You can "fight City Hall" and having come from a public service career I knew this to be true as long as we remember that we are the tortoise. This can be a long process (I filed my initial claim on 4/27/17 on my own and won my case on May 21, 2019) and you need patience constantly. The staff and attorneys gladly guided me through all the processes to get to the finish line. I asked to meet with staff in person more than once and they made appointments with me. As I got closer to my hearing date, gave me guidelines for getting letters from friends and former business partners to submit to the judge. My attorney, Geoff Keirnan, met with me and coached me on how to best answer questions. On hearing day, he prepped me again and the whole hearing took less than 30 minutes with me doing most of the talking. On July 8, I received my check for my back pay of 24 months from the US Treasury. What a mind blowing event that was. I would highly recommend them. All they do is disability law. There is always someone to talk to or they return phone calls promptly.
