As the others have said, it's off the main road in Shawlands but it would take less than 2 minutes to walk there, so it's worth a diversion. It's a sweet gift shop with a focus on sewing stuff too - you can learn how to make your own cushion covers, for example. I was in looking for a little housewarming gift and card for a friend and loved having a nosey around while the woman working offered me helpful suggestions and showed me some of the new stuff they had in. They have a big range of stuff; from jams and fudge, to candles, prints, kids clothes/toys, lovely fabrics and cushions, bunting and some jewellery bits and bobs. I liked how it's all presented and easy to find something nice without too much bother - I ended up just grabbing a card (The Grey Earl batboy card) and a wee tote bag as a present which was under a tenner. Paperchase was a delightful store, filled with interesting things, from a collection of mini erasers, shaped in so many different styles. Pens of every color and style, pencils with crowns at the tops, and of course the greeting card collections. You could pick up moleskien note books if that's your personal fetish (I know a few who love them) And apparently there's an upstairs that I didn't get a chance to visit, but next time, and there will be a next time.

The exceptionally helpful and engaging staff. The best range of greeting cards I've ever had to choose from - seriously g's birthday card buying took hours. The amazing selection of everything, I didn't even know I needed a panda rubber (eraser) until I brought him home. Or could it be the amazing multicoloured disco floor that makes me want to don a white suit and channel John Travolta - I'm going to be John Travolta partially because I can't remember the female characters name but more because I hated her dress and would look way better in a white flared suit! I loved Paperchase when it was a wee section of Borders bookshop. I mourned for its loss when Borders disappeared from Buchanan Street and Glasgow Fort. But there are not enough words for me to convey the strength of my passion for this muckle shine to all that is stationery. Oh and the fact that buying stationery is never going to make me regret eating cake with mean and nasty changing room mirrors is purely coincidental.

He's happy for you just to browse - which is great. They have a wide variety of art on offer, varying in both style and price. They even offer small "exhibitions" of individual artists, which brings a great feeling to the place. It's eclectic, stylish and friendly; which is a great mix for an independent gallery! They've also done some collaborative work with charities to raise funds for some important causes.

Sadly, they only had a Scots patter one, not the Weegie version, so my search continued. But it looks like a nice wee store if you're looking for a gift or greetings cards. By the time I had reached the till I had already decided this was going to be a five star review but then the wonderful staff at the till tried to help me lug the buggy up the stairs. I say tried because I may have been using the handy basket at the bottom of the buggy to hide all the books bought in Waterstones, meaning that the buggy weighed more than a family hatchback and actually couldn't be lifted even by two people and Puff just had to suck up bumped up the stairs. A great wee shop that I'll probably be back in again before Christmas. If only because I need some of the amazing Christmas cards with huge Rudolph noses and really my tree isn't going to be finished until I have a rocket decoration hanging from it. Given it's location and as Loch Lomond Shores is mainly aimed at tourists, most of the jewellery here is Scottish themed such as Rennie Macintosh or Celtic themed. I really liked the home wares and they had really nice mirrors and vases all at reasonable prices. Overall a nice shop to browse, the staff are friendly, it's well organised and it has a nice, reasonably priced selection of gifts.

This is a new-ish gift shop at The Avenue which stands out for having some really lovely stuff…read more I've only paid a couple of quick visits so can't really give a definitive run-down of what they do or don't have. I was in the other day looking for something specific which they didn't have, but they do have a lovely range of the Happy Jackson stuff (which always catches my eye!) as well as a nice kids range, cards, gifts etc. This store isn't as big as their Giffnock one so if you're looking for a large range, that one might be worth a visit instead.

I really want to give this place a good review as it is a small local business but unfortunately it is not my cup of tea at all. In my opinion, the stock is tacky and overpriced. And since my gran was synonymous with tacky nicknacks and harkbacks to the interwar era, I like this shop. Full of cuddly toys, posh, collectable bears in a Steiff style and various other bits and bobs, it's one to go birthday shopping in. It reminds me of a mini Papyrus (of Glasgow fame) that exists in Helensburgh. They get a lot of the same stock in and is full to burst with fox pendants, owl cushions and anything for the consumer who has a penchant for retro wares. Dinky, cute store with a cool shopkeeper - glad this place is still in business!
