First time trying Ely's for breakfast. Walking in, we were greeted and seated immediately. For a Saturday morning, the restaurant wasn't very crowded. We always come to this restaurant because the food is great, which is why this experience was so disappointing. Unfortunately, they seemed very understaffed, and our waitress, Jennifer, was extremely rude to us. She actually got into an argument with our table because we weren't ready to order, even though she had just seated us and we were still looking over the menu. We were all completely shocked by the way she spoke to us. The supervisor did apologize afterward, which we appreciated and made the situation somewhat better. The place was clean and customer service was good. Food was a good serving. I came from a Hispanic family of good cooks with high expectations . so I would say the food was just OK. Menudo was probably the best part. We also ordered spinach and cheese omelette that came with potatoes and pancakes. Much food for only $13 but the pancake didn't have much flavor. We wanted a place to go to for brunch and my husband has not visited the spot yet. He suggested we come by and he had the pozole, which he loved. I opted for the special with 2 eggs, bacon, potatoes, and choice of a sweet side which for me was the Nutella French toast. It's more of a casual spot with a lot Hispanic folks coming through, since they do have Mexican food dishes. We decided to try this place for my sons birthday. We were not 100% sure where it was and if it was a restaurant or a pick up place. We had a larger group and I tried to call to see if reservations were needed. I was unable to reach anyone. We were happily surprised it is a sit down restaurant ( some of the yelp pics are deceiving) We came on a Sunday and were seated within 5 minutes. They have a huge selection of different pancakes and Chilaquiles. My son!! ordered the cinnamon roll pancakes and they were probably some of the best pancakes I've ever had. First time here as it's down the street from our Vegas home and it was truly amazing! Service is impeccable! They have a huge menu that is great for all nutrition values and cravings! Loved this place. I've been searching for some good menudo and they came through. It was delicious. No hominy but good flavors. The eggs benny was also very good the sauce amazing. Large order of enchiladas also. The service was outstanding and we will be back. So many menu choices to choose from mad they all peeled food. The restaurant is very beautiful and the staff is super friendly. We came for breakfast yesterday. For a Sunday at 10am it was busy but not overwhelming. We have never been to any of the locations they have and decided to try a new place. We order the chicken fried steak skillet, the eggs in green salsa, green chilaquiles asada bowl, cinnamon roll pancakes and the gansito pancakes. The menu is large but selection is good. Sadly the food did not standout at all. The pancakes had a very doughy almost yeasty flavor and they were very chewy. The flavor was somewhat there but the pancakes felt over mixed and it made for a tough pancake. The gansito pancake was blank with some dry pieces of gansito thrown in there, cinnamon rolls pancakes were a little better but like I mentioned very tough. The chilaquiles were ok, flavor of the salsa was tasty and spicy but nothing special, the asada had a good flavor. The eggs in green salsa had a very sour salsa and the cheese was not good at all. The rice and beans were bland. The chicken fried steak skillet was definitely a never order again. It lacked flavor and the potatoes were dry. There are many other places that have similar food but much more flavorful. The service was possibly 3/5 stars, they brought food out and that was about it. They don't check on us or ask us anything until we asked for the bill. Great to try maybe once more but definitely not on the list of places to go. read more
