An awesome experience with MJO. I called to talk to him before he came. Shared a quote someone else has given me to fix a problem. He was very direct and said that it was a crazy quote. He came out to our house and crushed the job. Super fast great work solved the problem. Literally cost 1/3 what my other quote was. And he was lovely and an expert in every way. 100% hire MJO if you've a sprinkler thing. read more

It is so refreshing to have someone who is responsive, fair, honest, reliable, and on top of it all, does an absolutely wonderful job. I contacted Michael via email and within an hour, we had scheduled an appointment and he was going to be here the following day. I was having difficulty with my sprinklers and the automatic timing system (full system around my entire home. Michael came in (was early), was friendly, professional, fixed everything (and made it even better than it originally was) and took the time to really inspect/adjust each sprinkler and then teach me how to use it all. I highly, HIGHLY recommend Michael. (My three year old loves him and wants him to come back). read more

Our plumber recommended this company to us and Michael has been to our house twice to fix different issues with the sprinklers. Our sprinkler system sounded like a railroad train and turns out a valve needed replacement. He was able to come within a couple of days of our call and had the part with him, so he was in and out pretty quickly. His price was reasonable, most of it was for the part. No drama, highly recommended. read more

I was thrilled when Michael returned my call. So rare! He also showed up when he said he would and provided a reasonable estimate to boot! He came today and did all the repairs and the bill was less than the estimate. This guy is a unicorn' read more

I generally reserve my reviews for only those contractors who have given me 5-star service. And with a 100-year old house, I have hired a lot of contractors over the years. Michael is one of those 5-star guys. I had leaky sprinkler valves which needed to be replaced, broken sprinkler heads and drip hoses, and a broken underground water pipe (which, unlike anyone else, he was able to locate). Three other contractors had tried to work on these issues and each either fell short or left another problem behind. Michael fixed everything in short order. He was a pleasure to work with and reasonably priced. I would recommend him without any hesitation. read more

I've used Micheal twice in the past 5 years maybe. He's responsive, responsible and professional. He'll get it done right,

Michael is GREAT!!!! So honest! Knows is stuff!!!

Thorough and quality work from a nice person and good communicator. After a pipe burst, they laid new copper pipe. They also reworked and redirected the sprinklers as needed. As with good people, he's busy so there was a long wait for the appointment, but he was on time and did the job efficiently and didn't rush us through our questions. Great experience. read more

We are so glad we found Michael! He is extremely responsive and reliable. He knows what he's doing and helped us identify when LADWP overcharged us and the steps to correct it. Every time we've needed help with our sprinkler system he's available within a few days. Highly recommend him. read more

Mike was responsive and knowledgeable. He showed up when he said he would, provided a fair estimate and completed the work in a timely fashion. He did not try to upsell us. In fact, his final bill was slightly less than his estimate. I wouldn't hesitate to use him again and would recommend him to family and friends. read more

Michael is very professional and can get gob done as he committed. I had a rental property. My tenants reported two zones of my sprinkler system didn't work. I sent two technicians, but neither of them could identify the root cause through inspection. While Michael fixed the problem by just one visit with lower cost than estimated by the other two technicians. I really like his expertise and commitment. He will be my first choice when I encounter other similar issues read more

I contacted Michael about a week ago and he was incredibly responsive. I explained that the work I needed was probably rather minimal and wasn't sure it would be a good fit. None the less, he was happy to schedule an appointment to come out and take a look. He showed up on time, and was so incredibly knowledgeable and thorough with his evaluation and explanation. He's a true pro and spent a generous amount of time reviewing not only my irrigation needs but how I could save water in other ways and also how to best care for my lawn. There is a vast difference between Michael's expertise and the "gardeners" I've shelled out several hundreds of dollars to, only to receive inferior, ineffective and incomplete results. All that to say, Michael came out this morning, in the rain, and completed the job. He also charged significantly less than the original estimate claiming it was less work than he expected. When has that ever happened? I'm delighted that I now have a pro that I can rely on for large and small jobs alike as well as maintenance which is so very important. Thrilled to have Michael O'Connor in my contacts. and so grateful that I finally have an expert to help with all of my irrigation needs. read more

I was looking for a landscaper to replace our old rusted leaking irrigation pipes, and I am very happy that I found Mike. He was professional, organized, came as scheduled, completed the project on time, and I can tell that he is a well experienced expert specialist. I would highly recommend Mike. read more

Very pleased with Michael O'Connor and he will be our "go to" from now on for any sprinkler problems. He is polite, courteous, and does good work at a fair price. Gardeners may be great at keeping up the yard nice and many of them say that they can fix sprinkler problems, but these fixes are often less than satisfactory. Michael is a true professional and a licensed contractor. His final charge was under his original estimate; he could have just gone with what he told us and we wouldn't have known anything different. Highly recommended. read more

I've used the services of O'Connor for two homes now and highly recommend them! Most recently, we had an issue with an irrigation leak on our newly purchase home. As always, Michael and his team were prompt and thorough in resolving the problem as well as inspecting the entire system and making additional (and creative) adjustments to other parts of our system. We are VERY happy with the results! One of the things that impresses me most about Michael is his integrity and unwillingness to compromise on the quality of parts that he installs in his systems. While other companies may use very cheap plastic components, he is more concerned about the long-term life of the system and only uses high quality brass parts for key areas. You may pay a little bit more upfront for this quality, but you can be reassured that you're not having to call him back in a year to fix a broken plastic piece! I highly recommend Michael and his team without any reservation. They are fantastic! read more

Mike checked all my sprinklers, adjusted and replaced as needed. And gave some great advice re timing, etc.

I'm not a fan. Came to fix a leaking valve and then told me that I needed two additional new valves, which I did NOT! Charged me $340 for 2 addional valves which should have cost me 65. each. And charged me a hefty service charge on top of that. Took the lion's share of my sprinkler job and didn't deal with the rest of the system, which required attention and to the fact that he aimed one of the heads at my front door. My bill came to $520. RIPPED ME ROYALLY! read more

We needed a new sprinkler system controller and repair on our system, which had three leaks and bad valves. Michael was a great find (referred by a plumber). We will be using him for all our sprinkler needs. His prices are very reasonable, and he is courteous, honest and knows his stuff. read more

Doesn't get any better. Showed up early for his appointment. (That is a first for me) I wasn't home from work yet and he already got to work. He did an AMAZING job!! Personable, professional, reasonable and doesn't try to make a buck off of you. HIGHLY recommended for sprinkler repair! read more

Called because I had a faulty sprinkler that was installed by an amature (me). He came out, assessed the situation, tested the water supply and the electrical connections, and in less than an hour, he had the system back up and running. While I called him just for one valve, he took the time to check out the entire system, (adjusting sprinkler spray heads, cleaning out clogged sprinklers, and re-connecting a loose wire to another valve. He's a true professional who knows his business, and, he's a nice guy to. Thanks Mike. Regards, Dennis read more

We're always happy to find and be able to recommend a licensed contractor, who is conscientous and likes and knows his trade. We thank the certified arborist who referred us to Michael O' Connor. This week, Michael brought us into this century by converting our manually- operated sprinkler system to an automatic one. In addition, he added supplemental sprinkler heads and changed the existing pressure regulator's setting to get more efficient and better coverage, so there is no water waste and our pre- existing problem of sprinkler water hitting the house and windows was eliminated. Michael understands different plants and trees' water needs and based on his honesty, he was able to tweak the use of existing valves so charged us $250 less than the contract estimated. It's such a pleasure and a relief to have found an honest, licensed landscape contractor who is very knowledgeable, explains everything clearly , is pleasant, and does the work himself with a helper. read more

I was redoing my backyard & needed to have my sprinkler system changed. I found Michael on the internet. He came out surveyed my situation & said no problem. The day arrived & they arrived early. he solved ALL my sprinkler problems & was able to solve 2 other problems in the front yard, that the old gardener could not fix. I highly recommend Michael & I will use him anytime in the future. tom bronson read more

After Michael gave me a very good quote, he said he was available a month later and we scheduled the appt. My trees were dying in the 111 degree weather, but he was busy. I had a family death and had to cancel that appt. After this, I called and left messages to reschedule at least 8 times, talking with his mother several times (who said she didn't understand why Michael hadn't called me back). I never heard back from him. I even sent a postcard to his address, begging him to call me because my trees were in such bad shape. My only guess is that my job was too small for him. I did finally leave a message threatening to write this review. Never heard from him. I have several neighbors who loved him, and also several who had the same experience I did. read more

Michael of O'Connor Lawn and Sprinklers is very knowledgable, reliable and trustworthy. Our sprinklers in our new home were installed improperly. We had it "fixed" by another company and still had issues. We then found Michael through word of mouth, and couldn't be more pleased. He's efficient and professional. What's even better is he's competitively priced. read more
