However, after canceling, I noticed that they were still charging my card every month. I tried calling the office to resolve this issue and left multiple voicemails, but I received no feedback. Concerned they would charge my card again, I called my bank and requested a new card. Shortly after, I received a call from the office asking for a payment of $40 for a returned check fee. I explained that I had canceled my membership a month after joining and that they had been charging my card for months without my knowledge. I am not asking for those payments to be refunded; I just want to be left alone. I will not provide another card to avoid being charged for services I did not receive. One thing that continues setting Row House apart from other studios is the intentional but natural community building that goes on in every class and before and after class. Imma be honest. I wasn't sold on an entire gym dedicated to rowing. I remember the Tustin one opening and thought, "how much can you get with just rowing?" Well, as mentioned in another review, I went on a "world tour" of checking out gyms near and around the Lake Forest area. I finally decided to check out Row House and man, what an idiot I was in the past!!! We were warmly greeted by Shiloh and Coach Ali G when we walked in. We've done rowing at other gyms before, but it was nice to be reminded of technique and focusing on proper form and how to get more intensity and power in your stroke. Ali G brings an energy like you wouldn't believe. She is calm, and encouraging and really pushes you. She's truly believes that we can do more than what we think, and she will give us intentions through out the class. I have only been here less than a month and I am truly smitten by her coaching style. I love it! I have also met Allie K and Coach Rach and they are fantastic as well. In my first class, which was an Express class (only 30 mins), Coach Ali G assured us that we can get a great burn, but it is all dependent on us. You get what you put in and that is a constant reminder I have in my mind when I walk in. They are helping me improve my technique but also what they bring is helping my mental state. It's nice to hear those intentions at the start of class or even the middle, to then take that throughout the rest of the day. It's just a good reminder sometimes. Great workout with fun coaches! I love coming here for the variety of classes ( strength, signature and intervals). There are theme rows and also challenges like the Resolve to Row coming up in January! Row House makes exercising fun especially with all the music. Pretty good class but giving then 2 stars as I had an emergency situation happen at home right before walking out to get to class which delayed me by 15 mins and they completely took me off the roster. Never heard of a fitness class doing this . The answer I got when asked if I could still go in is that it would disrupt the class. I'm sorry,, is everyone taking a test ? First time taking a row class, but that's all it took. I'm sold. I bought a bundle of classes and downloaded the app. I really love how I can totally engage my core throughput a solid cardio full body exercise. The whole vibe is fun and uplifting. I love that the instructor spend a few mins with me before class to make sure I had good form and technique. The lighting in dark (which is good) so I don't have to watch myself struggling during the workout l. But varies depending on the instructor and class. I was able to do an express 30 min class and I full 45 min class - feeling great afterwards. I have a serious injury that doesn't allow me to run or even walk... but I'm okay rowing with no pain, no issues afterwards. I've been a member of RowHouse Foothill Ranch since Jan '22. My husband joined in Mar '22. Years ago, in my 20s and 30s, I was always attracted to rowing machines. The rowing action just felt right for my body, and that was without any knowledge of proper rowing technique. Fast forward to my 60s: RowHouse's Concept 2 ERGs, the trained RowHouse coaching staff, and the community of fellow-rowers make the workouts a lot more fun (and safe). Many may think we're crazy to hit this place at 5:30am; but for me, it's the best way to begin my day! Rowing is truly the BEST low-impact cardio! Proper technique is stressed. The coach warms up and cools down the crew in each class session. From start to finish, the coaches are overall encouraging, positive, and personable; the front desk folks make you feel welcomed and appreciated as well. For the classes, the music can be really motivating (sometimes loud - don't worry...there are earplugs to help with that), and theme rows are a LOT of fun! The key to being successful is to learn and practice the coached technique: breath pattern and angle of the torso through the power of the legs pushing back, engagement of the core, pull of the handle, and the recovery to the catch! I've learned to love the sound of the flywheels and the sight in the mirror as members stay in swing (moving together). Depending on the class format (Strength, Intervals, Full Row, Restore, Signature, Benchmark, etc.), you'll experience a variety of exercises and stretches with modifications both on and off the ERG. Exercises are done with bodyweight, dumbbells, or TRX bandits-resistance bands with optional handles (the sign on the door will tell you what you need to get) If you're thinking about checking it out, I recommend starting with a 30-min EXPRESS class of any format...or a RESTORE class. If you're not sure you can row for an extended period of time, a great start is INTERVALS...you basically row to a song, come off for a short exercise block, then repeat that pattern of on/off...on/off...perfect in our "short attention-span world". Give RowHouse a try! Sign up for a free class; consider trying it out with a friend! I went in to RH for a complimentary class (we were told we could have 5 free classes) with my sister in law. We both enjoyed the class, but afterwards there was a lot of aggressive, pushy, behavior by the gal at the desk and our instructor that we had that day, to become members. We still had 4 free classes. We told them we would come in the following week for our 2nd free class, and then make a decision on whether we wanted to join. We left and never attended our next free class. Six weeks later we are now getting e mails requesting payment and late fees. Highly unprofessional, and I feel we are being scammed. I think if you accept the free classes and then sign up, you have no problems. But because we did not want to pursue signing up, they are going to try and get some money out of us. We are also seniors and I think they believe we may be easy marks to scam. WRONG! I have money, I am retired, and have all the free time in the world to fight this all the way to court if I have to. I caution anyone even thinking about going to RH to be aware of their unscrupulous behavior. Please be careful. read more

A great low impact work out for the whole body. I started out with absolutely no prior knowledge about rowing. The coaches are very motivating and constantly remind you about form and technique. Drew and Richard are the owners/GM and are friendly, welcoming and professional For those who are concerned about social distancing the staff constantly remind everyone to wear masks and check temperatures prior to entry. The machines (ergs) are set apart from each other and the floors and machines are cleaned before and after class. I have tried rowing at the gym and liked it but never really knew the right technique and how to get a really good workout without ending up with a sore back and tired arms a few minutes into it.
