BBQ plate (Brisket with sides of Mac salad and mac & cheese) - mac salad was good and it had a sweetness to it that I liked. Didn't try the brisket however my family who did eat it said it was ok, but a little dry. Steak tips basket: steak was ok but noticeably salty. Salty to the point where I would be cutting off the outsides. Steak tips were also very well done which made it difficult to chew. Fries that came with this were actually ok, seemed very homemade. Big Dipper - basically a bacon cheeseburger with Texas toast instead of a bun. The two cheeses they used gave such good flavor to the burger. This was the only thing that didn't seem salty but I'm guessing it might be because it's served with an Au jus for dipping, which I didn't like at all. If I did dip my burger, it definitely would have been salty. We ordered Mac and cheese as the side for this and that was salty for sure. Sweet tea - good balance of sweetness, pretty refreshing! Overall, staff seemed nice and they seem like a cute family business. I would warn anyone who comes here that if you're sensitive to salt, you might want to ask that they aren't so generous with the seasoning!

Medora, North Dakota…read more September 2026 Very unexpected greeting. I was inside the restaurant waiting for my husband to park and was told that I could not stay in the restaurant. I had to wait outside until my husband arrived. I later find out it was due to a senator and his entourage of security coming in to eat. I did sit down and looked at the menu. Asked the waiter if the chicken was fried fresh. He said no. I asked if there was another item on the menu that was fresh. He said no. I asked again if there was anything on the menu that was freshly made in the kitchen. He informed me that everything was prepared elsewhere, frozen, and brought in. I decided to leave the restaurant. I would not eat in a restaurant that everything was prepared and thawed out to eat. And the menu prices were extremely high for already prepared food. Such a cute town and nice idea for a restaurant. However, why would you not make your own food?

All of the workers appeared to be high school students, and they were all doing their jobs; our young waitress was especially sweet. I got a BLT and a cup of soup, which was creamy chicken veg that night. The soup is self-serve. This soup was so good that I was sad I short-changed myself and only filled my little kettle halfway. I wish I had asked if I could go get more because I loved that soup. It was savory, not at all thick and goopy, and the chunks of chicken were so tender. BLT was generous and neatly made. No complaints. Husband got a French dip. No complaints there either. The jus was very good. Two meals, 2 sodas, $33 and change before tip.
