I'll still give them 5 stars because the quality / value is still there and clearly I keep coming back. I can get my haircut by any of the super nice ladies in there, and they all just ask "the same?" lol. The only thing I'll really have to specify is whether I want both the top and my sides cut, or just my sides. They know all know my name and always greet me when I enter and thank me when I leave. The vibes on the inside are very relaxed and typically quiet, but they of course will chit chat with you and be responsive if you're feeling talkative that day. I appreciate being able to just sit and think sometimes as I get my haircut very frequently and find it relaxing. A few changes to note: they no longer offer their stamp card that used to get you half off every 6th haircut which is a bummer. They've also in creased their prices (at least for men's cuts). It's now $12 for just the sides (I believe it used to be $10) and now $15 for top and sides (used to be $12). They're still priced very well, but figured it's worth mentioning. I still love this spot!

Because of that history, what happened on Saturday was especially disappointing. During my appointment, the salon owner's mood and behavior toward me were unacceptable. He has always been somewhat abrasive toward me, and I have often tried to avoid interactions with him. Saturday was the final straw. During my appointment, he spoke to me in a rude and belittling manner, which led me to calmly ask to be left alone and set a boundary. Instead of respecting that request, he returned and yelled at me in front of other clients and staff. The yelling continued for several minutes. I remained calm throughout the interaction, but I was embarrassed and shocked by how the situation was handled. I was concerned for my safety the remaining of the appointment. After years of being a loyal customer, I never expected to be treated in that manner. Professionalism and respectful communication should be the standard, regardless of what may be happening personally or professionally behind the scenes. As a result of this experience, I will no longer be supporting this business or its owner. The lack of professionalism, respect, safety and lack of accountability displayed during this interaction was deeply disappointing and does not reflect the level of service I expect from a business I have supported for many years. I have decided, unfortunately, to find a new salon. I will genuinely miss my hairstylists, Helen and Nina, who have always treated me with kindness and professionalism. They are talented, caring, and were a major reason I remained a loyal client for so many years.

Hello to all! I have recently moved to the area and of…read morecourse had the daunting task of finding a new hair salon!! My cousin suggested one right up the road and I went. I was on the phone with Manny a number of times prior to having an appointment- due to the fact that the opening date kept changing due to the Covid crisis.....But the wait was well worth it in my view!! The pleasantries started with an adorable young gal named Thanh (or Tori) who greeted me as soon as I walked in with a glorious smile:-) So sweet and helpful!! Manny the owner came over and we discussed our plan of action so to speak:-) I have to say- they have a unique form of taking care of clients here.....as soon as one does their part- another staff member joins you immediately to execute theirs. I found it quite refreshing actually. Rachel soon joined me to begin highlights....she was fast - super friendly-and extremely knowledgeable about hair and hair products. I was sincerely impressed. Her work was stunning.....Then off to sweet Maria (Saide:-) for a dreamy wash and rinse. As soon as I was back in my chair-along came Manny to do my cut. I found this man to have such a great character and personality and very professional as well. Great cut and conversation!! As soon as he left....yep- Rachel was right there to blow-dry and style my hair. With all that is going on in the world right now- I honestly felt safe being in Modern Salon due to the precautions and social distancing and mandatory masks they obliged by. And although they were the first salon I have been to in my new city and state.....they could very well be the only one I will ever need....:-) Cynthia:-)

I also noticed that the clippers had nicked my ear and it was bleeding. I will never go back to this salon - completely unacceptable! I would rate this salon a ZERO if that rating was available!

I noticed many business owners tending to customers. The restrooms were clean and stocked with toiletries. I sat outside the Living Whole Company suite and waited to enter.
