I have gone to this establishment about 5 times. On the 5th time I ordered Tiny spicy, and general tso. Both tasted like the meat had been sitting in a tub of old water. This deep odd flavor was just too overwhelming I couldn't eat it. I've read some of these reviews saying how it's the best Chinese food you can get in Logan... Such a better experience than Panda! I got the combo (only $7 by the way). After talking with the guys behind the counter, who were super nice, they suggested plum chicken and tiny spicy chicken. I picked tiny and broccoli beef but said if they tossed me a piece of plum chicken I would try it. They were more than happy to, and I definitely regretted not choosing it in the first place. The restaurant itself is small, no tables bigger than four seats, but nice and clean. I'm sad it took me so long to go, I'll definitely be back. read more

I'm glad I chose to eat at this restaurant, Hot and fresh food which was really good. The worker was super polite and gave me a really good portion for the price. I got a combo meal for $6. The sauce was on point along with the rice. I've had better sesame chicken else where, the sesame chicken is my only complaint. It wasn't horrible but could have been better. Today was my first time eating here, and I am very pleased with the service I received. The gentleman behind the counter, Henry, who took my order and rung me up was very kind and pleasant to interact with, despite what had probably been a long day; I came after 8:20pm on a Saturday. The food is also decently priced, with my total coming to under $8, thought I did not get a drink. If I remember correctly, I got the veggie delight, with lo mein & a veggie egg roll. Ok I don't understand the people here in Logan and their standards of Chinese food. As for me I used to come to this place when I was back in college and order from the special menu all the time. The gold in the past use to be very good but right now the quality went totally down. I ordered the sizzling platter (chicken) and the rulou rice. The rulou rice now isn't much savory...it is more sweet than anything. For the sizzling platter the quality of a black pepper sauce went down. Also the chicken steak had this weird sour taste to it. I am thinking the quality of meat isn't all that great or fresh at all because after eating it...two hour later I am sick to the stomach. I am feeling blotted and nauseous. I would never come back to this place ever again. I rather stay at home and eat instant ramen noodles than come back here or even recommend this place to anyone. read more

We just moved into the area and tried out this Chinese restaurant for the first time. It was absolutely delicious, there was so much food that we had enough to take home for a couple more meals, the price was unbelievable $12.94 for two. You just walk through and pick what you want and pay at the end, no servers needed and it's all ready to go in a to go box so you don't have to ask for one later we were very very pleased. This place had quality satisfaction customer service. The owners were so accommodating and had a nice variety! We ordered the family pick 4 which consisted of general tso's, organelle chicken, sweet and sour, and beef and broccoli which came along with white rice and you could upgrade if you wanted fried rice. We also ordered fresh egg rolls which weren't a favorite of my family despite them being fresh. I don't blame it on the quality but more to their liking! Choose your base: green tea, black tea, milk, or water. Choose whether you want coconut milk, ice, and/or tapioca in it. Of course you want the tapioca in it. That's the whole point of boba tea. Choose your flavor. We got mango/passion fruit and green apple. We liked them both. Then, order your meal. We tried the tangerine chicken, the General Tsao's chicken, the sweet and sour chicken, and the Happy Family. (Wow, we must have been in a chicken mood.) They were all really good! Better than Mandarin Garden, and as good as Black Pearl (nice). Husband raved about the fried rice, and I have to agree--it was flavorful and moist. My lo mein noodles were great, too. I don't know if anyone could possibly recognize this is a restaurant unless you walked right up to the window and looked inside. Rarely do I feel compelled to write a bad review, but I was expecting so much given the high ratings of a "chef." I think the first sign of mediocre Chinese food is not using wheat noodles for the lo mein, but spaghetti noodles. Even the Marketplace on campus uses actual soba wheat noodles. The fried rice was bland, as was the sauce for the vegetables delight and Happy Family. The boba tea was great -- I got the lychee flavor. The egg roll was also very good, but I feel like I wasted my money on the meal. Don't get me wrong, the people were so friendly -- but the food was just not good. I'll stick with Mandarin Garden. They may be expensive, but at least they have flavor. If I go back, it'll be for the boba, and only that. read more

I've been to the best boba shops in NYC, and the boba milk tea here is pretty decent. However the presentation is lacking-- it is Logan, UT. Not my fave. Let me start by saying the lady who attended us was very polite. And she gave us great sized portions. The food this afternoon however was not good. Granted we only got sweet and sour chicken, and a fortune cookie. But both were disappointing. The chicken was soggy and had probably been sitting in that bin for over an hour. And the fortune cookie was stale. We didn't bother with the rice or noodles because they didn't look fresh. I was so excited to finally be living in an area with Chinese food delivery again, we ordered from here the first night in our new house while the kitchen was still in boxes. I should have just gotten in the car and gone to McDonalds. The woman on the phone tried to navigate my son's dairy allergy on the menu, which I appreciated, but the food when it arrived was probably the worst Chinese food I've ever had. There was little to no flavor and everything was atrociously overcooked to near mush. Reading another review, if they are hot holding everything it is either at too high a temperature, or for too long, or possibly both. The food was cheap, even with delivery charges...sadly, I'd rather pay more and get something edible. We all had sour stomachs that night after eating and unless this place changes drastically, will never order out from them or set foot in it again. read more

Royal Express is a hole in the wall Chinese eatery with precooked Americanized dishes warming in bins. Also has a second menu with more authentic dishes cooked fresh for you. First visit here in years, the rice noodle soup I had took a while to cook, but it was done well. But the community bowl of chili sauce they keep by the register was nearly empty and all crusted over and nasty. I also tried their sesame chicken, which was boring, just slightly honey sweet, soggy enough that the breading was falling off. That sticky sweet shrimp they serve is tasty, I forgot its name. Second visit..it's called Butter Shrimp. Serving size was smaller this visit. Their thick chow mein noodles are growing on me, subtle taste but nice texture. Their hot and sour soup is basically egg drop with pepper in it. Their General Tsao's chicken is spicy and sweet, with a tomato-based sauce..it's different than I'm used to and pretty tasty. Water cups are annoyingly small here. Service on my first visit was very disorganized. They could not keep up with only a few groups of diners. Then they tried to avoid serving me from the fresh menu, not sure why. Second visit, we had some serious language barrier issues. Dining room is small, it's not much to look at but clean enough, besides scuffed up furniture. After two visits I raised my rating one star to 3. It has issues but there are some decent flavors to be had here. read more

I've been eating here for about 15 years and I love everything about royal express. I think their food is delicious, never overcooked like others stated (however some chicken peices are straight hard fat and unable to chew the peice), and their rice is yummy. I love the previous owner so much, Susan was awesome! Now her family took it over and they're quite nice as well! So cheap prices, good food, and friendly people! read more

We ordered general tso's chicken, tiny spicy chicken, happy family, pineapple pork, and had both the noodles and the rice. Grossest food ever. Also, the egg rolls we ordered were extremely tiny and were cold. The noodles were SPAGHETTI noodles, not asian egg noodles, and the rice was bland and not appetizing. We couldn't even hardly touch our pineapple pork and general tso's because of how little meat there was and how overly breaded and the flavored coating was disgusting. Not edible. Disappointing, and we will be bringing our business elsewhere. read more

Had lunch here today and spent $6.40 for the special. They were out of the Tangerine Chicken so the cook made me a special order, hot and delicious. Unfortunately the noodles and rice were lukewarm and lacked in flavor. The Eggdrop Soup was also hot and tasty. Doubt I'll go again as there are loads of new places to try in Logan. read more
