I was in town from California for my mom's funeral and wanted a (gel) manicure and pedicure. I felt very rushed. The young girl who did my manicure and pedicure was very sweet, but did not take the time to let the gel cure properly and my polish was peeling off within a few days. I've never had gel polish chip off of my toenails so quickly either.

I wanted a deluxe pedicure, and a children's mani/pedi for her. They told us to come in, just after the hour. We were greeted with a smile and hello, told to pick our color. By the time we had chosen, our pedicure tubs were filling up. The instruments that were used on us came out of an autoclave sanitizer or barbicide. They wore gloves and masks, and the salon was overall in very neat condition. Our nail technicians were polite, and catered to our requests. I wanted a French with glitter, and my daughter wanted glitter and flowers on her big toes. Both came out as requested, and I was happy to leave each girl a nice tip. Vet convenient, in and out in an hour, and $75 for the aforementioned services.

Before the appointment, my mom even sent inspiration photos and explained that my sister has very thick hair. The goal was simply to avoid a heavy, blunt cut that would puff out at the bottom...common concern for thick hair. As the haircut progressed, it started looking like exactly what she had hoped to avoid. My sister politely asked if the finished cut was going to be very blunt at the bottom because she was getting a little nervous. Instead of reassuring her or talking through the plan, the stylist responded rudely and then walked away to speak with her manager. When she returned, she said, "Here's the thing. I'm going to finish what I'm doing and then you're leaving. We're not going to charge you." Imagine hearing that while you're sitting in the chair with a partially completed haircut. My sister was completely caught off guard. She isn't confrontational in the slightest and she immediately began crying. Through tears, she simply asked if someone else could at least finish drying or styling her hair for the event she was preparing for. The answer was no. She was told to leave. She walked out with wet, unfinished hair, got into her car and called my mom, sobbing. No one should leave a salon feeling embarrassed, rejected, or humiliated, especially after asking a reasonable question about their haircut! Waiving the charge does not erase the way someone is treated. Kindness, communication, and professionalism cost nothing. I sincerely hope management reflects on how this situation was handled so no one else has to experience what my sister just did. I'm writing this on behalf of my sister because she's understandably upset and is busy trying to salvage her hair before the event. To make matters worse, she's now left with a haircut that looks nothing like what she requested and exactly what she had expressed concern about during the appointment.

We got spa pedicures, and I kid you not, it was the BEST pedicure massage of my life, and I've had many! Definitely the highlight, also 2 weeks later, no chipping in the polish yet. I see the reviews of rudeness. The gentleman who answers the phone could definitely be less curt, but other than his delivery, I didn't experience any rudeness from the staff. The gals who did our pedicures were lovely and so kind! We even observed an interaction where someone came in asking for a slightly different shade of white than what was painted yesterday and they accommodated her kindly. The only reason for 4 stars is the airflow/smell. We walked in and were hit with the strong chemical smell of nail polish, remover, etc and thought surely my nose would acclimate but it never did. Sensitive noses beware. I'd be afraid to be pregnant here with the fumes. Better airflow needed!
