We hired Regal for a full front-and-backyard renovation and are very happy with how it all turned…read moreout! Working with Joseph was seamless--he was extremely organized and communicative throughout the whole process. He's the whole reason we chose Regal instead of the other quotes we got and he really came through on everything we wanted while also giving us his valuable opinion. It was a decent-sized scope: we pulled out a row of old overgrown bougainvillea (stumps, roots and all), demolished a concrete slab by the garage, added a new flagstone pathway and patio, decomposed granite replaced an entire lawn, mulch and decorative pebble in the front yard, a long podocarpus privacy hedge, full drip irrigation conversion with smart timers, and landscape lighting in the front and back. They even installed our new fire pit for us. Joseph walked the property with us, gave real opinions about what would and wouldn't work instead of just saying yes to everything, and stayed reachable by text the whole way through. His invoice was also the most detailed quote we got, which gave us a lot of confidence that the details would be handled when we got through When we changed our minds on a couple of details mid-project, he handled it easily. The crew was punctual, careful around the existing trees and hardscape, and swept up at the end of every day. Fair price, clean work, and genuinely good people to deal with. We'd hire Joseph and Regal again without hesitation. They also finished well ahead of schedule which let us enjoy the yard for enough time before some upcoming travel plans.

This review is way overdue, but better late than never…read more Vitoli redid our entire backyard, soup to nuts in 2022. This involved: adding a pool, putting in long retaining and block walls, completely rebuilding a cement deck and rails, adding drainage and irrigation, new pavers, grass and landscaping, and putting in a large pergola. Rob, Kyle, Oz, Gabi and everyone on the construction teams did an amazing job. Even before we settled on a builder, Vitoli stood out because everyone was upfront about what's possible, helped steer us away from our own bad ideas, and we appreciated their core expertise on outdoor landscaping/hardscaping/pool projects. Vitoli expertly managed to work with the various curveballs the city threw our way, and set our expectations appropriately. When construction started, everyone communicated effectively, and it really felt like a team effort when we would aim to solve some problem or adjust course because something unexpected came up (which is only inevitable on a large project). Proper drainage was extremely important to me, as the backyard had no drainage to speak of -- Rob and team were even more obsessive about this than me, and the results speak for themselves as the backyard had zero water issues after the extreme rainfall we had a few months ago. The thing I really appreciate about working with Vitoli is that they care about creating a long term relationship via mutual understanding and respect. One thing I dreaded before starting a project this size is having to argue with my builder over every little thing. I was happy that I didn't have to do any of that with Vitoli. We've been enjoying our new backyard - it's incredible how much of a change it is, how much the kids love the pool, and how many memories we can make with friends and family over an outdoor dinner. Subsequent to our backyard project, Vitoli was very helpful in quickly and efficiently fixing an drainage issue near the side of our house surfaced by the rains this season (unrelated to any backyard work Vitoli did previously). We look forward to working with Vitoli on future projects!

If you know this area, you know how critical this work is... beyond curb appeal, proper brush clearance could be the difference between survival and destruction of our house and our community. Jose re-established our defensible space by trimming the canopy and hauling out a MASSIVE amount combustible material. The work was exemplary. Every detail we asked for was done with care and attention. We especially appreciated that the tree trimming was handled with an eye to aesthetics as well as safety. Not only that, The Gardener has very fair pricing! After so many disappointing experiences with other gardeners, we are glad to have found THE Gardener - a well-deserved moniker, indeed.
