As we are on a weeks break from the grind of normal working life we thought we would eat out as much as we could for maximum relaxation, anyway thought we would try one of the local pubs for Sunday dinner and as the knot inn was fully booked until after 3 ( will leave a review later this week...) we thought we would have a mosey on down to the oak.
On first impressions the pub is your average right for bar left for restaurant place, a traditional village pub ( not the typical gastro pub chain type place) with a bit of character, the menu is quite vast for such a small independent pub with lots of choice, the food was tasty, piping hot and portion size was more than adequate.
serves both mainstream and local ales so again lots of choice in the pumps.
The staff are friendly and polite and get out and about to have a chat with the clientele.
2 roast beef dinners, 2 puddings, a pint of lager and a pint and a half of Coke was around 34 gbp which I thought was quite reasonable read more
