This place has declined since it was sold. The waiter was clueless about the menu options and had to be reminded even though I didn't work there. The food was bland and lacked flavor, ruining the experience. When the food arrived, they forgot to get my rice, which took about five minutes to find someone to get it. But there's a little sign by the register that says prices are not reflected in the menu and may be different. I'll say they're different. Order what you want eat what you get kind of place. I stopped going here because of this, I ordered chicken fingers and got chicken wings. I asked them to deliver the correct food and they accused me of not ordering correctly then wanted the misdelivered food back. Also said it might be 3 hours before the correct order could be delivered. I declined and took the food back to the restaurant. I asked for a refund and they wanted to give me a gift card or voucher for "next time" I also refused this and told them there wouldn't be a next time and I wanted my money back now! I have to agree with John R. LOVE it for what it is an old fashion American Chinese food restaurant the last of the local places that is actually still good. The decor itself hasn't changed in 30+ years but a good atmosphere, bar flys and locals. The food actually has improved in the last few years and the Chinese cocktails are always good. Love it...for what it is...old fashioned "American Chinese food". Dark brown pork fried rice. Chicken fingers and pan friend soft noodles they way they should be...thin and flat...like mini mini udon...not round like lo-mein/spaghetti. We ordered the dinner combo platters: he had the beef with broccoli with fried rice & teriyaki steak skewers and I had the egg foo young, fried rice & egg roll. Everything was served piping hot and it the food was decent. We were served bread and butter in the beginning- that was a first for me at a Chinese restaurant- but the bread was fresh & hot, so that was okay. I ordered food from their online website and menu. Total of what I ordered came to $80 plus tax. When I went to pick it up they told me that it was $99.40. I told the man that I ordered it online and use the prices that they had on there. He told me that I'm wrong that the price is 99.40. I told him again that that is not what his website says. He would not budge and I had to pay it as it was Christmas day. When I got to my daughters with the food we took it all out into our dismay the beef on a stick was all charcoal burnt black. Read the reviews and took a chance. What a mistake. The hot & sour soup was cold and flavorless. The pepper steak and fried rice tasted like it had been reheated several times before being served. The pepper steak sat in a gelatinous "sauce" that tasted burned. The pork fried rice was just a lump of something somewhat resembling fried rice. First and last time here. Live and learn. Maybe the food tastes good when it's hot and fresh, but the major issue with this restaurant, from my experience of their delivery, is that the food arrives hours late and it is cold. I ordered online last New Year's Eve. According to the website my food would arrive at 5 PM. When our food was 30 minutes late I called. I was told that when I place an order online I also need to call to let them know. I thought the problem was fixed and I was told my food would arrive at 6:30 pm. It was close to 9 PM when my doorbell rang. The food was stone cold. I live four minutes from the restaurant.
