Obviously this proved very popular and the weather held out! This pub has a real village feel. Very friendly people and the bar staff don't bite either. On this visit it was so packed that the landlord told me they were going through a barrel of Real ale every hour! They have a sizeable garden with those gas heaters that help global warming! The yorkshires were overcooked, bordering on burnt. The lamb shanks were also overcooked. Fish and chips had more batter than fish and was unsatisfactory. There was no drinks list. My daughter had booked well in advance but the table was not prepared. Later she asked to use a knife to cut the cake she had made but the one offered was too dirty to use. A visit to the toilet had a seat that was not bolted down and a cistern that did not flush, most unsanitary. The staff were all young and in need of more training. This is the first time I have felt the need to comment on a restaurant.

When you walk in you're immediately greeted by staff to order a drink at the bar and be served at the table. I ordered the beef chilli nachos and my husband had the Philly Cheesesteak with chilli fries. We were completely satisfied with our meals which were tasty and quite filling. Staff are friendly and courteous, couldn't fault them with our dining experience. Absolutely recommend this place which offers good food and great service at a decent price.

With the new menu we thought we'd give them another chance and glad we did! We had a roast yesterday and it was delicious - lots of vegetables, loads of meat and a nice option for my vegetarian husband. We shared a pudding (brownie and honeycombe ice cream) and it was one of the nicest things ever! I wanted another one immediately but controlled myself :) Lovely staff and good table service. Families happily use this pub. The food is ok. I have eaten better pub food. The square plates annoyed me! This pub likes its Real ale and keeps it well. There is also cider available. Usually 3 to purchase. The pub caters for functions such has private parties and weddings. There is live music n every two weeks. Quiz nights and Karoke can be found here. The commentary by the bartenders about the 90s / early 2000s throwback music was humorous However, probably the most tasteless fish and chips I have ever eaten. It was strange as it was cooked beautifully. The fry on it was perfection with just the right amount of grease so it was not soggy... and crisp without being crunchy. I really thought it was going to be magical, but even stateside I have had better. Such a shame. Portions were large as well. A friend told me I had somehow managed to find the poshest fish and chips in England. I just wish it had tasted good.

With the saloon bar for pub quizzes and general local shenanigans and the sports bar for everything else. The sports bar has pool, darts, the itbox and a mahussive television for sporting events and with plenty of seating in and around for those watching or just wanting to be in a more lively pub. The saloon bar is generally a relaxing place to chill and most of the regulars sit in here so they can chat to others. The garden is very big and used to have a great climbing frame for kids which has sadly been taken down but still great for the summer time.
