach. Even my toddler enjoyed the mixed ceviche with octupus. I enjoyed the ceviche, salmon toastada, and octopus tacos, while my toddler playyed with sand on the beach next to the table. Moongate (opens after 5PM) - the only restaurant that requires reservation, but for Teppanyaki ONLY. We were able to make a reservation for 5PM about 3 days in advance. The Teppanyaki chefs are all super energetic and made the experience fun for both kids and adults. We went back for dinner, and enjoyed some Asian Fusion dinner of ramen and sushi/rolls. My favorites include Short-rib, Teriyaki Salmon and the Omakase Nigiri. Trade Winds (opens for breakfast and dinner) - best steak in the resort. Last but not least, it took me 3 days to find my non-alcoholic drink of choice - strawberry mojito. I'm not a fan of the pina colada here, just FYI. One thing I don't like is the dolphins in captivity. I know it's a major attraction of the resort, and my kids honestly enjoyed watching the dolphins swim around and being trained. Unfortunately, for the past two years, our experiences have declined significantly. The hotel no longer maintains the level of service and standards we once loved. The atmosphere feels different, the staff are not as welcoming, and there is a noticeable lack of attentiveness and care. During this stay, we had a particularly unpleasant two-day experience at the beach regarding the setup of lounge chairs and umbrellas. Rather than going into every detail, I will simply say the situation was handled poorly and left us very disappointed. What was most upsetting was that no meaningful effort was made to resolve the issue or make up for the inconvenience. Even after speaking with Guest Relations, who mentioned contacting the General Manager, nothing improved the following day. No accommodation or gesture was offered, which was surprising given the hotel's luxury positioning. It is also noticeable that the property feels quite empty during weekdays, except on special occasions or long weekends. Even then, the warmth and hospitality we once associated with this hotel seem to be missing. That said, I want to sincerely recognize Valenzo, who served us daily. He was professional, kind, and incredibly attentive. We never had to ask for anything, he would notice small details, like refilling ice before we even realized it was melting. His service was outstanding and he truly tried to make our stay better. Thank you, Valenzo. You made a difference. It is genuinely sad to see a place that once meant so much to us lose its standard. The entire hotel is illuminated with L.E.D.'s. The space is immaculate. It was 1/4 mile from the room to the lobby. The ballrooms and convention spaces are like a stadium. (Indoors or outdoors). The public bus arrives every (2) minutes and are often full. It is approximately .50 US to go 30 miles downtown. Just looking at the creative ideas a child could write a book . "This ain't Tijuana". The malls and beaches are protected by federal soldiers and the streets have checkpoints every mile. They obtain your information and destination. If something is off a militia is on alert. In NOLA people go missing all the time. They get discovered weeks later. Would never happen in Mexico . A drunk guy might get out the box, but it is very controlled. Every single person that works at this property is out of this world! Kind, helpful and always going above and beyond to make things memorable! There's always a little bit of construction because they're renovating, so plan accordingly by calling with them to make sure the areas you want open, are open. The new speakeasy is super cute. We visited there one evening and have the best time and service! This isn't the same restaurant where you go to breakfast but at night is a Spanish tapas restaurant. Everything was fantastic but all the food on the property is really great! We especially loved to order lunch by the pool. All the cocktails are fantastic, even poolside! Rooms are standard JW with some of them recently updated with the others on their way to being updated. Yes, there is a sort of a musty smell in the air, but that's in most hotels. It's a very hard to keep those highly humid rooms from smelling a little musty. You just have to get over it and enjoy the time outside the room. Pools are super cute and the beach area is nice. There is an adult pool that is open during the day but wish it was open later! Lots of places in walking distance if you decide to venture out of the property but why would you need to! Easy drive from the airport and to the downtown or for departure to Isla Mujeres. We did not go to the island this time but last time we booked everything through the hotel and they made it super easy.

At the pool we were taken great care of by Maria, Jeanette, Lucinda, and Laura! At the upstairs bar, Rual was a fantastic bartender! We so appreciated our Butlers, René and Juan! At the Spa, we highly recommend Linda. And at the Salon, there's no better than, Karina! Every restaurant had amazing service and food. I want to tell you our favorite restaurant, but they're all so good and we have a favorite something in every restaurant, so try them all! We also had so much fun playing pickle ball, chess, pool, and other games! Just a perfect week, hanging out at the pools or the beach, just everything...so much fun! Thank you to everybody at LeBlanc that made our stay extra special! And we can't wait to come back soon!

My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary and were looking forward to a relaxing vacation. We arrived early, 7:30AM and our private transportation picked us up after about 15-20 minutes after arriving. After a quick drive to the resort, we checked in. No welcome towel service nor welcome drink, but we received a warm neck wrap. Unfortunately, our room wasn't ready until 11:30AM, so we walked around to explore the property and have breakfast. We received a text message from the lobby that our room was ready and to return to the front desk. We were told our room number and that our luggage would be delivered shortly. The room had a beautiful view of the ocean, clean, stocked with snacks and drinks ,and over all nice. We unpacked ourselves and headed to the pool. While we were on the way, we met our butler who's desk is located in the hallway of the elevators. At that time we were connected to a WhatsApp group text. Then we returned to our room with our butler, who reviewed the amenities and light switches in our room. We ate at all the restaurants. We went to Blanc and Terraza for breakfast and our 2 favorite restaurants for dinner were Bella and Yama. Unfortunately, on a few occasions, Terraza and Yama served us cold food, as if they were sitting out too long. We tried scheduling room service breakfast and they were behind in schedule 30-40 minutes. We were underwhelmed as the room service menu as it wasn't as grand as the other palace resorts; we were looking forward to the chocolate cake; which wasn't available. The K'akau, coffee shop was the best to relieve our chocolate cravings. The main pool lounge chairs were always taken, so get there early. We relaxed at all the pools and depending on the day had our favorite. The beach is beautiful and the lifeguard at the tower was always welcoming and helpful to get us lounge chairs. The spa services and hydrotherapy were wonderful, but we were disappointed that the men and women were separated in the pool and jacuzzi areas. We ran into difficulties with our dinner and spa bookings. We made prior arrangements with our pre-concierge, but when we wanted to change our schedule, the on site concierge didn't have access to canceling them. We were told to email our pre-concierge to ask her to delete them from the system. Our pre-concierge also didn't confirm our restaurant bookings for certain days and so we had to ask our Butler if they were booked. What was the most disappointing was the evening entertainment. We were looking forward to certain shows/performances and then a few hours before the scheduled time, seeing the entertainment was removed and replaced with something mundane. We've been to Sun Palace, another adult only resort, down the road and after our experience at Le Blanc, we actually prefer Sun Palace over Le Blanc. From our experience.. Le Blanc is a great place if you enjoy the spa, peace and quiet, and want to just chill and lounge. But if you want a little more excitement, fun, music, and meet people and have great conversations, Sun Palace is the place. Our Butler, Rene on the 3rd floor was awesome. He made our anniversary special. Safety: We felt safe. When we arrived at the resort after walking down the hotel zone, security always checked us in. When we arrived via taxi or uber, they did the same thing. If you walked out to the beach, you have to scan your bracelet to exit the gate and also scan it the when you enter back onto the resort property. Elevators: There are 3 elevators and during our stay, 1 was always out of order. One day, 2 elevators were out of order. Luckily, we were only on the 3rd floor, so we often took the stairs. The stairwell does need more lighting, it is dark, so watch your step.

Our previous hotel left a lot to be desired, so this was a very welcome change. From the entrance way I was impressed with the decor walking through the garden and pool area I was in awe of how beautiful everything was. The room was immaculately clean, and while it was a standard room it was very nice and spacious and the marble flooring was such a nice touch. The shower was huge !!! We got in late so I assumed finding food would be a struggle , wrong again they offered 3 dining options late night as well as room service!!! The restaurant we found had amazing drinks and the food was so fresh and good ugh ! The restaurant was Cafe Urbano . The next morning we woke up and we were able to have a delicious breakfast with plenty of options including fresh fruit and let me tell you that in room coffee is also amazing! I honestly cannot wait to return to Cancun. I would definitely stay at this resort again. I've stayed at a several of hotels in Cancun and this is on the list of must return!!

CONCIERGE REVIEW FIDEL:…read more Fidel at the concierge desk provides an exceptional service to this hotel. In addition to being professional and quite pleasant, Fidel is a problem solver. That's someone I will take on my team anytime. During our stay, we had several glitches, and Fidel provided a professional outlet for us to express ourselves while maintaining brand standards. He has a difficult job and does it very well. BANQUETS REVIEW My friends hosted a Private pool party at Presidente InterContinental Cancun in August went on without a hitch. The pool area, cabanas, and buffet stations were immaculate . Despite the rain, we had a fabulous time. One star deduction for not being prepared for my food allergies which the catering/ banquet staff was aware of for more than three weeks. Thankfully, the staffed hurried to find two items that I could eat. They covered for the below par communication and made it work for me to have a chicken breast and two slices of steak which were both cooked properly and were flavorful. Most importantly, the wedding couple was not impacted. They had a wonderful time.

We arrived late and asked for bottled water, and were told to just drink the sink water... in Mexico. That alone set the tone. I also repeatedly emailed our concierge for assistance and received no response whatsoever. Our room smelled like mold, and the sheets were damp. Housekeeping replaced them, but the odor and overall condition never improved. Not what you expect at this level. Then it got worse. We had two rooms, one at this hotel and one at a neighboring hotel where a large group of our family was staying. That other hotel requires wristbands, which we had, so security here assumed we didn't belong, even though we had rooms at this property. At the pool, they approached us publicly and repeatedly questioned us, over and over, in front of everyone. No attempt to verify privately, no discretion, just standing over us and making a scene. It was humiliating. Then it happened again. While checking out, we crossed back onto this property to retrieve our luggage that they were holding. Security stopped us again and treated us like we were doing something wrong, only to confirm, once again, that we were legitimate guests. Two separate incidents. Same behavior. The level of aggression and lack of professionalism from security is completely out of control. This is not how paying guests should ever be treated. This wasn't just a misunderstanding, it was a failure in how guests are handled, and it happened more than once. We will never stay here again.

The staff was very friendly and tried to help with our request. The room was a junior suite with an ocean view. It was comfortable and our room attendant did a great job. The king bed was two beds pushed together, but with some magic by the wife we made it more like one and were very comfortable. You can get a single king bed in some of the rooms. We were there with friends and didn't want be separated so we stayed with that configuration. I would try and get a room on the west wing. It actually looks to the east and you don't get the extreme heat in the late afternoon that the east wing does. We ate at all of the restaurants and our favs were the Black and White Steak house and Krystal. The Italian restaurant off of the lobby was good for a quick slice of pizza at lunch time. The buffet is like it is on a cruise ship and was good for most of our breakfast seatings. After a few days gets a little old. The staff was super friendly and hard workers. There is a 24 hour refreshment spot, but the food is only so so. Just for a quick sandwich or fruit. They do have a beer tap and a few selections of liquor available there for self service as well. The pool and beach area had plenty of chairs and umbrellas. If you don't see any available just ask and they will make it happen if possible. My complaint about the pool would be they close at 7:00. One small pool stay open until 8:00. Way too early for an adult only. I suggest if you want to do excursions to go straight across the street to one of the stands. If you know what you want to do they are a much better deal, but be certain you know where you want to go. make sure and get transportation included in your excursion. Also in that area there is the Bamboo Spa. You can get a massage for less than half at the resort spa. They did a very good job and were very professional. Not a "happy endings" type of place. Tell them you will do the massage if they throw in the fish foot treatment. Sounds weird but it was pretty nice. This is all inclusive for food and drink. The drinks are pretty light and when you ask for something other than the house liquor I'm pretty sure it didn't happen all the time. The best is to ask for the drink with a shot on the side, or better yet go to the bar yourself and watch them make the drink. It was definitely better and i was assured to get the name brand. Over all I would recommend this RIU.

What an incredible trip!! Hands down my favorite place to stay in Cancun!…read more The hotel was stunning. We got the jacuzzi room and it felt like we had a palace! The views were insane and we felt like royalty! Our friends got the Jr Suite rooms and their rooms were equally just as nice (in case you are looking to save money, no matter what, get that frontal sea view room!!!!) The hotel is a palace and we were able to explore other hotels around (Caribe night party was super fun! And the Cancún next door was more lively at night and had better social life!) The staff were super friendly and made sure our cups were ALWAYS full and we were happy!! It's also NO KIDS, so you never had to worry about crying babies or kids running over your stuff at the pool/beach! The food: The buffet was great (not like normal hotels cheep buffets) this place had amazing staff and the quality of the fresh food was so shocking! There were endless options each day. There are also other restaurants at the hotel, our favorite was the Japanese one, the food was so good (we got multiple dumpling orders TO-GO back to our room. The steak house was good as well, just it gets BUSY and you need to book in advance to ensure you'll get a table. The Italian one was very American Average, nothing crazy stood out, but again the venue vibes were great! The 4th one, we never went to cuz the menu didn't fit our desire, but it looked cool from the outside! Cons of this hotel: The 24hr snack lounge had this kinda funky cleaning smell? I don't know how to describe it but my clothes coming home had that odor on it. Also The beach was kinda small/narrow so there wasn't much room if you came down around lunch. Chairs/loungers were also a VERY hot item and it was hard to find chairs after 10am most days. If you like to drink, there isn't that "top shelf" quality of liquor here, it's kinda average... but the bartenders were able to make virtually any drink and we never had a single bad drink! Transportation: No one (not a single person) told us that you need to confirm your return transpiration the day after you arrive (and the travel people can be found out at the stage lounge are most mornings). Riu had messed up and booked 2 out of 6 of our party on a VERY early pick up instead of having us all travel together. We had to rebook through the agent outside but I was able to get a refund when I go back home) ------------------ Overall, BOOK this hotel. The location, the perks, the quality of life here can't be beat! We are already booing our next 2 trips here LOL
