Shitty store. Shitty manager. Bugs and flies everywhere. Accused my friend of stealing when he literally payed with apple cash. Talked back to mother and started arguing in front of kid. When i had to pee and went to bathroom i couldn't because there was poop on the walls including the sink. Puddles on the ground looked a little yellow but couldn't tell. The worker making sandwiches was good but the manager still yelled at him. Chill guy. The food was pretty bad probably sat out for 5 months. Love you bye. read more

I had to go out of town for work to the Delaware shores. Coming from DC in that direction there really isn't a quick way to go with a bay in your way. By doing so you go through some very rural areas that has very sparse commercial areas. I was really in need of the facilities as I was nearing my bursting point and I had not seen a spot to stop for some time. A quick search via GPS shown that this was coming up on the road I was on. I was pleasantly surprised and delighted and made it my next stop on my travels to here. Pulling up to the intersection that this establishment sit felt a bit dystopian. Your driving through farm fields and then all the sudden you see a behemoth of a gas station. A rundown, very busy gas station. This gas station felt like it was the only one for miles around (and quite possibly could have been). Regular fuel is available, but be mindful in the lot as they also offer diesel which means heavy truck traffic in the lot as well. I wasn't here for fuel, I was here for a pit stop of my own. I went inside and headed towards the restrooms and to my surprise there was a line for the men's room. I guess everyone has the idea to stop here while travelling these roads. The hold up was that the one toilet was out of toilet paper and it had to be changed in order for the person holding up the line to use it, and we had to wait for the female employee to change it out. Along with the one toilet there was a urinal. Once that was changed out the line started moving. After using the facilities I came out into the store to browse around for a few things. It was so dim in here like this location had been standing for years and years. It felt almost like it was another gas station before becoming a Royal Farms. I made a few selections and went to the register. I hate that in any RF you go to you feel like you are imposing on them when you need an item from behind the counter. That's exactly what I had to do here. I had to interrupt a conversation to get the item I wanted. And I was still forced to use the self checkouts. For the amount of items that I grabbed I thought I would have automatically gotten a bag, but had ask for one. I was happy to leave this area once I was done. I did pass it on my way back to DC, but I made sure to skip it that time. read more

It's rare I write a bad review because I hate doing so but today it's warranted. Royal Farms used to have the most incredible fried chicken. But this is the third time that I have been totally disappointed in it since 2020 and I'm done buying it until I see an announcement from Royal Farms that they are back to the old recipe or way of cooking it. At 11:30 AM when the chicken should be good due to lunchtime, it was not. The chicken was hard on the outside and dry on the inside. The breading is much crisper and it has much more spice in the flour. I know I'm not the only one who feels this way because I've seen comments on the web about it and people I know have stopped buying it. PLEASE BRING BACK THE OLD RECIPE. Add to the frustration of this visit to this particular location at least four times since March, they have one cashier to ring out what is almost always 10 people in line at lunchtime. And since there was problems with all the self check out that particular cashier couldn't check anybody out because she was fixing the other machines. So self checkouts did me in again here. I get cost savings because I've worked in corporate America over 30 years, but this is ridiculous to have to stand in line 10 to 15 minutes to check out Two items. And by the way this is the 3rd time I've thrown out RF chicken because it was inedible. So it's off to try another Royal Farms Next time I'm in lower Delaware or Maryland. But I'm not getting the chicken. read more

We had a fine experience while en route back to Philly at this particular Ro-Fo. Needed a bathroom - presto! Not too dirty (not super clean either). We needed gas - presto! We wanted some cold beverages (with the "chewy ice" from the fountain)... Again - PRESTO! Self-service check-out with one guy monitoring 3 or 4 self check-out POS's. No issues. No problem! read more

For a fairly new building this place was a dump when I passed through here last Tuesday (7/5/22). The building needed a serious hosing down with a fire hose from all the people traffic. They were out of things like cups on an soda fountain etc. Garbage cans were full, etc. Staff couldn't have cared less, they were working but weren't very talkative when inquiring. I filled my tank and ended up grabbing a spicy 3 piece chicken tender combo with some potato wedges from the deli while there. The tenders were good, and had a little kick in the after taste. The wedges were good as well. So at least the deli was on point. read more

The most disgusting and filthy location I've been to of their service line. Visit was on 5/13/23. The bathroom was littered with dead flys. Toilet paper all over the floor. Both toilets clogged. NO SOAP! The coffee station was a mess, empty bottles in the creamer cooler. Spilt substances all over counter, no stocked lids. The all 5 coffee grinders stated they needed maintenance and to be cleaned. Touch screens were all filthy. Coffee poured slow. Tasted awful, like the machines haven't been cleaned since they first opened. The soda dispenser had no cups just a stack sitting on the red sticky substance counter. Chicken was not stocked. What was there resembled beef jerky. Self- Check out was covered in some type of goo. Disgusting. Will not return. read more

Gas was cheap!! Well, that's also because we live in Pennsylvania and it's just a lot more there. We filled up before the trip home after a week in Rehoboth. We all used the restroom and no major complaints here. In general the RF just needed a general cleaning. Floors were dark, restrooms needed wiping down. Weren't horrible but looked like an older location maybe? Good quick stop. They do have food, snacks and drinks ... but we'd just eaten lunch so didn't get anything. read more

So my review is mainly just on the cleanliness of the food area. I have no complaints on service or speed of service. However what grossed me out was the number of flies in the food area. Just looking around the counters and walls I would say there were at least 20 flies around. I understand a couple but 20 is a little extreme. I've been to many other royal farms and didn't notice this issue so I think it is this one in particular. But still....gross read more

Dirty, dirty, dirty. If I feel afraid to touch anything in the bathroom I sure as you know what won't eat anything from their kitchen.

Not far physically but, SO much further ahead in every aspect from Milford! The food is 80% better, the customer service is 95% better, the place is cleaner. It's amazing how much nicer Ellendale is than Milford! I'll actually drive the extra 10-15 minutes to Ellendale just to avoid the nasty food and service at Milford. Thank you to the employees at Ellendale for fantastic service! The prices for the deli food are still far too high for the quality but, at least the quality at Ellendale far surpasses that at Milford! read more

I just recently moved to the Lincoln area and this is the closest RoFo to me. We used to live by an amazing royal farms and go there weekly for hot food. However, since we moved here we do not go to this royal farms. It lacks cleanliness, and we have only bought meals there 2-3 times and each time we all get really sick. Possible food poisoning. DO NOT GO TO ELLEDALE ROYAL FARMS. Go to a better royal farms 6 more miles. read more

This is my first Yelp review - I am doing it because I just had the worst experience ever with this Royal Farms . The clerk was rude and the most useless employee I have ever dealt with (after standing in line waiting for about ten minutes). I live in this area and I will never stop here again and I will ensure my employees do not use this station either. read more

Do yourself a favor and drive the extra few miles to WAWA. Overall I shop at Royal farms a lot but this store has rude people working behind the deli counter consistently. Last time i was there I was actually shorted on food and when i questioned it they said they were out but were going to let me walk out without telling me and acted like it was my fault when i asked for a substitution or money back.
