Good service. Got what I expect to get in a strip mall building for a Chinese buffet. No different than what I find anywhere else we travel. Bathrooms were clean that was nice. Nothing spectacular but not terrible either and they had a steady flow of customers. People were nice food was hot and replenished. Good on drink refills. Typical American/Chinese fare, overall it was a good experience, but I'm not one to complain unless it's absolutely awful. Was it a little greasy well I thought that's what I should expect it usually is. But not all of it was. Good teriyaki chicken on a stick. Eggs rolls well yeah. Soup was good too. Food was old, not tasty. Dirty place and very suspect on how the local health dept. would even allow it to stay open. The initial server (teenage boy) simply said, 'What to drink?' Satisfactory variety of Chinese and American standards at a terrific price summarizes Royal Garden. This is not a mega buffet. There's no hibachi grill. A third--perhaps half--of the food items are American: fried chicken, cooked potatoes, iceberg lettuce salad, fried catfish (albeit, labeled as "salmon"), French fries, apple pie, etc. Other options are standard Chinese or their Americanized versions. Chicken dominates with just a few meat, veggie, and seafood selections. Fried chicken, General Tao's chicken, pepper chicken, Thai chicken, sesame chicken, chicken with broccoli--these are just a few of the available chicken selections. At well past noon on a Friday staff kept the food trays refreshed and most items looked inviting. Except for a couple of sushi rolls that looked tired and tasted old my food was fresh and tasty. With a cola, tax and tip the buffet was $10. You can easily pay that much for fast food that isn't fast nor tastes like food. read more

The buffet had some good food but mostly bad... It reminded us of frozen food that was heated up. The sushi was basically rice and seaweed with sauce. The service was very minimal, our water was never refilled. The restaurant atmosphere wasn't great either, but the folded paper decorations were very cool. read more

Ok I'm an out-of-towner and was craving Chinese. We were really hungry because we skipped breakfast and decided we'd see if there was a decent buffet so we could get our fill. We found this place here on Yelp and it did not disappoint at all. Everything was good and hot that I tried. I ate hot & sour soup, crab puffs, egg rolls, jalapeño chicken, general tsaos chicken, and a slice of garlic toast. Nice layout on the buffet, with soups, numerous chicken, beef, and seafood entrees, delicious side dishes, and an extensive dessert selection. The staff has a little trouble communicating, sometimes, but the owner/ hostess helps out, and creates a pleasant experience. Good food, good prices. read more

If you like fatty, fried buffets, then this restaurant is for you. When my sister suggested Chinese, I was ok with the idea. I'm trying to eat healthier, so I imagined a plate of steamed vegetables or something similar. Unfortunately, when we stepped into the restaurant, it was nothing but buffet, and there was not a single healthy item there (unless you count iceberg lettuce or sushi that had been sitting out all day - yuck!). For vegetarians, there are very limited options. You'll be eating white rice, french fries, and ice cream. Sure, those are delicious foods, but hardly a satisfying meal for 8.95. I caved, because my sister wanted to eat there. The food was standard, American/Chinese cuisine - chicken fingers, pizza, sesame chicken, wontons, etc. It was *okay* at best. I go to this place every time I am in Hannibal, usually more than once. I am responding to the previous post about not having anything there but fried foods and meat items. Everytime I have gone, there has been veggie dishes, non fried dishes, fish dishes, soups, boiled shrimp and (fresh) sushi and certain nights, crab legs. They replenish the buffett quickly and often, keep hot foods hot and cold foods on ice. Nice wait staff, too. read more

Don't eat here unless you want old gross cold food. We ate here for dinner last night and paid $22 for glass of tea and a two boiled eggs my son ate. The food me and my husband got was not edible. It tasted like it had been sitting out all day. The staff could tell that we were not happy and instead of trying to solve the problem they tossed the check on the table and then rolled their eyes when we thank them for the disgusting food. My family loves to eat here. Our daughter is a picky eater (as is my husband) and my son likes all kinds of foods (like his Momma) so there is something on the large buffet for every member of my household. The food is always hot and fresh (except what is supposed to be cold lol). This is always our go to place. =) read more

Great food great price. They have lots of options and it's a great way to try new foods. The buffet option is nice, especially if you have have trouble remembering the names of your favorite dishes. I really love their shrimp but it's only out at dinner and not lunch. Like most buffets, timing is important. This is the nicest chinese place in Hannibal and by far the best .The food is good and the service is too.I love going there for supper all you can eat crab legs .That's my fav and my youngest daughters too.They have a wide variety of food .Things for kids too not just chinese .This place is always full what else can I say.Would miss it if it were gone . read more

The Royal Garden Buffet embodies all the glory of the Americanized Chinese buffet that one might expect. On initial entry, I was slightly disappointed with the lack of green tinted lighting behind the pictures that adorned the walls, but the shadow boxes with Buddha statues filled that void. The buffet contains sufficient food supply for a group of 15-20 Hannibal locals, and approximately 40-50 city slickers passing through. The chicken nuggets were top notch- likely fresh imports from the McDonald's down the street. The pizza appeared to be a giant Bagel Bite sliced into pizza shapes, but was still tasty. All the Asian dishes were excellent. I especially recommend the slightly hardened exterior of the jello. It would be incomplete if I did not admit to multiple flatulences escaping my anal cavities mid-meal, but that can only be expected at this type of buffet. The smell was not pleasant but remained bearable for those dining near by. Excretion of the meal occurred an hour later than my average digestion time, but that is also expected. The feces was a solid 8/10 in terms of firmness and retained its usual color. Overall, a great experience. Would recommend. read more
