The meat was extremely fatty, rubbery, and so chewy that it literally had to be spit out. And the taste? The only way I can describe it is that it tasted like armpits. Absolutely awful. We immediately told our waitress. We weren't trying to get a free meal. We simply asked if we could order a different entrée because the food was genuinely inedible. Instead of taking care of a very simple customer-service issue, our waitress took the food to the back to speak with the manager. Eventually, our exact same plate of food (20 minutes later) was brought back to us cold and we were told there was nothing they could do. We then asked to speak directly with the manager of Mandarin Garden. The manager never came to our table. Not once. Instead, other employees were repeatedly sent out to argue with us while the manager remained in the back. The final response? We were told we had to pay for the entrée we had each taken ONE bite of or they would call the police. Seriously. We weren't refusing to pay for a meal we'd eaten. We hadn't eaten it. We immediately reported the problem and offered to order and pay for another entrée. We simply didn't believe we should be charged for food that was returned after two bites because of its taste, texture, and quality. What could have been solved in about 30 seconds with, "I'm sorry you didn't like it. Let's get you something else," turned into one of the worst 1-hour restaurant customer-service experiences I've had. Bad food can happen at any restaurant. How a restaurant handles it is what matters.i encourage you to read the other 1-star reviews before eating here. The food was bad enough. The complete lack of customer service and a manager who wouldn't even come out and speak with his customers made the experience considerably worse. There are plenty of places to eat in Logan, Utah. After this experience, Mandarin Garden will not be one I'll return to or recommend.

I've been to Royal Express several times, and it's one of my favorite restaurants in Logan. The food is a great price, with large portions in the all-day-specials (which is what we always do), the people are really nice, and the food has consistently been pretty good. Definitely not a place to go for high-end cuisine, but it's a fantastic option for a budget-friendly meal and I'll keep going there well after I graduate. I think it's one of the top Chinese places in Logan, and I especially like their tangerine and tiny spicy chicken. Highly recommend to anyone looking for good Chinese food in Logan. read more
