Showed-up at appropriate time and right outside of the door of Refine encountered lady screaming her lungs out at someone who seemed to be a hairstylist. It was an ass chewing session out in public on the street. Boss screaming at an employee. Totally awful situation! I walked in and told them I am here. The receptionist said the owner will be available shortly. I asked if the lady screaming her lungs out at the hair stylist on the street will be cutting my hair and they said yes. Well is she ok to cut my hair? I don't want super angry person who cannot handle her emotions to cut my hair at the moment of anger...I am having these thoughts for few minutes and realized that I cannot condone this kind of behavior. I told the screaming owner who was still going at it with her employee on the street that this is inappropriate and I will not be her customer. So I left! PS: after posting the review the owner of the business left a comment below indicating they she was not screaming at her employee, and I had no right to place picture on Yelp, and I don't know what was going on! She was screaming at her employee about work related stuff which was clear, and she was red in her face how drastic it was! Her employees gave me permission to take a picture of them for Yelp review at the time when I was hoping to use their service and as an elite Yelper I always ask before taking pictures. Employees also indicated that the owner was unhappy with that particular person but they offered a different stylist which I declined on principle. Not only is the owner rude and unprofessional she is a liar too!

Start with cold beverage on a hot day, then meet an exceptional stylist-in my case the always amazing Stephany-that cuts your hair exactly how you like it, add in the hot wax dip for your hands (so great for my arthritis) then a shampoo, scalp massage, face massage, and arm and hand massage to round out your experience, and you have a 45 minute trip to a heavenly paradise. Being a once-a-month subscriber, I get to enjoy this blissful escape from reality every four weeks or so. While I realize that I wax poetic in this review, I cannot overstate the value of this experience. Physical and mental therapy with a haircut thrown in for good measure at an affordable price!

It was my first time visiting The Boardroom, but the experience Stephany gave me ensured it will…read morenot be my last. I received The Benchmark service and I would describe it as the last word in a luxury haircut experience. First Stephany asked me how I like my hair done, then she suggested some options for styling it that I had not considered before. I quite liked her suggestions and took them. She was gentle but firm while she cut my difficult, curly hair and trimmed my beard, and I could tell she was taking her time to do the best possible job. After the trim part, she took me to a quiet back salon room where she dipped my hands in paraffin wax, then began the scalp massage and hot towel treatment. I had never experienced a paraffin-wax dip and the wax felt strange at first, but as a chef and frequent hand-washer I don't think my hands have been hydrated like that in years. The treatment that followed included a face massage, a hot towel wrapped around my face, a pleasant eucalyptus aromatherapy, a shampooing and a scalp massage, then she removed the wax from my hands and gave me a hand massage. I am happy to say that Stephany brought the same careful attention to detail to each of the services, and was both responsive and informative when it came to the styling that followed. She even helped me understand what I have so far been doing wrong in caring for my beard and made some wonderful suggestions to improve my beard's health! In summary, I do not believe I have experienced relaxation quite like I did at The Boardroom, and would recommend Stephany to anyone who might be interested in elevating a haircut experience. She was knowledgeable, professional, great at small talk, and I will be visiting again soon to request her services!
