Since moving to New Hampshire 3.5 years ago, the first thing I did was find a nail salon. Boy, was I glad I found Royal Nails!! Everyone is pleasant, a great selection of nail color and services, and the price is comparable to others. Most places I have visited before this were CASH only, so that was not a big thing for me. I use the same technician I used the first time; they know me by name and even the sound of my voice over the phone. They will even squeeze me in if necessary. YES, you do have to wait sometimes, but that is only because they are often busy!! The service I receive is wonderful and I would recommend them to anyone. and as far as the poor reviews go, I don't know one nail salon that doesn't leave a spot of nail color on the skin. I'm not one to usually make reviews but I had a very disappointing and honestly concerning experience at Royal Nails in Tilton (Tanger Outlets). I booked a 2 PM appointment because my usual salon was fully booked, and I needed a new set. When I arrived, everything seemed fine at first, but things quickly went downhill. The technician who worked on me appeared unclean and was coughing and sneezing throughout the appointment without wearing a mask, which made me very uncomfortable. Even more concerning, none of the tools or the station were sanitized before I sat down--there were still visible nail clippings from the previous client. After soaking off my previous set, I was left waiting for 45 minutes to an hour before the technician returned. During the service, they were extremely rough and over-filed my natural nails to the point where they became red and painful. Once the acrylic was applied, I began experiencing a burning and throbbing sensation, and I now have what appears to be a chemical burn on multiple nails. The final result was not what I asked for. While the nails themselves are not terrible, they do not match the reference photo I showed, especially in terms of color and detail. For the price, I expected much closer attention to the design. At the end of the appointment, I was directed to wash my hands using a nail brush that was clearly being reused by multiple clients, with no separation between clean and used brushes. This raised serious hygiene concerns. Overall, this was a very negative experience due to poor hygiene practices, lack of professionalism, and the physical discomfort I am still dealing with. I do not enjoy writing poor reviews, but my experience today was awful and I wanted to share it incase others were considering visiting here. It was my first time at this nail salon and it will most likely be my last. The very first nail that the technician took the dremal to, not even a minute into sitting down, she hit cuticle/skin and it started bleeding. The entire service was not great and she proceeded to: hit my skin with a sharp file, get paint on the side of my finger, not paint the side/edges of my actual nail. When I pointed out the missed spots, she barely covered it over. When I went to pay, I was told "cash only"! There was no sign on the door stating this, nor any type of prewarning before the service. I didn't even want to pay after seeing the finished results, but I walked to an ATM close by, was charged a $3.95 ATM fee, and then walked back to pay them. I never write reviews, but my daughter's experience today with Royal Nails was beyond awful! We walked in without an appointment (none of the employees greeted us). I asked another customer how long they had been waiting and she said approx a half hour. my daughter was so excited to get her nails done as she was paying with her own money she had earned. we sat and watched person after person walk in for pedicures/fills/ mani's go ahead. after an hour wait, a guy approached us and said it would be another 25 minutes. I was frustrated and wanted to leave, but my daughter had her heart set. He tried telling me that all the people who went ahead had appointments, which was a complete lie!!! Against my better judgement, she went forward. We showed the lady (glasses and green apron) a photo of what my daughter wanted and I asked her point blank, can you do this and how much. she said she could do it and $65. I came back to find my daughter so upset that her nails were hideous! She wanted almond nail shape, but got these pointy short upward nails. They don't match - sizes are mismatched. The lady didn't wear gloves and my daughter said she was filing her own nails with the same filer in between doing hers. This is the poorest customer service we've ever had at a nail salon. I asked for long almond nails and ended up with super short pointy ones. The employe did not wear gloves while doing my nails, which is so gross. He also used the same file on me and the people after me. My mother also got her toes and nails done, and her person didn't ask what shape length or color she wanted. There was no communication at all. They accepted a million walk in's and did not give me the person i had requested when i made the call. will not be going back. the waiting room chairs were dirty and the employees were rude. I wish I could give a NO star review. I went there yesterday for a mani/pedi with my niece. I did anticipate it may be busy as it is a holiday weekend, so I called in the morning and scheduled an appointment for the two of us for the evening. They booked me, no problem. I arrived on time (actually a few minutes early) to a completely FULL waiting area. My appointment was scheduled for 4:30, and they did not seat us for our services until 5:20. They sat me next to my niece, and I assumed we would have our pedicures at the same time- nope. I sat with her while she had hers, and they had me soaking my feet waiting. She was done and halfway through her mani when someone came over to me to begin my pedi (at this point the water was room temp...with my feet still in it waiting.) After a very rushed pedicure, I was seated at a station for my mani. I sat there for another 10-12 minutes before that began...that too was very rushed and the "hand massage" part was painful! He kept twisting my pinky outward and it hurt like hell! Fast forward to drying time...I sat at the drying station for 10 minutes and when I realized that it was almost 6:30, and I had a reservation for us across town so I had my niece grab my wallet and pay them so we could leave. The man then SHOUTED at me that I needed to sit down because my nails were not dry. I told him that I had to be somewhere else and I would be very careful (I already paid mind you- so why are you yelling at me!!) I am then halfway to my car when he chases me to the parking lot stating that he forgot my niece got a design on her nail and he undercharged us. I handed him another $20, and off he went. Wow, just wow! You gave her the price and she paid you, and you then chase me to my car for your mistake?! At that point you were in the wrong, you should have just let the $10 go (well actually, it would have been fine but heave forbid they had to eat their tip). So rude, so unprofessional, and my nails look awful (not chipped, smudged etc from lack of drying time- but because he didn't paint them evenly- see photos). Never again will I waste $120 at that place. Horrible service, very unprofessional and quite honestly they weren't very pleasant. Would never recommend to anyone. Stay away- buyer beware!! read more

I was a walk in and requested a manicure and an eyebrow wax. I was seated immediately and the technician was very efficient. I was pleased with my manicure and they did a nice job cleaning up my cuticles. I was then taken to a private room to have my eyebrows waxed. The wax was not very hot but the technician took her time to make sure my eyebrows were shaped properly. They request cash for payment and I would recommend this place. Unfortunately I wasn't with her due to work and my busy schedule the entire wk to get ready for 4th of july I wasn't able to get there to complain during their same work hours so I had my daughter call 3 days later and let them know and they said " we will only re paint them " today was my first day off I could bring her after the 12th day of getting them on , they are all falling off, extremely thick nails that were never filed down at all. Pay ZERO attention to the website. They do NOT take credit or debit cards most likely to avoid taxes. Even though the website says that they do Cash only. You know what they abt Cash Only. They do a great job but any business that's cash only with no "receipt" tells me they are not paying their appropriate taxes .. I would rather pay more and use a credit card or debit card ..esp if I'm on a business trip and I can expense it, and know that the proprietor is paying their fair share to have that business. I really did not enjoy my pedicure here I thought for sure that it would have been $12 or $15 dollars since we didn't spend more than 15 minutes having our pedicure actually done. I assumed (my fault, I understand, that perhaps there was a a cheaper pedicure option as opposed to the $30 spa pedicure) I was stunned when I was told each of our pedicures came to $33.00 each ! They barely soaked our feet, the person performing my service cut my cuticle and it hurt, while the other person working on my friends feet cut her cuticle and there was a bit of blood. They barely tried scrubbing our calluses. They put lotion on our feet, they was no cuticle treatment other than to cut them off, and they barely massaged our legs at all. I was incredibly disappointed in my experience and will not go back here. If it had been just one thing, I may have considered trying them again but not with all they didn't do. I have had many, many pedicures in my life and this was not the very worse as the painting portion came out decently but other than that, not worth it. read more

I am not sure why this place gets bad reviews, it seemed fine when we went. They had 4 techs and they were all full so we had to wait 15-20 minutes but they were courteous and acknowledged us and got to us as soon as they could. The manicure came out great and the price is reasonable. Would give them a zero review if I could. A friend and I decided we would like a pedicure so she went in and asked if they had opening for the both of us, they did and she signed us in. The tech seated us in chairs at the same time and tech did not ask at all what type of pedicure we would like and she just started working on me and basically my friend had to sit with her feet in the water until I was finished. Tech was having a problem with the bubbling water for my chair, so she just shut it off instead of moving me to a different chair. The place I normally go to in Mass gives you a menu and you let them know the type of pedicure you would like. We both had a French pedicure and were unhappy with end result. I had a few ingrown nails and she did not take care of them at all and the polish was not very even and the same for my friend and she had a different tech, and she had a few bubbles in her nails. Also neither one of them were very friendly. My friend lives in the area but had not been in for several years. Basically they do not care about their customers, and it was the fastest pedicure that we both have ever had. Worst gel manicure ever! First she thought that it was a good idea to take the prior nail polish off by just peeling it off... no alcohol or foil. She ripped my thumb nail off and I asked her to do it the right way. My nails came out like trash! Bubbles in the polish. Pooling off the nails and she kept touching the paint and painting over it. Then she decided to file my nails down again at the end when there was new polish on and now the skin is broken around my nails and painful. I almost didn't tip. I have been getting my nails done now for about 20 years. For the past 5 years I have been going to Tina at Royal. Everytime I have left people constantly compliment my nails. She always does a little design on my ring fingers. I also have had pedicures and all I can say is that it is the most relaxing (massage chairs are great) and they take there time.
