The little gem of Donnington…read more I have been staying here on business for a few weeks having stayed at some competitors' hotels in the local area and cannot recommend the Donnington enough. The service is always friendly yet efficient and the staff are more than happy to help with any queries or niggles I have during my stay. Rooms are split into two tiers; standard and executive (executive rooms being larger with a sofa, walk-in shower and separate bath, and robes/slippers included). Room service food is superb and always delivered promptly even during busy periods. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel. The bar area is great and the staff are friendly and attentive. The decor provides a warm, intimate and relaxing atmosphere and is great for winding down in the evening. Breakfast in the restaurant in the mornings is superb and well worth the money. The cooked breakfast is particularly tasty and features meat from local farms. The spa and gym facilities are where the hotel really shines. The pool, Jacuzzi, sauna and steam room are not to be missed (quiet times in the week are from around 7pm). The changing room/shower facilities are well thought out and provide ventilated lockers, trunk/swimming costume drying, shower gel, shampoo/conditioner, hair straighteners and driers.

Stayed here on a business trip. Fairly standard hotel near Newbury in the South of England…read more Facilities for the meeting were very good. Staff were friendly and attentive. Rooms were clean and the price was reasonable.

A beautiful restaurant and wonderful customer service. The interior is very elegant and I would…read moreconsider using it for an event in the future if possible. Parking was not the easiest. I got the last space, but I couldn't see if overflow parking was available. The appetisers were very good and beautifully presented. The duck that my friend had looked wonderful. Our main courses were very good. The cod was lovely and the steaks were nice. My steak was a little fatty and I found the gristle very chewy on the end piece. I also like my triple cooked chips a little more crispy, but that's just my taste. The desserts were lovely and again beautifully presented. The ginger cake with chocolate mousse and the ganache plate were particularly good. The table next to us has the beef wellington and I would definitely order that if I went again. It looked phenomenal! Overall a lovely experience.

This restaurant excels at everything it seems..what a delight!…read more - Beautiful indoor and outdoor seating - Perfect service, attentive but not too much - Small thoughtful extras - Excellent food - Very well priced Came in for lunch. Had the 3 course lunch menu for £38 (what a steal!). Lamb belly for starter was delicious, well seasoned and put together dish. Mains I tried the pork collar which was very good but the house made black pudding was phenomenal, best I have ever had..inventively spiced, wish I could buy a kilo to take home. Dessert was fig leaf panna cotta, light and flavoursome. Had a coffee with dessert which was also excellent. Its very clear that they try to do everything to the best standard possible. Wish I lived closer.
