We waited forever to get seated, then after ten minutes at the table with zero attention we saw open seats at the bar and Gilbert was a star. However, if the people that own Hash House tasted the food coming out, they would shut this place down. We have been blessed to eat at the San Diego location many times. The chicken and waffles there are amazing- JUICY chicken, perfectly fried, with crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside waffles. The chicken here is so dry- it was fried hours ago and then dried out completely under lamps. It's really a shame. Please don't let the other Hash House locations degrade to this level!!!

Two visits during our stay for the Star Trek Convention...one better than the other. Service was good all around, and we only had a brief 20 minute wait for a table for Saturday morning. $23 Corned Beef Hash Skillet...generous slices of corned beef onto of delightfully crispy potatoes, with two eggs your style. Flavorful and filling, priced nicely for Las Vegas. There's a veggie version as well which the wife enjoyed. $20 Big Breakfast Burrito...disappointing compared to above! The burrito is average sized, but tasted pretty good overall. Only came with a side of chips. Get a Hash Skillet instead. $17 Hash Cobb Salad...pretty good salad overall, it's huge! Had bacon, but no other protein, chicken is an extra $8.

Popped in for Restaurant Week and was not disappointed! It felt like an old Vegas steakhouse, but…read morewith a phenomenal view. I sat at the bar solo, and Suzana was extremely knowledgeable and welcoming. She made one of the better Americano cocktails I've had. They brought out bread right after ordering and I'm always a sucker for good bread. My first course was Esther's Caesar, which was a unique, and balanced Caesar salad. For the main course, I got the 8oz Venison Backstrap from New Zealand, which was cooked to perfection. It came with Chimichurri and a roasted cabbage. For the side, I ordered the Radiatore Alla Vodka and it is a James Trees staple. For dessert, I got the Hummingbird Cake, but I was already full so I could only finish the Butter Pecan Ice Cream and half the cake. However, it was decadent. I was told they're extending their restaurant week until the 19th of June. I paid $90 for all of that (minus the drink of course). Will be back to try more menu items. Might even go back again before the 19th! Great spot for locals and visitors, alike.

The interior itself is beautiful, though--lots of muted greens and a warm, modern atmosphere. Service was excellent. Our server was attentive without hovering, and our water glasses never sat empty. The meal started with a small loaf of dill bread and mustard butter. I enjoy mustard, but this butter was extremely strong--more like spreading coarse mustard straight onto the bread. Once we asked for plain butter, the bread really shined. For appetizers, we ordered the bacon and the Cobb salad. The bacon was delicious--more like a well-prepared pork belly--and not overly sweet. The Cobb salad, however, missed the mark. It had an unexpected sweetness, the blue cheese was barely noticeable, and the overall flavor profile just didn't feel like a true Cobb. The confit tomatoes were the highlight. I wouldn't order the salad again, but I'd happily get the bacon. For mains, we chose the smoked prime rib and the flat iron steak. The prime rib had fantastic smoky flavor and was nicely trimmed, but it was surprisingly tough--difficult to cut and chewy, which is not what you expect from prime rib. The flat iron was adequate, and the roasted garlic helped elevate it. The scalloped potatoes were a bit odd in flavor, but the French fries were excellent. Dessert was a high point. We tried the piecaken and the hummingbird cake which was served with an outstanding butter pecan ice cream. To top it off, they brought us each a small champagne to celebrate our anniversary, which was a thoughtful touch. Overall, the service and ambiance were lovely, and there were some standout items, but the food was inconsistent. Some dishes impressed, while others fell short of expectations--especially for a special occasion.
