Super tasty quality food, I noticed that on the menu it even tells you which farm the meat came from, or where the ice cream was made etc. The Greek Lamb and the Gammon are both brilliant. The portions are huge and I'm always left with enough food for another meal but save room for the Holly Bush sundae because you wont ever have a such a selection of tasty locally made ice cream :) The prices are great too, last time I went it was around 30quid for the 2 of us.

Its rural outset is a perfect setting to take in the views when it's warm enough or during the Winter its a great place to sit around the log fires dotted around the interior. Cosy and very comfortable interior attracts local regulars along with ramblers from the nearby countrysides to the tea-time families and groups. Great place. Warm welcome. A MUCH better price than the hotels right next to the airport, yet this hotel/pub is just minutes from the hotel. The room was large and the bathroom was so nice and updated! The cow art in the hallways was sooooo cute! I loved loved it! The pub service could have been more attentive, but we were a little impatient as we wanted to repack for the flight the next day. The food was good! My husband enjoyed his flatbread pizza. My gammon steak was incredibly salty, like way too salty. Free parking. Easy check in/out Good WiFi We are back in the UK in August and we're already booking our overnight stay at this hotel. We're looking forward to it. Popped in on the way back from a cold day out at Alton Towers…read more We got a lovely warm welcome, were quickly seated near a roaring fireplace and settled in for a great meal accompanied by some very well kept Hartington IPA. The pub is cosy and friendly, and in a great location for walkers and cyclists on the Tissington trail. We'll definately be heading back soon (to the Royal Oak not Alton Towers, which is another story)!
