For a tourist town the prices were surprisingly reasonable. The small dish of ice cream provides up to two flavors of ice cream for less than $5. The flavors they offer aren't just typical Hiland which was a nice change. The ice cream was flavorful and rich, I suggest the espresso flavored one. Positioned right outside the south entrance to the National Park, I assumed this store would be all about gifts and touristy trinkets. Don't sleep on the cafe, however! They have a surprisingly good lineup of espresso drinks. I tried the dirty chai, and it was excellent -- not too sweet, with just the right amount of spice. I definitely did not expect that quality of drink from such an unassuming store. And the caramel bun...so decadent, it definitely hit the spot for a big dessert-for-breakfast kind of morning. The black cherry ice cream was so good. Very creamy. My husband got monster cookie and something with caramel. He liked it. The prices were fair too. The only downfall is that you will have to wait in line and there may not be a place to sit. That's great for them though! I would recommend having more western or national park or buffalo related items in the gift shop especially on the aisle where you have to wait in line for ice cream. It's stuff I would not think most people would buy. read more

The place is clean, neat and welcoming. The young Barista that assisted me the last 2 mornings was very pleasant and accommodating. Coffee and pastries are excellent as well as the ice cream treats, which we enjoyed mid day both days we were in Medora. We will return on our next visit. read more

Came to this little town of Medora a few times and I stopped by Hatlee's where I had some of thee best Huckleberry ice cream. Employees here are very friendly they make you feel at home. You can grab as many samples as you like. The ice cream is rich, had a few pieces of huckleberry chunks, it's sweet but not overwhelming. If you love ice cream as much as I do, I suggest you hit this place. There's another ice cream place a few blocks from this one but Hatlee's takes the trophy. read more

The ice cream is delicious. I got the triple chocolate--so rich and creamy with chunks of chocolate. Delicious! I ordered a regular size and should have gotten a small. It was so rich! My husband got a small that includes two scoops. He got one mint chocolate chip and one Jolted Cow. Jolted Cow is caramel ice cream with coffee spiked chocolate ribbons and espresso bean flakes. When a friend heard I was going to Medora, they suggested this ice cream shop. There was a mistake with my order and I ended up with a bigger size than I ordered, but there was no issue with them trying to charge me more or anything. I was the first one in line when I walked in, but by the time I left, there was a very Long line, so it must be popular.
