Hatlee & Brae - Outside the Store. - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Medora, North Dakota

See all

Hatlee and Brae is located right outside the south entrance to Theodore Roosevelt National Park in a downtown shopping area. This area has a historic western country town feel to it that also feels touristy. It was a warm day and this place was a perfect treat after exploring the day in the park. I got a small cup of huckleberry ice cream and it was delicious and refreshing! We were able to find parking easily. They have tables and chairs outside to enjoy your ice cream at. The inside has gifts if you are in the mood for shopping. They had a large selection of flavors of ice cream to choose from! Highly recommend! read more

I woke up at the buttcrack of too early am (6:45) to go to Theodore Roosevelt National Park (you must explore if in the neighborhood;). While there, baking in the bloody boiling heat I debated stealing a baby buffalo. However after getting back into the car and I realized that it was in fact an idea for another time and place. Then there was only one thing left on my mind - ICE CREAM. But enough about me, let's talk about the ice cream (what you're actually here for) Just from an outside glance I'd found something better than stealing a baby buffalo. This aesthetic shop had so many scrumptious ice cream flavors and after much pondering I ordered my ice cream. And what can I say- it was DELICIOUS! I mean the instant I tasted the brownie s'mores ice cream (and white chocolate raspberry truffle) I knew EXACTLY how to steal the baby buffalo... see you out there xoxo FJ read more

Five stars. Fantastic ice cream. The flavor list is extensive and unique so if you're stuck we highly recommend the Jolted Cow, or the Strawberry Rhubarb Cobbler! read more

For a tourist town the prices were surprisingly reasonable. The small dish of ice cream provides up to two flavors of ice cream for less than $5. The flavors they offer aren't just typical Hiland which was a nice change. The ice cream was flavorful and rich, I suggest the espresso flavored one. The latte was average, but provides that needed kick of caffeine. There are spacious seating options inside and outside. read more

Positioned right outside the south entrance to the National Park, I assumed this store would be all about gifts and touristy trinkets. Don't sleep on the cafe, however! They have a surprisingly good lineup of espresso drinks. I tried the dirty chai, and it was excellent -- not too sweet, with just the right amount of spice. I definitely did not expect that quality of drink from such an unassuming store. And the caramel bun...so decadent, it definitely hit the spot for a big dessert-for-breakfast kind of morning. All in all, a solid place for a morning fix if you're visiting the park! read more

Hatlee & Brae - Caramel bun - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Medora, North Dakota

The place is clean, neat and welcoming. The young Barista that assisted me the last 2 mornings was very pleasant and accommodating. Coffee and pastries are excellent as well as the ice cream treats, which we enjoyed mid day both days we were in Medora. We will return on our next visit. read more

The black cherry ice cream was so good. Very creamy. My husband got monster cookie and something with caramel. He liked it. The prices were fair too. The only downfall is that you will have to wait in line and there may not be a place to sit. That's great for them though! I would recommend having more western or national park or buffalo related items in the gift shop especially on the aisle where you have to wait in line for ice cream. It's stuff I would not think most people would buy. read more

The ice cream was decent. Many varieties of flavors. The servers were rude and the store did not offer a taste of flavors so be prepared to be disappointed if you don't like your choice. read more

Cute place! Friendly service! My daughter tried one of their handcrafted sodas and loved it!

The ice cream is outstanding with fun flavors to try. The scoops are generous and the custom sodas are delicious. The staff is helpful and the little shop is cute. read more

Came to this little town of Medora a few times and I stopped by Hatlee's where I had some of thee best Huckleberry ice cream. Employees here are very friendly they make you feel at home. You can grab as many samples as you like. The ice cream is rich, had a few pieces of huckleberry chunks, it's sweet but not overwhelming. If you love ice cream as much as I do, I suggest you hit this place. There's another ice cream place a few blocks from this one but Hatlee's takes the trophy. read more

The ice cream is delicious. I got the triple chocolate--so rich and creamy with chunks of chocolate. Delicious! I ordered a regular size and should have gotten a small. It was so rich! My husband got a small that includes two scoops. He got one mint chocolate chip and one Jolted Cow. Jolted Cow is caramel ice cream with coffee spiked chocolate ribbons and espresso bean flakes. He loved both flavors. read more

Awesome ice cream and an adorable gift shop. While there is a NO sample policy, I totally get the need for the policy in a tourist town. It makes ordering the housemade ice cream a real gamble, but it is delicious. The staff was friendly and efficient, and the store is clean. read more

When a friend heard I was going to Medora, they suggested this ice cream shop. There was a mistake with my order and I ended up with a bigger size than I ordered, but there was no issue with them trying to charge me more or anything. I was the first one in line when I walked in, but by the time I left, there was a very Long line, so it must be popular. I really enjoyed my cone and they have cute gifts around the store as well. read more

Delicious caramel macchiato! Will stop by again next time to get another! The barista was very friendly and we appreciated that they open at 7am. read more

This was the first time I ever was limited to just one sample of ice cream. How silly! With so many choices, how do you get to decide what you like? For crying out loud, let your customers have at least 2 samples!!!! read more

Ice cream was nice and it was fun to walk around also they were very accommodating to allergies!!

Great ice cream! Great coffee, we loved coming here in the morning for caffeine and then again in the afternoon for treats! And the Dole Whip!! Yes!!!! read more

Ice cream was fantastic. Waffle cone tasted like melted sugar. Nobody was wearing masks at the store while serving food to other people.

Huckleberry ice cream was sooo good. Portions were good size. Still had 15 min to place an order, but felt kinda rushed/inconvenienced. If you want to close 15 minutes before 8pm, then mark your sign as "Open 'til 7:45" and not "Open 'til 8:00" read more

Went there to grab breakfast and it was yummy! We returned there for the next breakfast too. Great service and good food. We had doughnuts, muffins and delicious caramel rolls. Highly recommend and can't wait to go back to try the ice cream read more
