All I wanted was a convenient place for me to get my toes done after working in retail this past Black Friday weekend... as soon as I sat in the chair, they were trying to sell me the higher prices pedicure package. I repeatedly told them I only wanted the basic pedicure package ($25 according to their prices online) but they insisted I do the $30 one. I know $5 isn't that big of a deal, I just didn't understand what I was paying for. My boyfriend and I were just wanted a good quality pedicure! When I went to pay, she tells me "That will be be $52" I asked why so much and she told me I got the hot rocks and a fade and that added 15 bucks. I think that should have been told to me BEFORE NOT AFTER. I was under the impression that the rocks were part of the pedi I selected. After the pedi, she told me to get out of the chair because she needed to clean it. The place was empty and I was visiting with my girlfriend who was also getting a pedi when she insisted I get out of the chair. Then I looked over and she was sitting in the last chair on her phone. Decent for the price. Affordable service and reminds me of the nail salons on the mainland. Ken did a great job on my spa pedicure with the upgrade for $30 to get the mud treatment, scrub, lotion with a short massage and polish. The massage was short and underwhelming which is why I'm not giving this place five stars even though I asked for more pressure but it always feels good for someone to touch your feet. If I were on this side of the island again and in need of a pedicure I would probably come back but I wouldn't make a special trip out here to revisit it. No Kamaaina discounts so if you're a local expect to pay the same prices. All in all the staff is efficient and they keep everything sanitary which is important. I got pretty toes and in a quick time as a walk in on a Saturday. Mahalo to Ken for taking care of my Island feet but again, if you're looking for the massage component of the pedicure then you may want to go somewhere else but it is a convenient sanitary location and they did a great job of accommodating my disabilities. If I could give 0 stars, I would but unfortunately Yelp doesn't allow me to. Make sure to ALWAYS have them break down the prices. Beware:They don't tell you their prices when they are asking you for things so you think it's free or it comes with the pedi AND then you see your cost and it's like whoa! I don't mind paying but when you are being deceiving about it, I have a problem. They all had different prices when I asked them to show me where it says the extra cost and then i think the owner (a lady) tried to convince me that the cost was actually $14 but they are only charging me $10. Obviously you don't get it, an extra $10, $5 or even $2 is not the issue. You were being dishonest and you didn't tell me ahead of time. Let's just say be very careful of the lady Amy and I'm guessing the owner (didn't see her name). They are out to squeeze and charge you for everything. Wish I could give them zero stars! Located conveniently in the shopping center near Safeway , there is a lot of parking but very hard to find one due to the businesses surrounding this place. I went to get a full set with my sister, upon arrival no one greeted us , I signed in and noticed that there were not enough chairs in the waiting area. So me and my sister decided to stand outside in front of the doors. We felt a little uncomfortable being inside because everyone would just stare. We waited a good 30 minutes before we were helped. The decor in this establishment is very nice an up-to-date, but the nail techs are just not up to date with current nail art designs. Also their nail polish colors are very limited mainly consisting of different tones and shades of red. Finally after 30 minutes I go and sit down at a station with a nail tech. Her hair was blocking her name that was embroidered on her shirt, so all I can say to differentiate her is that she has blonde hair with black roots showing. I went in for the simple white french tip full set, I like my nails long and I was very clear and direct telling her the length I wanted. She cut them short saying it, "it looks better short rather than long!" As she proceeded to drill my nails, she was extremely rough around my cuticles that they burned and still hurt at this moment. I even had the pleasure of her cutting my finger (yay me). When my nail tech told me to go wash my hands I returned and she was walking out the door with her purse in hand! Wth!! I then was ushered to a lady named Amy whom again tried to sell me on a nail design which to her dismay I declined. She looked a little irritated and just quickly and sloppily put on the gel coating and put my hands under a UV light while she tallied up the end-of-day credit cards! When the machine shut off she told me I could go. I inspected my nails and noticed that the gel was still sticky and applied unevenly, I asked her to redo them. She then yanked my hand filed it off and reapplied and then had the audacity to ask me in a irritated tone, "better?" I swear it took every mature bone in my body to not go off on her. To me customer service is one of the biggest things, you are in the business of pampering customers. If you continue to be rude to your paying customers like that and not to mention the poor quality of service you provide, you will run this business into the ground. ALSO, speak English and conversation with your customers so they don't think you are talking bad about them. It has been about 7 hours since I got my nails done and they have already begun to lift and have dried remnants of gel polish crusting on the edges of my nails. Not to mention there is a discoloration in the acrylic, like it's old. Needless to say this is the worst nail experience I've ever encountered and will not be using their services again. Terrible, Terrible customer service! I chose to go here purely for its convenient location from my house. Before she began to do my nails, I asked for the gel, I pointed out to her that my right index fingernail was broken. I've been doing my nails for many years and usually when this happens they will cover the entire nail with acrylic before they apply the gel polish. But in this case, she just super glued it. The following day, the nail broke. So, I went back in to get it fixed. They rotate the people, so you get whoever is the next one available. So a different girl was assigned to fix my nail. I don't know her name, but she absolutely does not know what customer service is. She seemed irritated that I only needed to fix 1 nail, which means, she would have to wait another round of rotation to get another customer. She approached me and yanked me by my hand so she could take a look at my broken nail. She pointed to the chair for me to sit in. As soon as she started to work on my nail she got a phone call and she answered it. She had headphones on and continued to have a conversation throughout the entire time she fixed my nail. Each time she worked on my nail she yanked it as if she was irritated. Because she was on the phone the entire time, she never said a word to me, not even to greet me. She would just yank my finger or point to where she wanted to position my hand. This time, instead of the super glue she applied the acrylic, but she did not cover the entire nail. Instead she just applied over the ripped area. When I left, I shouldn't have, but I gave her a $3 tip. They didn't charge me for fixing it. The very next day, my nail broke again. But this time, it hurt really bad. Because she didn't apply the acrylic on the entire nail, I couldn't just bend it back because that part was so hard because of the acrylic. That part of my nail was embedded underneath the nail and I could push it back out. Ouch! Still in pain, I went back in for the 3rd time. They couldn't snap my nail back up because it hurt too much, so they just rebuilt it by just applying more acrylic right over it and just had to let my nail grow out. Again, they didn't charge me. Nina was nice enough to stop working on her customer and tended to me immediately because no one else was available and I was clearly really in pain. Because of that, I tipped her $5 (as I had no dollar bills), not knowing my husband had already tipped her $5. She just accepted my tip without even mentioning she already got $5 from my husband. My husband saw me hand her the $5, but he thought I was paying for getting my nail fixed. He didnt tell me he had already given her $5 until we where already walking towards our car. That one nail cost me $13 to fix + the original cost for the gel manicure!!! I never went back again! I suggest not to go here if you want to get the relaxing, spa treatment. But, if you're in a hurry & don't care so much for quality, because you're going to an event in a few hours, this is the place for you....hahaha! read more

SO DAMN DISSAPOINTED I've been going here for a while only because it's the closest place to my house. They were really nice and did an alright job. There were times where I'd go home after getting a mani/pedi and my cuticles would itch so bad. I thought it was just because of the chemicals or that maybe my cuticles were cut a little too much. Over time I noticed that the EQUIPMENT they used weren't clean. They would cut cuticles (fingers & toes), scrape the dry skin off the bottom of people's feet (including mine), THEN THROW IT BACK IN THEIR TOOL BOX. ALSO MY MOM RECENTLY WENT THERE AND SHE NEEDS TO GO AND SEE A DOCTOR NOW!!! She went to get a regular manicure and pedicure. Then the night of, she noticed that her cuticles were fat and had puss coming out of them!!!! My mom went there today to talk to the owner and she gave my mom ATTITUDE trying to turn the situation around on my mom, saying that she's allergic to the chemicals. WHEN MY MOM ALWAYS GETS MANICURES AND PEDICURES but not from this place. The OWNER then walked away and was talking about my mom TO A CUSTOMER. SERIOUSLY!?!! I'm so damn disappointed because I've been SOOO loyal. AND THEN THEY WANNA PULL THIS KIND OF SH*T!? Hell no. Never again. Never going to recommend this place either. Went in for a pedicure today with a couple friends and my daughter. I got the basic pedi with French tips and my daughter got just polish. The technician did great with my 2 year old and her little nails, but was extremely rough with mine. I have an ingrown toenail that was a little sore but not noticeable until she started jamming her tools in my nail. I told her about it when she did something to irritate it the first time and she continued to hurt it to the point where I was vocal about my pain and pulled my foot back. This happened multiple times. Now my toe is completely red and swollen on that side of the nail and I can't put pressure on it while walking or standing. My sweet mother came here asking for a simple nail polish change, the technician helping my mother was very rude and drilled my mothers nail very thin and was rough with her. After specifically asking for clear Gel, she put clear regular polish. The associate name is Tiffany...my mothers was being nice to her the entire time so I don't understand what the attitude was about? This place is nice and clean and I'm a regular here. Every technician I've had has been pretty good with the exception of one guy. I hate to put him on blast but Tony isn't that great. I went in for a manicure and I still had residue on my nails from the previous time. Tony took that electric file thing and filed off the left over acrylic. The problem was that he over did it and it filed the surface of my nails down so much that they were all red and sensitive. Once he painted them they looked like crap; not smooth or shiny looking. My nails have not been the same since then. They haven't grown much and they have been really sensitive and frail. I went in again for a pedicure on Friday and got him again. Overall the pedicure went ok but not my favorite. My biggest complaint for the pedicure is how the nail polish looked after it dried. He missed spots on my toenails and it looked bumpy and dull. I still tipped him $10 because he did do a nice little massage on my legs. I feel bad because he's nice but will not go to him anymore but everyone else in there is great. read more

After getting an awesome manicure in town while visiting a friend, I was a little disappointed that we didn't have time to go for a full mani/pedi. I had never received a full on pedicure before and on the way home I decided to stop at the new Royal Nails to inquire about a spa pedicure. The place was really busy, but I was quickly greeted and told to pick out my nail color. They started the water at the pedicure station immediately and I was ushered over by a really nice man who did the pedicure. He did an excellent job and let me relax without making too much small talk. When leaving, he had already moved on to another client (I had just been sitting at the drying station waiting for the polish to dry so I could leave) and he called me by name to say goodbye. I thought that was pretty cool :-) I can't remember what I paid, but they're pricing is clearly listed on a menu. I think it was somewhere around $30 and it was worth every penny. Well over a week later and the polish still looks perfect. I thought for sure it would have chipped by now, but nope! I'll definitely be going back biweekly, especially considering the polish lasts so long! Not to mention, parking is a breeze here and the location can't be beat! read more

If I could, I would give this place ZERO STARS. I have been getting my nails done with gelish for several years now, and I know when I get someone who has no idea what they are doing. I even gave them the benefit of the doubt and returned in hopes to have a better experience, however after three strikes, shame on me for going back purely out of convenience. This is the only shop I've been going to for both pedicures and manicures, so I've given them many options to redeem themselves, but it's getting way too expensive for such a crappy job. First experience was GREAT. Speedy, thorough, nails looked fabulous. You have to get one of the more experienced techs in order to get this service. Last three to five times, HORRIBLE. I'M SO FRUSTRATED I WANT TO GET MY MONEY BACK BUT I DON'T EVEN WANT TO WALK IN THERE ANYMORE. COMPLETELY DISGUSTED. My last two pedicures, I walked in, wrote my name, sat down. They called me within five minutes. I sit down, and never am sure who I will get, since everyone seems so rushed. I get a gentlemen, who is anything but gentle, let me tell you. He NEVER ASKS ME WHAT KIND OF PEDICURE, so when he starts, I grab the menu, and then say "HOT STONE PEDICURE PLEASE". He rushes through the pedicure and gives me the standard, cheap one. HE DID THIS TWICE, TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS. Whatever, your fault for not getting more money out of me, so I guess I'll handle the mediocre, low quality rushed pedicure. And the last foot massage provided by this facility during my last pedicure, HURT ME. I couldn't walk for two days, and I swear he sprained or broke one of the tiny bones in my foot. My last two manicures with GEL.... I ask for WHITE FADE, one woman there originally recommended it to me when they first opened, and she did it so nice, that's all I wanted done to my nails going forward. I get another inexperienced woman, and she makes me look dumb because I tell her it looks horrible. Apparently she is color blind because she puts a beige color instead of white. BUBBLES, THICK GEL, UNEVEN, LOOKS LIKE A THIRD GRADER DID IT, THEN SHE TAKES A NAIL FILE AFTER THE LAST COAT IS APPLIED AND DRIED?!?! WHO DOES THAT??! The gel immediately began flaking off as soon as I got home, but I didn't have the time to go back because I was heading out of town and my flight was the next morning. During my entire trip my gelish nail polish continued to flake off, I paid $50 FOR A MANICURE WITH GEL AND IT DIDN'T EVEN LAST THROUGH THAT EVENING. Not only do some of the technicians have NO IDEA what they are doing, they are all rushed. I would walk in, write my name down, and specify I want a manicure with gelish, and I would get approached by someone telling me to sit down in a pedicure chair that is ready for me. I stand there with a look on my face, "REALLY? I WROTE DOWN MANICURE", and I get looks from all technicians like I'm the dumb ass for not wanting a pedicure. I WROTE DOWN MANICURE. If the individuals at this establishment were at all aware of their surroundings, they would realize I went in for a pedicure the week prior. So much for a good nail shop in Ewa. I usually am not that picky about my nails or customer service as long as they do a good job I'm okay. I have been here twice once to get acrylic full set and another time to have them filled. Both times they tried pushing me towards gel nails which I did not because I have allergic reactions. But they did a horrible job putting on my set and filling my nails. They were uneven, thick, and lifting after a few days. When I went to get a fill in my polish was like a 10 year old had painted my nails. They were bumpy on the nail as well. The lady was nice and greeted me when I walked in. She took me in right away to wax my eyebrows, although it was a little thinner than what I usually get when waxed, it is nice and fixable with some make up. I would have rate this higher, but, every time I go here its a 50/50 chance of getting a good outcome. Previously, only 2/4 of the times I come here, my eyebrows look nice. The other two times, one was HORRIBLY over-waxed and not even the same shape as the other! This time, the wax burnt the skin near my eyebrows! This has never happened before, and it was a pain. Although, I do give props because the shape turned out DECENTLY nice (could have been more symmetrical, but its fi) and wouldn't have been able to do it myself. If I may say, I am super happy with how my nails came out. It's even more than I expected, I keep staring at them. They are so awesome!! Didn't get the Nail Techs name, but man she did an amazing job with my refill. It looks even way better than what I started with. Lol I definitely will be coming here on a Regular from now on. No complain. i sat and she did her thing. i'm assuming the person that had helped me today is the owner or manager. she seems to be greeting everyone that came in. she was working so fast like, she was trying to greet everyone that came in while she was doing my nails. speaking in her language directing what seat to take for customer that came in. she had a few workers looking at me like and felt bad but could not even say anything. my mani was done in less than 20 minutes. the fastest ever to do my nails. with the worst result. i asked her there at no nail polish in the corner so what she did was file it which made it look shaved bec it was already gelled. note the whole time she was greeting customer to be seated. Her station is as soon as u walk in it's the 3rd seat to your left in the walkway. so people are aware what kind of service she's providing. i had no complain bec i don't want to make a scene. I was with my son. i watched the person that did his pedi, she was amazing. wasn't rushing and looked at me like ( she felt bad) what kind of service i was getting. the lady that was helping me was sitting another person and got up and prepared another customer area while in between doing my toes. it was hilarious and they are looking at me bec she was focus letting everyone in. i know they have to make money. i don't care if i had the bad service as long as the nails were clean. my teenage daughter would've done it way better. so i made her correct the same thing that wasn't corrected right in the beginning. while she was going my toes. then she painted it and use her finger to correct it. i was like are u serious and it made it look worst. so at this point i was over it. no complain. i was holding my composure. went to pay with $175 bill. mani and pedi no nail polish for my son. and i had mani pedi with gel polish. i don't even know what i paid for. so i paid and the nerve of her to say do u want to add tip. are u out of your mind. i said No but pulled a 20 bucks and asked if she could change. i took the money walk right back and gave 10 dollar tip to the person that did my son. Worst pedicure ever by Nina. Toes are uneven, when mentioned she said it's because of the skin behind my nail..What??? I have never had a problem of the nails being in the same shape before. Walked in here today and all the people working ignored myself and another customer who walked in. We waited 10 minutes without being greeted or acknowledged. After being seated I made a comment it was rude to be ignored while waiting, they literally announced across the shop to the people who had been working and they all laughed. Really shows you how much they value customers. This place has steadily been going down in service and value the past two years. I had decided to give them a second chance after the last acrylic manicure they gave me separate from my nail in less than 24 hours. Save your money for a place who actually provides hospitality and customer service to the people who choose to spend their hard earned money at their business. read more

I signed up to give this review. FUNGUS!!!!! Don't walk, RUN away from this place. I got a gel manicure and a pedicure. Mind you, I hadn't had either in about a year because I was pregnant. I treated myself for my trip back home to Georgia. When i got to Georgia after about a week I took the polish off my toes only to discover FUNGUS ON MY TOES! I'm completely freaked out. I don't know how to fix it. I called and the lady was RUDE and said they didn't do it and there is nothing they can do about it. After I told her I would post the pics online she said there was nothing she could do to stop me and hung up. I wasn't rude to her at All, I just wanted to know how to fix it. Went in this eve for a gel fill, first time here. Picked my polish color & had my fill down. Brian offered a "fade" type polish & I agreed - what he failed to tell me was that there would be an additional $21 charge for this "polish" job.
