I am so happy that I finally just called for help, I had beat one denial myself and had it overturned- but when the overturned denial was again denied, obviously the disability insurance company was going to basically harass me until I gave up. I went to Roy Law for help. He accepted my case. He disengaged services stating it was because "he could not see a way to extend my benefits beyond 24 months." He did not state why. If it was due to medical or mental or anything. They did not have the entire medical record when I got my copies back from them after they disengaged. Neither did the insurance company. I resent my medical records to the insurance company before I submitted my appeal on my own. Mr. Roy offered no opportunity for me to explain the inaccuracies in my medical records. After a quick review of my case, I was told they could take my case and win; however, they chose not to because the legal fees would be almost as much as my settlement. (and I would still have to pay income tax on the settlement) They felt it would be unethical. An ethical law firm, amazing! I can't say enough good things about this firm. Angela, the intake specialist, was very friendly and knowledgeable. She answered endless questions from me, even after the lawyer decided not to take my case. She gave me lots of great info on how appeals work, timelines, and even tips on what pit falls to look out for and avoid. Chris Roy's practice answers the unethical practices of large and impersonal insurance companies with honesty, clarity and resolve. From the moment I called him, it felt like a huge weight had been lifted from my shoulders. He knows the process very well now and his practice has grown by leaps and bounds. But he was right there, on top of every detail over the course of my ~3-year fight. I knew that I was disabled. My short-term disability company took my doctor's word for it. But my long term disability company did not. And that was the trap that so many people fall into, I have come to find. I would have saved so much angst (and money) if I had consulted with Chris before filing for LTD. As it turned out, I had an unusually strong case, but still chose to settle for a reasonable amount. That amount clearly would have been greater, and the amount I had to pay Chris substantially less, if I had gotten his help before filing. But as it was, he rolled up his sleeves, wrote excellent briefs and presented a very strong case in federal court. Don't be fooled into believing that an LTD company will just take your doctor's word for it and that you should be able to file the forms yourself! You are likely not an expert on ERISA. You know darn well that the insurance companies are. And it is a lot of money that we're talking about. So they will only pay if they have no choice. So at least call Chris as early as you can in the process. You won't regret it. He gets ERISA and he understands the process in Washington and Oregon particularly well, so you won't have to learn through the school of hard knocks! Like others, I struggled to find an LTD lawyer. The big nationwide companies were happy to work with me, but felt bureaucratic. When I called Chris, he just had all the answers and seemed on top of it. Now, that is no guarantee that he will be for you. You have to use your own judgement. Take those free consultations as an opportunity to form your own opinions. And once you decide, you will feel like you truly are in good hands, like the way you are supposed to feel when you pay for disability insurance for several years. read more

This Law Group got me approved for the easiest 2 years when I had all my disability coming from Liberty Mutual so their 25% was more and worth it. After I got SSD my portion from Liberty come much less so this Roy Law company took one year and half to give me an answer that they do not see my case as good to take to the Court. If I could get approved for disability by the State how come so good lawyers can not do the same. At least I should be told on time. I am very disappointed. Can not stop crying! Please make sure if you are using this company that you get your disability under right diagnosis. Do not let them use you for 2 years under mental illness. My diagnosis are all physical. I began having a medical condition that caused me to stop working after 42 years. I was grateful to find out that my company had me enrolled in a long term disability insurance program. When I first began my new life of not working, I had thought that the long term disability insurance would take care of me. I was sooo wrong. The first few months were a short term disability nightmare. After the short term was completed, I transitioned to long term disability.
